In a secluded cave that now held a special meaning for Egon and Adela, she cradled his head close to her heart while trying to reconnect with the reality around her. The ragged breaths and fast heartbeat of her husband began to calm as he held her up with her legs wrapped around him, and she planted kisses on the crown of his head, savoring the moment with closed eyes.

"The sound of your heart beating fast, I can't get enough of it," he whispered with his ear pressed to her chest.
