The Technique (1)

I explained everything to him, and soon he nodded.

"I see, child of the prophecy. How many times have you done this?". 

"This is my first time". 

"Is that so". He sighed, his words tinged with disappointment.

Why did he sound so disappointed?

Was it bad to be the first person to teach me?

"It's time to teach you my technique. Sit down and look at the sky above". He said it nonchalantly.

I did as he told me and sat down to look at the sky.

"What do you see?"

It was still day, so the only thing I could see was a blue sky with some clouds.

"I don't know... clouds".

"That's normal now; close your eyes".

I closed my eyes, and I felt the wind hit my face.

"What do you see now?".

"Nothing, I guess".

"Yeah, this is your future without my technique". He chuckled.

I opened my eyes, and I looked at him.

"Are you serious?" I said I was disappointed.

"Relax; it was just a joke. But now that you have opened your eyes, look at the cloud you saw before".

As I looked at the cloud, it looked completely the same, except that it was just in a different position than before.

"What do you see?"

"The absolute same as before; instead, the cloud has moved a little".

"Yeah, the cloud moved, but why did it do that?" He asked, amused.

How the f*ck am I supposed to know, probably because our earth rotated?

"Because the planet is rotating.".

"Ooh, an interesting answer, but I really don't care why the cloud moved. Do you remember when you closed your eyes?"

"Yes, I remember your bad joke".

"Hahaha, that's true. But try to recall where you heard my voice from." He asked with a playful tone in his voice.

"From where do you stand now?".

'Where was he going with this?'

I could suddenly hear a voice behind me.

"Did you?".

And as I turned around to look at the source, I saw nothing.

When I turned around again,

"Wrong choice; you are dead".

Alderon had a sword pointed towards my throat.

"While you were closing your eyes for the first time, my sword was pointed towards your neck.

I wasn't kidding when I said that you would see nothing without my technique".

Did he really have a sword around my neck this whole time? I had a shocked face.

He withdrew his sword and floated away.

"The other successors had the same reaction. It's funny every time, but I feel sad for the future versions of me".

'What was the point of doing all of this, though?'.

He looked at me with a smirk.

"I can guess that you are probably thinking, What is the point of me doing this? Well, don't worry, it's part of my technique.

Usually it's very boring in the early stages, but there is a reason that it made me ascend".

He floated towards me, and as we had eye contact, I noticed something different.

He pointed toward his eyes.

"Look".

His eyes were a swirling cosmos of glittering stars and nebulae; it was like a miniature galaxy contained within his eyes.

"This is my special technique, and one that you will learn".

That looked so overpowered that I couldn't believe it. It looked like a whole galaxy was contained within his eyes, and I am supposed to learn that.

"Obviously, I will only teach you the early stages; the rest has to depend on you".

How am I supposed to learn that? It looked like something that was passed on in his clan.

But I wasn't technically part of his clan.

"The phoenix that flew inside you is all you need".

Seemingly like he saw through my worries, he answered the question.

But how did the phoenix correlate with me getting those eyes?

"The only thing I will teach you is the ability to see without seeing. After that, you can find out the rest".

'The ability to see without seeing?'.

What does that even mean?

"Well, let's begin. Close your eyes".

As I closed my eyes, I tried to imagine what he wanted to teach me.

"Do you know why you couldn't see me before?". He said it with a relaxed voice.

"Because my eyes were closed." I said this while opening my eyes.

And the look I saw was completely shocking.

He was in the act of pulling his pants down.

"Wait, who told you to open your eyes?" He exclaimed with a voice filled with surprise.

"What the f*ck are you doing?" I said it with an even more surprised voice.

"I wanted to prank you, but now that you've opened your eyes, it's not going to work anymore". He said he was disappointed while he pulled his pants up again.

"A prank? What kind of prank requires you to pull your pants down?". I said it with a dumbfounded voice.

"A funny prank that you won't be able to experience because you opened your eyes. But it doesn't matter now; close your eyes again". He spoke, the letdown evident in his voice.

Is he actually serious now? Close my eyes again after he just did that.

That was impossible.

"What do you mean, close your eyes? Are you insane? I won't close my eyes until you explain what your prank was". I retorted sharply.

"Fine, when you closed your eyes, the next time you opened them, the first thing you would see would be my ass. That was the prank, but it doesn't matter now, does it?" He grumbled.

What kind of sick prank was that? I thought he was an amazing figure, but the more time I spent with him, The more my opinion about him changes,

When I looked at him, he had an annoyed expression. Probably because the prank failed.

'But maybe pranking me was a good thing'. If I tried to see things from his point of view,

His clan and his whole planet have ended, yet when I look at him,

"So are you going to close your eyes or what?" He interrupted my thoughts.
