1 Eerie silence

Ever since the pandemic the government has been strict with all its rules. I for one being in a boarding school ,it forced most of our teachers to live within the school. Once we got in the compound there was no getting out until the closing date. Any form of communication was cut off with the outside world, in the middle of the semester. Lights would often go off at times and school became a boring living hell. Everyone longed for the break, even the teachers.

My name is Stacey by the way and this is how life can get pretty scary. At times while I'm in class ,I stare out of the window admiring the beautiful scenery set by the many trees forming a forest. one could see two electricity main points and the clear blue skies, sometimes pale orange. Day after day I'd notice something different like a tiny figure on one of the poles ,then it would disappear. As the days went on ,the closing day neared. Until it finally reached and we all assembled in the hall ,excited and ready to go home but there was something about that day. It was silent,too silent and I could not stop staring at the trees,that's when we heard a loud scream that even made the birds fly away.

Tale: Hey! what's wrong?

me: There is something in the woods Tale.

Tale is my twin sister,always by my side ever since birth. We studied in the same elementary school and ended up in the same highschool. Sometimes I always wondered if we would ever get separated. Lucy who was my bestfriend since admission into Daylight Academy, whi was also the principal s daughter answered me,trying to calm me.

Lucy: It's just some goon excited or something, don't worry Stace.

Lucy had not been in school that past day,she had arrived this morning. Lucy would go home alone,since her place was just a walking distance, past the woods that terrified me.

Tale: If you're that scared we can order an uber.

Me: No...no,maybe am just paranoid

We all dispersed for the break but I was hesitant to walk. Lucy and Tale tried talking me out of it, but I had a bad feeling about today.

Lucy: let's go

me: weeeell...let's wait for the others,incase anything happens to them we stay or whatever. We waited for about thirty minutes but nothing out of the ordinary seemed to be happening. Lucy threw her hands in the air and said, " okay am going to pee,( she walks up the stairs to the girls dormitory)

Tale : You know something Stace,my instincts are also messin with me, there must be someth....

before she could finish we had Lucy's scream and curse ,we stood looking for where she had headed to last but she came out .

Lucy: That ugly fat bitch! ugh...I knew there was something wrong with her. I'm going home and getting her fired.

Tale tried to calm her,so that she could know what was wrong," What's wrong Lu?" Tale asked. Lucy lowered her shirt showing us a nasty bite on her shoulder, I was already disgusted, " Bloody!" Lucy then complaining " Ah! It hurts like fuck" . " Calm down and tell us what happened in there after you left, " well,I walk into the girls washrooms and outta nowhere that stupid catress pounces on me and she bites me....you know what, let's go before she wakes up, I hit her with her with the vase."
