Infinite Stride

A young man dies and is reincarnated into the a World based on Tower of God with a few special powers. A few ideas might be taken from Endless Path: Infinite Cosmos regarding the system of power and settings. This is my first fan-fic, so, it might not be that good, but, I will try to make it enjoyable. Also, if you have time to read this, I would advise reading EPIC, it is one of the bests stories I have read. Also, I don't own the cover.

Reincarnation

Surrounded by darkness, Kaizen suddenly woke up startled while saying, "Didn't I just die?", as he starts to remember the pain he had just felt and his body starts to tremble, this time strangely staying fully conscious. And with no one being present nearby to answer him, Kaizen took a look around where he only saw darkness surrounding him with the exception of a sphere of light which shined brightly in front of him. This sphere of light was weirdly attractive to him, almost as if it is part of him. So, he began to move towards it.

As he neared it, the color of the surface of this sphere started to change from white to a rainbow of colors the closer he got to it. Then, just as he touched this sphere, it suddenly enveloped him and all those colors started to surround him till he could clearly see an image of a child being born in a hospital. Following it, he started to see all of his life from when he was a baby till his eventual death. Feeling a bit embarrassed about his behavior as a child, happy at the smiles of his friends and family, and sad at the death of his father, he started to question himself. He was still surprised that he sacrificed his own life just to save another, and that at a time where his father had just died. Although, there were many moments where he was kind to others and helped them, he had never really been heroic, as for most of his life, he was either working on matters that could help himself, or just being lazy. Still, he was happy to see that he could still help others even at the risk of his life, sad to have parted with his family like that, and perhaps, amused by his own stupidity. After all, had the police not arrived at that moment he would have lost his life in vein.

As he passed through a variety of feelings, he started to see his life again from the start, this time, seeing less of the minor things in his life. After many times watching his life replay again and again where each time some of his lesser important memories would fade little by little, some feelings started to attach to himself harder than any others, the first being the happiness of being with his family. The second being his hatred towards himself for causing the death of his father. The third, being his hatred towards his own laziness which caused him to lose his opportunity to become a doctor and was thus partly responsible for his father's death.

It seemed as many thousands of years had passed, he had viewed his life again and again, till this moment where he was nothing more than the smile of his family and the death of his father. At this point he had already accepted his own laziness and started to think that it is something that he should overcome.

Suddenly, he started to feel as if he was going to disappear, after all, only the memories of the death of his father were still replaying, and, that too was starting to fade away. Still, he was quite stubborn to not disappear, so, he held to his last remaining memory with everything he got. After all, he died without achieving much, and to add to that, he died without being able to repay his father, his family nor his friends for everything they had done to him. And so, he didn't want to disappear, at least not like this. He then shouted to himself, " No way I am going to disappear just like that, at the very least, I can't disappear before I can repay everyone, and to do so, even If I can't meet them anymore, I should at least strive to become someone better, and, perhaps help those in need. If I can do that, I think that my family and friends will hopefully be satisfied."

Time passed, a much longer time than what had passed before he started to hold on his last memory, but, somehow, he was sill able to hold on, albeit barely. At this point he had already become too tired, his will reduced to nothing much. But, just as his last memory was about to disappear, everything went black, as he suddenly woke up in a weird room.

Feeling tired from all the time which had passed, his memories quickly came back as he remembered everything which had happened in his life in but a few moments. Following it, his reasoning returned, and so, he started to look around curious to know where he was. The first thing he saw was a majestic man seating on an old archaic silver throne. He was very tall, with yellow hair and a face more handsome than anything Kaizen had ever seen in his whole life. This man only wore a pristine white robe which showed part of his chest and his legs. Even so, no matter how he looked, Kaizen could only think that this man is perfect. He also saw that the room seemed to be quite big with a huge chandelier on top and silver walls with mystic golden engravings on them.

