139 Ready To Speak

Miguel sat in a chair in Gemma's hospital room watching her as she slept. She has been sleeping for the past four hours and the doctor said not to disturb her. He already sent Auntie Sophie home, and he promised to call her when Gemma wakes up and also to call her family, but he only has plans of doing the former. He will only call her parents when he was done talking to Gemma.

She looked peaceful as she slept, breathing slow and steady as her chest rose and fell with each breath. He reached out and held her hand, and gently brushed his thumb over her knuckles. Gemma sighed in her sleep and he stopped, he didn't want to wake her but he couldn't resist reaching out.

Letting out a breath, he looked out the window, it was beginning to get dark outside, and a few stars already began to appear in the skyline. His thought went back to those nights he had to spend at the hospital with his mother, praying for her recovery after what Russo did to her.
