Chapter 13
<4 years later>
I am flying in the air exchanging blows with Anais as part of our practice, It has been a bit over 4 years since I decided to increase Anais power level, not much has happened really the most notable changes are my training for Anais and her decision to leave the orphanage like I did, I made a home for her with magic I could have let her stay with me but the matron would not stop saying stuff about a boy and girl living together alone not being acceptable which I could never understand as we weren't even teens when it happened but hey anything to get her to stop complaining.
I got tired of the same method of training so I decided to practice restraining my power level to slightly lower than Anais' level so we could fight on even levels and for the first time since I started training I was able to have fun, the thrill of getting hurt and sending back attacks of equal strength was exhilarating to say the least but after a few fights I was able to memorize her fighting style and create counters due to my increased intelligence and eidetic memory so I would occasionally reduce my strength to a lower level to continue enjoying the fight and that's what we are doing right now, we are far from the village so our Ki blasts are unlikely to kill any one as I have also made sure to check there were no Ki signatures within the area.
The fight mostly consisted of me avoiding her attacks and countering while my power level is only about 100 as I kept adapting to her strength despite the obvious disadvantage fortunately, she was also talented and noticed I was adapting to her techniques, and she was also growing and made changes to her techniques so it wasn't always boring and occasionally she would surprise me.
Anais continued trying to punch me but I kept avoiding but I noticed she was mostly aiming for my face and I cant help but get annoyed, was there something she was trying to say because unfortunately I can't feel any emotion when she aims for my face so I can tell it is a subconscious action which means she just wants to hit my face because I'm good looking, I should test it on others if I can get the chance and maybe I can, before I could finish the thought I got hit in the chest and got blasted back and she tried to follow up but I regained my bearings and went back to countering and dodging
Anais: "You were distracted Tatsumi, is fighting me so boring that you are able to have other thoughts? Maybe your face isn't the only thing I should aim for"
She said while looking at my crutch and I couldn't help but get shivers, over the years Anais has become more confident in herself and is no longer a meek little girl as I made sure to drill in the kind of confidence one that wields strength is entitled to however I didn't know she had a sadistic side and it would occasionally slip out once in a while, I would not stop her from expressing herself but once in a while she would show more arrogance around me than I would tolerate and so naturally I would have to let her know her place, after all these hands are rated E for everybody but I couldn't help but be worried as one day I noticed a skill popped up on her status, yes, the skill was masochism, fortunately it seems since she hasn't reached puberty the skill value is still low and I didn't want to be the reason that the value went up so I would instead only use my Ki to pressure her when she acts up around me, another skill that popped up was sadism the value is much higher than the masochism but its not my business to look into it, I can only say my condolences for those that she has to fight as it seems they wont be able to live peacefully when she is done with them
Tatsumaki: "Don't get ahead of yourself, if not because I needed some way to release all this energy, I have stored up you would never get the chance to land any hits on me no matter how powerful you get so I will make it clear now, always know your place, eventually I will reach the limit to how much I can tolerate your arrogance. Confidence with the strength to back it up is good but without the strength to back it up is arrogance and you would be wise to remember not to be arrogant in my presence do I make myself clear?!"
Anais: "y-yes, I'm sorry it just happens I can't control it sometimes"
Tatsumaki: "well you should find a way to deal with it while we are on our journey, I have decided to leave the village soon, it's already been a few months since my birthday, so we are both 12 and ill be 13 in a few months, the adults have no more excuses as to why we can't leave, lets back"
I undo the restrictions I placed on myself and flew back to the village at a speed no less than Mach 3, it didn't take long to arrive in the village, the village had changed a lot which had my handiwork all over it, I got tired of seeing the village look like it was made centuries ago by the standards of my original earth so I decided to upgrade all the houses in the village to kill boredom and increase my proficiency in magic, there were some people that chose not to as their homes were passed down to them by their families and they didn't want he history to die in their hands which I could respect others didn't waste time to get home that let them feel good about themselves.
I decided to head to the new village chief's home, yes unfortunately the previous chief passed away due to old age and as a man that had my respect, I attended his funeral and used magic to make sure that even if there was an earthquake his resting place would not be damaged in any way. The new chief had opened the door after hearing my knocking.
Tatsumaki: "Yo, came to tell you I will be leaving the village not too long from now"
New village chief: "I see, I guess this day was destined to arrive I don't think there's anything we can do to get you to stay is there?"
Tatsumaki: "NO, I won't be able to achieve my goal by staying in the village and I have done more than what was necessary for the village to prosper heck I even made the farmland more fertile there is nothing else I can do for the village even if you had me stay"
New village chief: "I'm sure we could have found a way to gain something else out of you after all like the former chief said you are our lucky charm"
I snorted in displeasure over him reminding me of the nickname they gave me years ago
Tatsumaki: "I wonder is becoming the village chief makes people crafty, you remind me of the old man anyways I just came to tell you Anais and I will be leaving soon, and it will be sudden so don't be shocked when you no longer see us around"
New village chief: "Do you not wish to say goodbye to the villagers?"
Tatsumaki: "I find goodbyes unnecessary and pointless; I can't say it was the best experience but that's for looking after me for all 12 years of my life here hope you guys don't find a way to fuck up all the hard work I did"
New village chief: "sigh I don't know where you got the bad language from but don't worry, I will make sure that we continue to prosper even without you here, I hope you are able to achieve your goal, goodbye Tatsumaki"
I went back to my home to pack up, naturally I'm not going to get a suitcase to put my stuff in when I can just use a capsule to store them, that's right after saving enough money I was able to get some of the storage capsules from the capsule corporation and all I can say is these things are useful, I decided to have a look at my status before meditating to kill time as it is a new habit I picked up trying to imitate Jiren the Gray
