Chapter 41 - Selecting bonus ability and Selling Scrolls

Sheyan named the shop and a board appeared above the shop's door saying 'Scroll Mega Mart'.

"Now Charl and Krist let me fill you both up with some information." Sheyan said and told Charl and Krist about the nightmare realm, parallel worlds, his present world, missions and all.

"Soo Amazing, so our world isn't the only one." Krist spoke with shining eyes.

"We can travel to different worlds with sir in future." Charl spoke also with shining eyes.

"Yes, that's pretty much all you need to know." Sheyan said.

The door of the shop opened, Sheyan and the girls looked towards the door and saw a big man and petite girl entering the store.

"Hello, i saw the name of your shop, do you have an light firearms mastery scroll here?" The guy asked.

Girl looked around the store with curiosity and soon her eyes widened in surprise.

"Dear!, look around us!." She screamed.

"What happened dea...." Guy asked while looking around but his words stopped in middle.

There were pile upon piles ability scrolls, inquiring their properties he could see all types of them from basic to advanced, from fluency to mastery.

All types of scrolls were laying on the shelfs around them.

"Did we come inside a treasure trove of some big party or something?" The guy muttered in shock.

"Hello customers, yes we have a light firearms mastery scroll, you can buy it with just 12000 utility points." Sheyan spoke with a smile.

"What! Just 12000 for a mastery scroll." The girl exclaimed loudly.

"I would like it if both of you keep your voices down, this is a prestigious shop not some open market." Sheyan spoke with a smile but his words sent down shivers to the guy and girl's bodies.

"Ye- yes sir, i am sorry for our rudeness." The guy quickly Apologized.

"No problem." Sheyan replied with a smile.

"We would like to buy a light firearm mastery scroll sir." The guy spoke.

"Krist, you will be the sales woman, go deal with them, and act like a certified sales woman okay." Sheyan spoke to Krist.

"Yes sir." Krist replied and walked up to the couple.

"Please come with me sir." She spoke and walked ahead towards a particular shelf.

The couple quickly followed her.

"Here we got 22 light firearms mastery scroll sir, how many do you want?" She asked acting like a perfect sales woman.

"We-we just want one." The girl replied, the woman in front of her was so pretty, that she felt inferiority complex for a moment. Nightmare realm doesn't hide the faces of servants, so krist and Charl's features weren't hidden by the fog.

"Okay mam, please pay 12000 utility points at the counter." Krist spoke.

"Charl you sit on the counter and collect money." Sheyan spoke.

Charl quickly walked to the counter and sat on it.

"Uhh miss i wanted to know if we could pay with something else instead of utility points." The guy spoke after hesitating a little.

"Sir?" Krist turned around to look at Sheyan.

"We deal with only utility points." Sheyan spoke with a smile.

"Oh okay sir, we will go and arrange utility points right away." The guy spoke and quickly ran out of the shop with his girlfriend.

"Sir what is this utility points, and what was he talking about giving something else." Krist asked.

"Utility points are currency of nightmare realm but contestants trade with many other things like potential points, Achievement points and even the equipment and crucial information." Sheyan explained.

"So we don't need those other points?" Charl asked.

"No, there is not much need of other points for now atleast." Sheyan replied.

Sheyan suddenly remembered something, when a contestant's true attribute points reach 20 point mark without any buff from equipment they can choose a bonus ability.

Sheyan inquired about this to his nightmare imprint.

[ Yes, contestant no. 1018 is qualified to choose a bonus ability for his perspective sense, intelligence, spirit and charm attributes. ]

'Then let me see the options quickly.' Sheyan spoke to the nightmare realm mentally and closed his eyes, not paying any attention to changes happening in his shop which was slowly filling with more customers.

[ Your basic attribute: Perspective sense has purely exceeded 20 points without enhancements from additional equipments. ]

[ You receive an additional basic attribute reward. ]

[ A) Basic attribute reward I (Passive): 'Sense enhanced' You will be able to sense danger coming towards you earlier by half second.]

[ B) Basic attribute reward I (Passive): 'Sense muddler' Your targets will sense your attack later by half second. ]

'First one is for passive guys or someone with high agility, sensing the danger half second earlier can help them dodge the attack. While the second one is for attackers like me. Sensing the danger coming at me half second earlier won't do much good, but other sensing my attack half second later is enough for me to kill them or atleast severly injure them.' Sheyan thought and selected B option.

[ Your basic attribute: Intelligence has purely exceeded 20 points without enhancements from additional equipments. ]

[ You receive an additional basic attribute reward. ]

[ A) Basic attribute reward I (Passive): 'Mental fury' Increases your mental/magical Damage dealt, Damage increase is based on 6% of your maximum MP value. Damage increased won't exceed 20 points. ]

[ B) Basic attribute reward I (Passive): 'Calm Man' +100 points to your maximum MP. ]

'Just 20 points damage increase at Max? B is much better for me.' Sheyan selected B directly.

[ Your basic attribute: Spirit has purely exceeded 20 points without enhancements from additional equipments. ]

[ You receive an additional basic attribute reward. ]

[ A) Basic attribute reward I (Passive): 'Sprit Blaze' You mental/magical attack power will be increased by 30 points.]

[ B) Basic attribute reward I (Passive): 'Sprituality' Increases your MP restoring speed by 10%]

Sheyan selected B again.