The man himself, took a look at Kaizen and after a few moments started to talk as he introduced himself. "Greetings, I am Orbis, the God of fate, karma and reincarnation. As the stated by the laws of the Overseer, all of those who manage to last for at least a million years should be given a chance to reincarnate with their memories intact."

Then, this God got up as he started to make gestures with his hands to match his talk and continued to say, "As for you, Kaizen Ziel, you have survived for 1,597,009 years, and as such are eligible to be reincarnated with your memories. And, since I have taken a liking to you, I have decided to unlock one of your innate skills."

"Reincarnation, do you mean that I will get to restart my life in another World? Also, what do you mean by innate skills?" asked Kaizen in response.

"Well, in this case, you could say that you will get a new body based on what you believe to look alike, and then you will be transported to this new World, meanwhile, in regards to innates, they are the skills which define the person they belong too, everyone has at least one of them even if they have yet to unlock it. Also, the more innates someone has unlocked the greater you could say that their potential are." Replied Orbis as he took a breath and sat back on his throne and continued to say, "For example, you yourself already have unlocked your first one."

"Wait, I have unlocked one of them already, are you really saying the truth?" asks Kaizen surprised about Orbis' words.

"Of course, after all it itself is one the main reasons you managed to last for such a long time when the average soul can barely last ten thousand years without dispersing, it is something you should be proud about after all, among the souls which managed to last this long less than ten of them managed to last as long as you. Also, just be aware that just as your innates shape you, you also can shape your innates." Replied Orbis as he raised his hand and a blue light suddenly shone on top of Kaizen.

After a few seconds passed, Orbis lowered his hand as the light disappeared and said, "Here I have unlocked one of your innates, for now, all you have to know about it is that it is named identity, and that you will know everything you need to know by willing to activate when you are reincarnated".

Then, at this moment, remembering Orbis' words in regard to reincarnation, Kaizen noticed that he can't see himself or his body, but, before he could ask, Orbis himself started to say, "Since you are only a soul right now, it is only a matter of course that you have no body which you can see, and since, your spirit is not strong enough, you also can't manifest the shape of your body with your soul yet. But don't fret, for your new body will be based on the mental image that you have of yourself".

Following that, Orbis got up again and waved his hand as he said, "That is enough questions, for now, you will be reincarnated, so, farewell, and I hope you are able to live well there".

Then, without being able to say anything, Kaizen's vision suddenly changed as he noticed himself to be In a dark room which had a huge black door, at least taller than most houses, with red stripes and golden engravings in the shapes of runes and drawings covering all of it.

This in turn made him look to himself as he noticed that he could finally see his own body, and although he could not see his own face, he could still see that he had a slim body covered with a casual black T-shirt and white pants. Also, his hair was silver colored and reached to just below his shoulders. All of this made him realize that he had already reincarnated, and so, before doing anything else, he just shouted "Identity" with the intent of activating his skill.

"Wait, positions, regular and shinsu, aren't all of those related to the Tower of God webcomic?" asked Kaizen as he was checking his status. "Also, what do they mean by the parameter being The Heaven's Path?" asked Kaizen aloud before continuing to read his status.

"Also, I don't think I should be surprised at having no shinsu and having a weak status being that I was never very athletic anyways. Still I think Stubborn Will should be the skill that Orbis said that I have awakened, and so, Identity is the skill which is currently showing my status like this, although, I am quite surprised at having the Adapting Body skill, but enough for now, if this door really leads to the first floor of the Tower of God, then Headon should be there, and if I want to proceed I will probably have to pass his test" says Kaizen as he starts to worry, "Still, he should at least hopefully give fair tests if it really turns out that I am in Tower of God world" continues Kaizen as he starts to get a bit more relaxed and maybe hopeful that as long as he doesn't die early on, he should have the opportunity to improve himself.

Here is the second chapter. Thanks for the reading the chapter, and if you have any ideas, suggestions or critics, I would be thankful if you wrote it out.

So, this should be the start of Kaizen's adventure and trials.
