Infinite Stride

A young man dies and is reincarnated into the a World based on Tower of God with a few special powers. A few ideas might be taken from Endless Path: Infinite Cosmos regarding the system of power and settings. This is my first fan-fic, so, it might not be that good, but, I will try to make it enjoyable. Also, if you have time to read this, I would advise reading EPIC, it is one of the bests stories I have read. Also, I don't own the cover.

The Final Exam Begins

(A/N: I made a mistake in the previous chapter that I have already corrected, this exam Kaizen is watching is supposed to be the last exam of the position test, not the test the last test to pass to the next floor.)

Watching the screen in front of him, Kaizen could clearly see the same events he had read from the webtoon happening as the hide and seek game began.

Acting according to Khun's plan, the members of team A had prepared an ambush to attempt to catch Quant by touching the badge he was hearing. Quant being the red haired, dark skinned short ranker.

Unfortunately for them, his ability as a ranker was nothing to be scoffed off. So, as expected this ended up being a failure. Still, confident of his victory, Quant left all the regulars leave saying that he will give them thirty-two minutes and thirteen seconds to run away and attempt to escape the labyrinth.

And, as expected, Quant was easily able to defeat all regulars, using his only allowed baang to use a technique which could make him turn invisible, something he didn't need to do to win against them anyways.

So, with time to spare, Quant managed to reach the bridge which connected to the exit sure that Anaak, the team A's it would be there.

But, reaching the place, he could only see Khun at the top of the bridge, with one of his light houses shining a few meters above him. So, being sure that Anaak should be hiding in Khun's second light house, something he expected too be below the bridge, he ended up jumping down a height tall enough to kill most regulars and even weaker rankers which weren't using shinsu to reinforce their body if they were to attempt to jump down like him while carrying Khun .

Still, this turned out to be a mistake since although Khun's first lighthouse went down with him as soon as it was out of his range of control, the second one instead went up with Anaak on top of it. Something Khun was able to use only by using a pulley fully made from suspendium, the metal that was used to keep most items afloat in shinsu. Something that would even made a ranker shiver at its cost.

So, having fallen down, Quant didn't have enough time to climb back up without using his shinsu.

But, at the last moment as Anaak was about to reach the exit, Quant suddenly appeared on the bridge almost as if he was able to jump up and rapidly followed by touching the red badge which Anaak had placed on her right side.

Although even the other test instructors were surprised that Quant was able to jump up such a big distance without the help of shinsu, Kaizen knew the truth.

While they were down, Khun had used Laure to push Quant up with a shinsu wave, this in turn led to their defeat. Something Khun had planned from the start so that Baam that was I the other team would be able to qualify for the final exam.

Shortly after that, team B had started their exam, and although most test instructors thought that it was the weaker team, with only Endorsi and Hatsu being noteworthy fighters, the events that happened ended up surprising them a lot.

Different than team A, team B's plans were directed by Endorsi. This was due to most of its members fighting among each other to decide who would be the leader. This has led to Endorsi saying that she will be the leader herself. Something no one dared to oppose.

Due to her fall in the first test, she had missed a few days of class. Because of that, she was not sure whether she had enough points to be one of the four fishermen qualified to enter the final exam. So, to make sure that she was able to pass, she ended up gathering the other two fishermen in her team along with Baam as they headed towards the exit by themselves leaving the others to delay the ranker.

And so, after about half an hour later, just as they heard that a ranker was approaching their first line of defense from one of the lighthouses nearby, Endorsi proceeded to destroy that lighthouse before quickly marking a red circle on the floor with one swing of one of her tools which resembled a miniature red needle.

Thus, the image from the screen which showed the fisherman was cut off.

Meanwhile, another screen was showing Hatsu barely being able to hold on the ranker's arms as he waited for his teammates to attack the ranker from far away. But, with nothing happening in the next few seconds, he realized that he was betrayed by them who had already run away.

After knocking Hatsu down, Quant who was already annoyed due to the events of last round as he became even more irritated to see how the regulars kept betraying each other. So, running as fast he could, he headed towards the area where Rachel, one of the light bearers could be found due to Khun's words to him in the last round just before he was pushed up the shinsu wave.

Meanwhile, the last screen which showed anything was the one where Rachel was, but just after Hoh came to the door of her expanded light house, the images in the other screen were also cut off. Thus, most of those inside the room Kaizen was in could not see anything that happened afterwards.

After more seven minutes had passed, team B had won against the ranker as the test ended.

Afterwards, while Kaizen and the girls were going to eat dinner, they heard the conversation of the other regulars. Apparently, Endorsi had defeated both fishermen injuring them enough for them to be unable to participate in the final exam. Thus, they were disqualified, something that ensured Endorsi's success to qualify for the last exam.

They also heard that a girl named Michele light, the alias Rachel had taken, was injured and was thus sent to the infirmary. While Hoh, the orange skinned man with one horn that was in Laure's team during the crown game, who had injured her had suicided.

And, from what those from team B had said, it seemed that Baam along with Endorsi managed to face the Quant and touch his badge resulting in their win.

Knowing all of this previously, Kaizen proceeded to eat with the girls before heading to the auditorium. Apparently, all regulars were called there to discuss the details of the final exam.

It was quite big, with round circular black tables that extended from one end of the room to another. With red sofas that also extended from one end of the room to another, red walls, and s gray stage at the middle, the room could be said to be quite similar to normal auditoriums, that is, if you were to ignore the fact that the ceiling was high enough that Kaizen could hardly see it.

