Infinite Regressions In The Tower

Humans all over the world got transported into a strange tower, where they would awaken abilities akin to those of fairytales. And at the same a creature announced that if they did not clear the 50th floor, humans would be wiped out of existence. Kim Taeho was like everyone else, but he had awakened a unique ability. An ability that would make him stronger than anyone else: No matter what I do, no matter how many times I try, I still can't beat this floor because of this skill: - Perfect Clear [X] - If a perfect clear is not achieved, return to the point when you first entered the floor.

Training

One of the elite goblins was faster than the others, but a huge magical shield appeared out of nowhere, blocking its path. The shield trembled as if struck by a bulldozer.

But soon the other goblins charged towards the shield.

Crack!

Cracks started to appear on the shield, and the elite goblins stepped back to charge again.

"Don't just stand there like mannequins". I said while leaning on a tree.

As the goblins charged again, they nimbly dodged to the side.

Shatter!

The magical shield broke into pieces, but the four men had already evaded. They quickly attempted to use their skills against the elite goblins. Bolts of electricity and fire struck the elite goblins, causing burn injuries, but it wasn't enough to kill them.

The elite goblins charged once more. The muscular man tried to intercept them, but blocking three elite goblins at once was impossible. So I dashed forward, knocking one elite goblin into the tree while simultaneously kicking another.

Crack!

The sound of bones cracking filled the air as the goblin flew into a tree. My sword took care of the last goblin. With the fight over, I turned to the four men.

"You guys failed," I said. They looked down, disappointed.

But I couldn't just say they failed. I needed to give them feedback, and areas they could improve on.

"You are not using your skills optimally. Fat guy, can you control how big and where your shield lands?" I stared at the fat guy.

"Yes, it is possible to do that". He nodded in response.

"From now on, try to use your skill more creatively. Instead of just making a big shield wall, make it small so they can trip or that your teammates can hit them with their skills.".

He thought about what I said and agreed.

"Tattoo guy, I have a question for you. What is more efficient, hitting the face or the hand holding the weapon?"

The tattoo guy thought for a minute.

"The hand holding the weapon?"

"Correct! The best place would be any of those spots I mentioned; the problem is that you aimed at their f*cking armor.".

"Did they pay you to hit them there?"

"Electricity guy, do you know what you did wrong?" I asked, trying to contain my anger over the tattoo guys' stupidity.

"No, please teach me".

At least this guy was smart.

"The problem is that you are using your skill too widely".

He looked at me, confused.

"I mean that instead of trying to spread your electricity, you should focus on precise, targeted strikes instead. Like target the elite goblins' vital points".

When I saw him using his skill, he was trying to hit an area as big as possible. But his skill was better if the area was smaller, as it would do more damage.

I looked at the buff guy.

"Just because you have a skill that buffs your stats, you shouldn't mindlessly try to intercept the elite goblins. If you looked at your party members, you would notice that they couldn't attack the elite goblins because they would also hit you".

"I hope you guys have learned something, because you can test your newfound knowledge now".

One of the goblins that I knocked into the tree was slowly getting up.

Maybe it was because of my feedback or that there was only one elite goblin this time.

But with some effort, they finally killed the elite goblin.

I approached the exhausted guys, and I clapped.

"Congratulations, but the night has only begun."

It has been 5 days since the wolf was killed, and as I looked at the clear condition.

[Clear Condition]

- Kill 1000 monsters [912/1000]

It seems like there aren't a lot of monsters left to kill, but the pace really picked up. The players only killed around 50 monsters the first day. But now, on the fifth day, there are only around 90 monsters left.

It was good that the other players have started to adapt, but I knew clearing the floor wouldn't be that easy.

The main camp we set up at the field worked great at first. But as time passed, more players realized that if they did not fight the elite goblins, they would not be able to level up.

So at some point, the only people left on the field were the same players as before the wolf.

The field was still the main camp, but they only came here at night to sleep. As sleeping in the forest was too dangerous to do.

Which is why me and the four idiots have been fighting every single night. Because there was less competition and more monsters to kill.

As I saw the players enter the field, I knew that it was time to go again.

"Get ready; we are leaving now".

I saw the four idiots stand up, and they looked vastly different from day 1.

Now they all had the leather patchwork armor, which they got from the elite goblins.

Not only that, but they were all around level 9 because of the constant killing of the monsters. Because of my guidance and their high level, it was easy for them to kill elite goblins.

They could take on eight elite goblins at a time, which was vastly different from Day 1. Where they could only kill one elite goblin together.

It was safe to say that they were definitely stronger than most people here. They were probably within top 10, if I had to guess.

As we entered the forest, I felt an elite goblin approach.

I didn't say anything as we got closer and closer to it. And they finally realized that a monster was approaching.

Immediately, thunder hit the elite goblin, paralyzing it, and at the same time, the buff guy dashed and swung the great axe, splitting the elite goblin in half.

Fighting one elite goblin was a piece of cake for them. I don't know why, but it felt good that they instantly killed the elite goblin.

It showed me the difference between them today and before. It was like I had created my own bodyguard squad that could kill every elite goblin in sight.

I didn't really have to do anything at all; at this point, I was just insurance.

"Hyung, we are sorry that we noticed the elite goblin so late". The fat guy responded to me.

I don't know why, but the more they leveled up, the more respect they started to show me. Maybe it was because they could feel the difference in our strength, or it might have been because they were grateful to me.

Either way, they are showing me more respect and loyalty than before.

"It will soon be time for 1000 monsters to be killed. Therefore, when there are only a few monsters left, we will wait in the field". I said that.

"But, hyung, isn't it safer to kill 1000 monsters here and observe if a monster really does appear on the field? We still don't know how strong the special monster would be or if it even does appear". The electricity guy asked.

"Good point. But let me tell you something. After I killed the wolf, I got a reward from the system. This time, if a boss does appear again, I want to kill it."

After I answered, they nodded in understanding.

After killing around 50 elite goblins, we stopped hunting to go back to the field.

First, to get some rest, and second, so the boss doesn't randomly spawn at night if it does appear.
