Training(2)

I had a bow in my hands, and my sword was in my sheath.

This should be all I need to be ready for.

I really didn't expect to hit the wolf with my bow, but it's better to have it than not to have it.

I looked at the girl. She was strong, and now that she is here, it should go a lot better than my first time.

The field was empty except for me and her. Which made me happy.

Because the tragedy that happened the first time would not repeat.

Even though my skills caused me a lot of pain, moments like this made me happy that I had them.

So innocent lives that were lost could be saved.

I looked at the clear condition.

[1st floor]

Clear condition: Kill 1000 monsters [493/1000].

493 monsters have been slain, and the battle with the wolf will soon begin.

"If we hold out for 5–10 minutes, reinforcement will arrive".

I said it out loud as I remembered the middle-aged group of people sprinting towards the field, leaving me in the dust.

She nodded, confirming that she heard it.

[Announcement: 500 monsters have been killed!]

[Announcement: A special monster will spawn in the field!]

[Announcement: Monsters will not appear until the special monster has been defeated!]

The announcement finally came, and at the same time, a black portal appeared 200 meters away from us.

The girl instantly got into a battle pose, and the countless weapons she had were dropped on the ground except for the spear.

"I really can't offer much support, so I will try to assist in the back".

I readied my bow and quiver in an archer pose.

Out of the portal, the wolf came out slowly, with his claws first, then his sharp fangs, and soon his whole body could be seen.

Howling!

The pressure that I felt from it was a lot weaker than before, but it was still very strong.

If I had to give it a word, it would be that it was bearable.

The training I did with the angel really gave some amazing results.

The wolf soon noticed our presence, as we were the only ones at the field.

It started charging towards us, and at the same time, the girl also ran towards the wolf.

They quickly clashed, and it was evident that the girl was weaker as she was quickly being pushed back.

The wolf was big; its height was around the girl's.

I realized that I really couldn't help at all; the wolf was too quick for me to land a shot at it.

Even if it was big, it was useless because it didn't stand still like my practice targets.

The wolf soon made an opening and charged towards me.

I quickly panicked, not expecting it to go towards me without finishing the girl off first.

I quickly dropped the bow and unsheathed my sword, just in time.

I blocked one of its claw attacks, but the force was so strong that my hands were hurting just from blocking.

It quickly charged up another claw attack after the block, and I dashed backwards.

Ripping!

I couldn't completely dodge as it clawed my shirt, and a slight pain appeared around my chest.

There was blood dripping, but the injury wasn't that deep.

The wolf was completely overwhelming me with just those two claw attacks.

As the wolf was about to attack, I could barely see the girl attack from behind the wolf.

The spear hit the wolf, but it didn't stop the wolf's attack. As it quickly pounced on me.

I opened my eyes, and a blue sky was visible.

I was lying flat on the ground.

"I regressed again. F*ck."

I didn't learn a single thing about how to control the mana and died pointlessly to the wolf.

Am I supposed to repeat my regressions until we finally kill the wolf, just to make her teach me how to control my mana?

That was not going to work, because that would mean I had to also repeat the days before the fight with the wolf even began.

That would take way too much time, so I need to convince her to teach me how to control my mana somehow.

With that thought, I started trying to convince her.

The angel dropped the weapons and left. I stood up and approached the girl.

"Can you teach me how to control my mana?"

"What are you saying?"

Maybe it was not good to start the conversation like that.

"I have too much mana, and I don't know how to control it".

"What does that have to do with me?"

"Because you are good at controlling your mana".

She gave me an aggressive look.

"How do you know that?" she said in an unfriendly tone.

I started panicking inside my head. If this was a dating game, I was making all the wrong choices.

I could visibly see her favorability rating go down.

I was thinking of what to say before she interrupted my thoughts.

"I don't know how you know that, but I don't have time to teach you".

"What if I give you information about this floor".

"What kind of information".

I repeated all the information, like last time.

"If what you are saying is correct, I will teach you how to control your mana".

'F*ck, it was the same response'.

"How about you teach me now?"

"I can't do that; I don't trust you right now. You could be lying about the information".

That was a valid point, but this run was doomed, so I should at least get some information about her.

"Can you tell me your skill?"

"Why would I tell my skill to someone who I don't trust?"

I kind of expected that answer, but it was worth the shot.

"What's your name and age, then? Can you at least tell me that".

"Kim Bora".

She went to the pile of weapons.

She didn't tell me her age, but that was probably rude to ask about.

"We will meet here when it's time," she said as she went towards the forest.

'Yeah, I don't think we will' I took a dagger from the pile of weapons.

I approached Kim Bora, trying a different approach.

"Hey Kim Bora, is that you?". I said it in the most friendly tone, like I was seeing a friend from a long time ago.

"Are you talking to me?" She said it while looking confused.

"Who else is Kim Bora?". I joked in a friendly way.

"My name is not Kim Bora".

"What???" I was shocked and couldn't believe it.

"I think you have mistaken me for someone else". She said while ignoring my shocked appearance and going to the pile of weapons.

She definitely gave me that name last regression. Was it a fake name?

"Sigh..."

"I have a lot of mana that I can't control, and my skill is telling me that you are the one that is best at controlling it".

She became a little aggressive before when I said she was the best at controlling mana.

So this time, I lied a little.

"Is that right? What is my name then?"

'F*ck' I quickly tried to think of an answer.

"What do you want me to do? Teach you?" She interrupted my thought.

"Yes please"

"I don't have time for that". She responded as she went to the pile of weapons.

I took a dagger from the pile of weapons.

I tried everything, but she wouldn't even tell me her name.

She would not give any information at all. It was super hard to convince her.

I even tried to threaten her, forcing her to give me information.

Why not threaten her to train me instead? Well, I was scared that she would give me malicious advice instead.

In the cultivation novels, if you cultivate wrongly, you could potentially end up killing yourself.

I really did not want to end up like that, which is why I was trying to get information instead.

My thought process was that she was level 1 and I was level 5.

This was the perfect time to strike, as she has not gained any levels yet.

Which, in theory, would mean I was stronger. But that thought quickly got shattered, as she instantly beat me up when I tried the plan.

I don't know how she had so much strength at level 1.

But at the moment, I was a lot weaker than her.

I was about to give up trying to convince her, and that's when my eyes, by chance, saw the girl in a meditation pose.

That's when a brilliant thought struck me like a lightning bolt.
