A groan filled the silence before Kim Jihun smacked the analogue clock off the nightstand with the back of his hand. 

The blinking screen hissed at him before blacking out. The back cover skidded beneath the bed, scraping at the wooden floor. Even in his sleep, Kim Jihun's frown deepened at the noise.

Strands of ink-black hair tickled his brows, long lashes quivering in discomfort. 

The battery took its sweet time rolling across the floorboards before the irritatingly loud rattle was muffled by the claws of the fluffy carpet.

Good riddance.

The world behind his closed lids was still swimming in darkness. 

His brows knitted as he rolled on his back. 

It was too early for the alarm to ring.
