Infinite Regressions In The Tower

Humans all over the world got transported into a strange tower, where they would awaken abilities akin to those of fairytales. And at the same a creature announced that if they did not clear the 50th floor, humans would be wiped out of existence. Kim Taeho was like everyone else, but he had awakened a unique ability. An ability that would make him stronger than anyone else: No matter what I do, no matter how many times I try, I still can't beat this floor because of this skill: - Perfect Clear [X] - If a perfect clear is not achieved, return to the point when you first entered the floor.

We continued ahead, and soon Park Junsu stopped me.

"Hey Taeho, what did they really do for them to fear you so much".

"Well".

I explained everything that happened and how they attacked us.

"I see" He scratched his head, trying to make sense of it all.

"What if they attack us again? I don't think it's safe for them to be here," he asked after thinking for a while.

"Don't worry, I have everything under control". I said confidently.

"I'll trust your judgment this time. But make no mistake—if they cause any harm, they're out of here," he warned.

"That won't be an issue," I agreed with a firm nod.

With the matter settled, he bid me goodnight and departed.

I went back to the troublemakers, and on the way, I thought about what he said.

A good night's sleep? I was not going to sleep tonight. Because if I did, it could have serious consequences.

They could escape out of the field while I was sleeping. They could injure other people and cause massive damage.

Therefore, sleep is out of the question; somebody needs to keep watch. As I approached the group, they stopped kowtowing.

"Did I tell you to stop?"

The tattooed man looked up hesitantly. "Isn't it time for rest?"

I stared at him,

"Sleep is for normal humans; go back and repent again". I responded with a commanding tone.

If I couldn't sleep, neither would they. They quickly went back to their positions.

I sat down a few meters away to keep watch. Time passed, and soon I could hear snoring sounds from the group.

I stood up and kicked them to wake them up.

"Did I tell you to sleep?"

They woke up in shock as they stared at me.

"This is inhumane; please let us sleep; our bodies are so sore after being on the ground for so long". The buff guy tried to beg.

"Well, you shouldn't have attacked us then". I reminded them coldly.

"We are sorry. We will never attack anyone again".

I turned a deaf ear to their pleas and walked back to my usual spot.

"Go back to reflecting."

They went back and kowtowed again. Time passed, and the sun was rising.

Soon, Park Junsu and his group went to explore again.

This was the third day, which meant that the wolf would soon spawn. So before it appeared, I needed to make some preparations.

I went to the group of four people.

"You guys can sleep now".

They looked at me with tired faces and started to thank me with whatever energy they had left. They quickly stopped their kowtowing and tried to sleep.

Even though we were awake for an equal amount of time, I was not as tired as them. Which was because of my high stats. It also made me less tired than normal people.

But the reason I told them to sleep was so that they couldn't escape while I was fighting the wolf. It would be a disaster if they suddenly escaped like that girl.

Why didn't I let them fight the wolf?

Well, letting them fight the wolf was just the death penalty; they were not strong enough to fight it. It would just be me giving free snacks to the wolf.

The spot they were sleeping at was distant enough for them to not be targeted by the wolf.

After letting them sleep, I told the other people to stand as far away from the middle of the field as possible.

There wasn't a need for them to leave the field, because the only risk was that the wolf would target them.

And now that I have fought the wolf so many times, I know it well enough. If it even tried to target the other people in the field, it would just die way faster than last time.

Because it would give me an advantage to attack it while it was targeting other people. But I knew that the wolf wouldn't give me that advantage.

Therefore, letting the elderly stay in the field was safe. As long as they are as far away from the middle as possible and don't try to attack the wolf.

After making sure that there were no people close to the middle of the field, I looked for a specific sword from the pile of weapons.

I quickly found the sword with a bear and green handle.

"This is it". It was also the same sword that I used to kill the wolf with. If it was possible, I wanted to also bring this sword with me in the future.

But now that I had my sword all I had to do was wait for the wolf to spawn.

I looked at the clear condition.

[Clear Condition]

Kill 1000 monsters [487/1000]

There were only a few goblins left till it would spawn. As I waited a few more minutes.

[Announcement: 500 monsters have been killed!]

[Announcement: A special monster will spawn in the field!]

[Announcement: Monsters will not appear until the special monster has been defeated!]

Ripple!

And just like all the other times, the wolf stepped out of the portal.

I looked around to see that all the other people on the edge of the field had tense faces.

"Don't worry, I will kill the wolf; do not use any skill!"

I shouted to make sure that they wouldn't use any skill that could accidentally affect my battle with the wolf.

The wolf soon locked eyes with me, and with a predatory burst, it charged

But I was so used to its movements that I dodged to the side with ease and attacked it, making a big wound.

It whimpered in pain, but I quickly attacked again. It tried to block and dodge as much as it could.

"Hurry up and transform if you don't want to die".

I taunted it on purpose, and I saw it quickly dash back.

It soon landed, and I knew that it wanted to transform. So as it was in the middle of its transformation, I used my skill and reappeared next to it.

Slash!

And I decapitated the wolf's head. The battle was much easier than before.

Using the skill was more effective than I thought. I still couldn't use it properly, but just using it to appear next to it was enough. It didn't have time to react to my attack at all.

After I killed the wolf, the same announcements as last time appeared again.

[Announcement: The special monster has been killed; new enemies will spawn.]

[Announcement: You have levelled up!]

[Announcement: You have killed the special monster as the biggest contributor; please choose a reward.]

[Elixir of Endurance]

[Elixir of Agility]

[Elixir of Strength]

[Skill 'Wolf Dash[C]']

[Skill 'Regeneration[C]'].

I ignored the announcements as I focused on one thing.

The reward window appeared in front of me.

My question was finally answered.

I could keep getting rewards even after I chose the 'wolf dash' skill.

This was a very nice surprise, because it meant that I could keep killing the wolf to get all the rewards that it had to offer.

Well, now that my doubts were answered, there was no need to be picky anymore.

So I clicked on the reward that would benefit me the most right now.
