1 A new cause
I woke up another early and dreadful day in which I had to go to work.
"Sigh."
Brushing my teeth, dressing, and all the other stuff I have to do just to live the same day over and over. Once I got to work, nothing was new, just your typical retail job putting freight up. I headed to the break room to take my lunch.
"Hey Jol, how have you been?" exclaimed Matt
"I could be better, but it is what it is nothing new," I said while looking down
A loud beep came out of the TV.
"Breaking news all airports and sea travel have been postponed due to an unexpected phenomenon it seems the world has become flat!! While we don't know what's caused this the government is looking into it at the moment. More news to come regarding this situation soon."
Wonder, bewilderment, excitement. All these things were in my mind. I wondered what this could mean. It's the first time I'm so curious about something, and I couldn't wait to hear more. I headed home for the first time in years excited to look at the news I turn on the TV and they are already talking about the weird phenomenon it turns out that it wasn't just strange the world became flat. In all actuality, it started to grow wider new land appeared already with new animals and plants never before seen. Still, the government refused to let citizens travel.
(Could this mean I could eventually leave this modern tedious life for freedom and adventure) I wondered
The next day still was the usual, yet I was excited. I wanted to get enough money to travel.
"Hey Jol, did you watch the news about what's going on with the world?" Asked Matt
"Yeah, I'm so excited once they raise the travel prohibitions. I'm going to leave this country. What about you?" I asked excitingly
"Nothing will change much. I have a family here, and traveling sounds like a pain with all that's going on." Matt explained
"Oh....yeah, that makes sense," I said with a low tone
(What am I thinking about? I don't need anyone to travel with. I can do it on my own. I just need to save up the money to get out there)
Once I got home, I thought how could this even happen shouldn't gravity have changed? Shouldn't the internet and cable be out? None of this makes sense.
(Well, it shouldn't matter. People will find out the reason eventually)
For the next few months, all I've done is save money the news hasn't changed much and there are still restrictions to travel luckily it will only take a few more months to be able to afford a boat.
(No matter what I'll leave this place travel restrictions or not)
"Today's latest news turns out some people have gained a mysterious power in which they can create things out of thin air we call these ability users mages and we call what they use magic it seems after the latest phenomenon people have been able to use a mysterious power."
(No way!!!! Guess they couldn't come up with a unique name for it but whatever. I wonder if anyone can just do magic could I do it?? I should at least try.)
I raised my palm and tried to imagine the water appearing before me...nothing happened I keep trying but to no avail.
(What if I think of how water or h2o is formed?)
I imagine hydrogen and oxygen molecules forming and a water droplet appears in front of me.
(Yes!! I would have never thought that thinking about how water is truly formed has worked in making it work in magic. It's quite odd though the news said that some kids can use magic it's unlikely to have been the same way I used magic maybe there are different ways to perform magic. All well all that's left is to train my magic and to earn some cash.)