Taking three seats at the back most elevated table , Kaizen, Areum and Kyong could be seen seating as they waited for Lero Ro to start talking.

After he announced the names of all qualifying regulars, a list which seemed to contain four fishermen including Endorsi and Anaak, four spear bearers, three scouts, three light bearers and two wave controllers. The names of the trio in the back was not announced since they had already earned the right to go to the next floor.

At that time, one of the spear bearers who had not qualified who was part of team B got up and said rashly, "What! What is this? Why am I out? Our team beat the test! How come I am not in there!"

Meanwhile, Hansung Yu standing in the stage with a relaxed face replied, "You don't agree with the results?"

As the brown haired, grey skinned regular continued to shout, "Of course not! Why did I fail? Huh!"

Still not showing anything in his face, Hansung Yu said, "As I said, the teachers' scores are also factors…"

Interrupting him, the regular shouted, "That is bull! Quit the nonsense and change it! I passed! You now how hard I tried on the last tets, you coffee addict!"

Frowning for a moment, before he smiled slightly, Hansung Yu waved his hand indicating for the regular to come to the stage as he said, "Ok, Mr. Murch, if you don't agree with the results, prove that you are talented enough to pass the test. Right here, right now."

As the regular came down to the stage and heard Hansung Yu's words, he asked, "What? How can I?"

As Hansung Yu replied, "It is easy. You just have to make it off of this platform without going crazy."

"What?" Said the regular as his shoulders suddenly snapped. Then, while he fell forward as he suddenly started to scream as an invisible pressure kept on torturing him.

It was not much longer since he started to beg for help as he shouted, "Paracule! Paracule!! Help me! Paracule!!"

Paracule was a green skinned man with yellow hair. He was one of the spear bearers who had passed, and him with the regular on the stage were the ones who had betrayed Hatsu.

This led to Hansung Yu asking Paracule if he disagrees with the result. And, being the betrayer that he was, he didn't even hesitate to say throw his previous friend under the bus as he rejected the test director saying that he totally agrres with the result.

Yet, just then, Khun stood up as he said that he disagrees with the results.

For him who wanted to climb up the tower alongside Baam, he had to ensure that Rachel, Baam's reason for climbing the tower would be able to pass. But, being it that she got injured, she could not take the final test.

This in turn led to Khun requesting for Hansung Yu for him to take the administrator's test.

But, throwing a bucket of cold water on him, Hansung Yu revealed that only irregulars could take them. This in turn led to baam standing up saying that he was an irregular and that he was willing to take the administrator's exam.

Although most people got shocked due to this revelation, it didn't take a long time till Baam was able to get the floor guardian to agree to it.

While he was doing so, Hansung Yu told the other regulars the danger of the administrator's tests along with the dangers of associating with an irregular.

As some of them were confused whether or not to agree to take the test with Baam or to take it individually, Paracule didn't hesitate to disagree taking the test with Baam.

Seeing this, Khun took the opportunity to say that he also disagrees due to him being a son of the Khun family, one of the ten great families in the tower.

In turn, this led to Rak, who had been compressed to a size half as small as a normal man due to mistakenly saying that Hansung Yu is short, to get up and hit Khun in his face as he said, "Hmph. You stupid turtles, all of you are cowering in your shells with fear. That is why you are nothing more than a turtle. You are too scared to lift your heads up. I am following him. I am not afraid of the consequences. I don't want to lose my prey. You all stay and live with your heads stuck inside your shells." Then he proceeded to leave the room.

This in turn led to Anaak and Hatsu aggreging to participate which led to a cascade where all other qualified regulars other than ghost who had disappeared and the three on the top who had already earned their qualifications to agree on it too. This also included Paracule who had vehemently disagrred beforehand.

Seeing all of the regulars leaving while Khun was on the ground, Kaizen who knew Khun was acting like that to convince the others to help got up as he said to Areum and Kyong, "Let's leave for now."

Both girls nodded as they all left. During so, Kaizen saw Rak going back to the auditorium.

While walking back to their rooms, Kaizen asked the girls, "Since this is the administrator's test, we should be able to participate in it. Would you like to do so along with me?"

"It might be interesting." Replied Areum with a smile on her face.

Meanwhile, Kyong nodded as she said, "It might be good to test our skills working together after this month of training."

Nodding to their words, as they had already decided to become part of the same team in the next floor, Kaizen said, "Then, let's hope the test will be interesting."

In the next morning, just after Kaizen finished his breakfast as passed by Baam and said, "I am not sure why, but, that girl Rachel is tricking you, she should be able to walk just fine. Also, be careful of her backstabbing you."

Then, before Baam could disagree with him, Kaizen continued to walk away.

Knowing what will happen, Kaizen wanted to help out Baam. But not being able to explain how he knows that she will backstab him nor having a way to interrupt with the test, he decided to advise him at the very least of Rachel's traitorous nature.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As an hour passed, Kaizen, and the other participating regulars were all standing on top of a blue platform with Lero Ro and Hansung Yu standing in front of them.

"We will know start the final test. The final test is called the submerged fish hunt test." Said Hansung Yu.

Alternative Titles: Rewatching – Don't Areum and Kyung Look More Harmonious Together Than They Should Have Been? – No Mistakes Were Done In Any Chapters, Cough, Sweats, Cough…

Some things came up and I didn't upload yesterday nor today much, but hopefully things will get better in the following days.

Most of this chapter was justcopy paste as a build up of what will come, but still, I hope it wasn't too boring.

Thanks for reading and I would love to read any comments down below.