[ Your basic attribute: Charm has purely exceeded 20 points without enhancements from additional equipments. ]

[ You receive an additional basic attribute reward. ]

[ A) Basic attribute reward I (Passive): 'Charming' Basic affection of all characters +10 points.]

[ B) Basic attribute reward I (Passive): 'Tamer' chances of taming a creature +5%. ]

'Hmm about this one, i don't think i would be taming any animals. I choose A.' Sheyan thought and selected the A option.

[ You are done choosing the additional basic attributes reward, your achievements points have already reached the standard to promote your rank, please go to the designated spot to get your military rank. ] Nightmare imprint spoke.

'Right, there is that Military promotion too, having a higher rank will unlock more items in nightmare realm's store and privellages such as easier interaction with storyline characters, forming a better party, better discounts in store, etc. I will go and get the promotion in a while.' Sheyan thought.

"Sir!" Suddenly he heard krist calling him.

He came out of his thoughts and opened his eyes.

"What is it Krist?" Sheyan asked.

"Sir these people are talking about some bigger deal and wants to talk with you personally." Krist spoke and gestured at the three people standing at a little distance.

Sheyan looked at the people, 1 male and 2 females.

"What bigger deal?" Sheyan asked.

"We want 10 light firearms mastery scroll, 10 Heavy firearms mastery scroll and 10 martial art mastery scroll." The guy in the middle spoke.

"Okay pay 360000 utility points at the counter and get your scrolls." Sheyan replied with a smile.

"We are from silver mansion party, how about giving us a discount and we will let you join our party or look out for you if we meet you in nightmare realm worlds." The guy spoke.

"360000 utility points, thankyou." Sheyan answered with the same smile.

"Did you hear what we just said!?" Girl at the right questioned loudly.

Krist and Charl immediately stopped moving and looked at the girl who just shouted at their sir, their hands slowly started to morph into their laser balsters.

Sheyan made a stop gesture at them before continue speaking.

"I don't care which party you belong to, if you want to buy the things then buy them with utility points, otherwise fuck off before i use nightmare realm's authority to send you back." Sheyan spoke in a cold voice.

"You! You dare to speak like this with us, we will see what you will do, if we meet you in nightmare realm world." The girl at the left spoke.

"Let's go, we will inform the leader about this." The guy in middle spoke and left with the girls.

"If guys like them come again then send them off directly, no need to disturb me." Sheyan spoke to Charl and Krist.

"We are sorry for disturbing sir." Charl and Krist spoke quickly.

"Okay, tell me how many scrolls did you sell?" Sheyan asked.

"The couple from before bought a light fire arm mastery scroll sir, a guy came and brought Martial art mastery scroll after them, we received 24000 utility points from them." Charl replied.

"Good going but i think since we are in a shop other contestants don't know what we are selling, i think we should make something to let them know." Sheyan spoke and an idea quickly appeared in his head.

"Nightmare realm, set a board outside my shop with the words 'One time bumper sale, ability scroll from basic to advanced and fluency to mastery at the cheapest price you will ever find. Come quick before it ends.' and make it shine a little." Sheyan spoke to nightmare realm.

[ 1000 utility points will be deducted. ] Nightmare realm replied.

"Do it." Sheyan spoke.

A shining board soon appeared outside his shop with the words he just spoke.

Soon contestants who were moving around the market saw the board.

"Cheapest scrolls we will ever find? From basic to advanced, let's check it out." A male spoke after reading the board.

"It seems like a marketing strategy to me, i don't think scrolls gonna be any cheaper." A girl spoke.

"Anyways let's go inside and find out, mastery and advance scrolls are very rare, i didn't see any even after moving around the market for half a day." Another guy spoke and entered the shop.

Other contestants also followed him inside.

Sheyan looked at the entering Contestants with a big smile, Krist and Charl got back to their post and received the customers.

"Hello beauties, i saw the board outside, where are the cheap advance scrolls?" A guy asked.

"Advance scrolls are on fifth sixth and seventh shelves, right there." Krist answered while pointing towards the shelves.

Contestants walked to the shelves and looked at price.

"WHAT! Advanced scrolls for only 10000 utility points!" The girl yelled after looking at price, other contestants also looked at the price with wide eyes.

"I want to buy the advanced long range scroll." A guy quickly came back to Krist and spoke.

"Please pay the bill at counter and get your scroll." Krist smiled politely.

Other contestants heard her too and moved to the counter in a hurry and made a circle around the counter.

"Me first, give me the scroll." a girl screamed.

"I came at the counter first, give me the scroll." Another guy spoke. Although it looked like there were many scrolls here, but advanced scrolls always came in low supply, getting one before is much better than waiting for others to get it.

"Stand in a line, don't crowd around the counter or you will be kicked out." Sheyan spoke lightly, but his words rang in everyone's ear.

Everyone looked at the guy who was sitting quietly at the far end of the shop, like them his face was also hidden by smoke but some of them had a higher perceptive sense than others, they could feel the danger surrounding this guy.

Contestants with high Perceptive sense quickly got in a line, others looked at them in confusion but being in nightmare realm they were still much smarter than average folks, they understood something is wrong and also got in a line.

People paid the utility points and took their scrolls one by one, some bought the advanced scrolls, some mastery scrolls and some intermediate ones. Sheyan's utility balance was quickly increasing.

The people who went out of the shop after buying the scrolls quickly contacted their friends and party members to tell them about this shop which was selling the scrolls at the cheapest price they ever saw.
