Chapter 5

My eyes fluttered open and I saw two chocolate mounds above me, I quickly looked in front of me, fearing what the amazoness would do to me if she caught me.

I saw Tiona and Ais engaged in a brawl, I could not keep up, they were disappearing and reappearing constantly. It truly looked like they were the elite of this world. I also noted the time, I seemed to be out for about an hour.

It was then I realized my position. Is Tione giving me a lap pillow? Isn't this reserved for Finn only? I better enjoy it while I can.

I continued watching Ais' bout with Tiona until Ais noticed me watching and put an end to the fight swiftly. Ais was making sure that Tiona was okay, and while she was doing that I decided to get up and stretch my well-rested body.

"Thank you for the break, Tione!" I say as I give her a smile, she replies in kind with a smile of her own.

"It's not that big of a deal, my sister really did put a number on you." Tione replied, I laughed awkwardly and scratched the back of my head. Ais walked up to me.

"Cain, can you keep going?" Ais asked

"Yeah, the rest really helped out." I said. Ais' eyes fell onto Tione, I followed her gaze to find Tione giving a thumbs up with a beaming smile.

Ais walked away and got in position her another duel, we were at it until midday, Tiona and Tione had already left when Ais' stomach made a gurgling noise.

"We should head to lunch!" I suggest, and Ais nods in approval.

  Our way to the cafeteria was oddly quiet, but the more we approached the cafeteria the more it got loud. When we arrived we got food and sat with the other executives. I started eating my food eagerly, I was pretty starving.

"So Squirt how is your first day of training going?" Gareth asks me, I swallow the food that was already in my mouth before answering.

"I think I've been progressing well, though I did have a small mishap in both of the classes." I responded

"Misshaps?" Finn asked, after he asked Tiona and Tione joined us and sat to my left with Tione directly next to me.

"While preparing his first spell, he accidentally shot it in the direction of Lefiya, it almost hit her" Riviera answered for me, and reported to the Captain.

"How about the lesson with Ais?" Finn asked, directed at Ais.

"Tiona hurt him" Ais said matter-of-factly, making Finn turn his questioning gaze over to the Amazonian sisters.

"Ah, uhh, so we overheard you guys talking about a newbie who will be training with Ais and Riveria, so our curiosity got the better of us and we investigated the training area first thing in the morning to find them already fighting" Tione started explaining the whole situation to the captain, Finn let her continue.

"We were allowed to spectate, but after seeing how well he did against Ais, Tiona couldn't contain herself and asked to spar with him, a-" Tione was cut off.

"Cain, what happened in the spar with Tiona" Finn asked me directly.

"Hmm, when we started it seemed like she just teleported in front of me, I tried to block her fist with my sword but she broke through that and then hit me across the arena, I landed and started my attack using my magic and trying my best to fight with my hands, I guess I did pretty well in that because the next thing I remember is her dodging my magic and then waking up from unconsciousness." I left out the detail about Tione's lap pillow on purpose, but everything else was as accurate as possible, Finn turned to Ais to question her.

"Why did you let her spar with Cain? You know she can't control her strength sometimes." Finn asked

"More experience against different styles" Ais answered it seemed fine, if I remember correctly there are few members of the Loki familia who practice unarmed combat. Finn also nodded at her words.

"Maybe we should have Cain practice against one of us each day that he is training with Ais?" Finn asks the group. I nod and see Ais and Riveria nod as well, it seems it's decided I get to fight against the most skilled party in the whole of Orario.

We continued enjoying our food, I made a realization that Loki wasn't here, you'd think she would take advantage of Ais, after a long training session, but she was nowhere to be found.

I was in my room training what I had learned from Riveria in the last lesson, I learned that I can kind of control the intensity of my fire using more or less mind, I also learned that my mind pool rapidly expands each time I experience a Mind Zero. Last time I was only able to use my magic for about 5 hours, this time I was able to go 3 hours with more mind consumption on stronger flames, and I still had more to go, but I decided to not practice too much for the fear that I might actually miss Ais' training.

I waited a bit and my door slammed open revealing my goddess Loki.

"Okay! Let's check up on your progress Cain! I hope to see good results!" Loki said. I was already on my bed so I took off my shirt and laid down on my stomach. I felt Loki hop onto my back, and shortly thereafter I felt a warm sensation envelop my body.

"Oh my me, am I glad I got you on our side!" Loki said as I hurriedly waited for her to print out the information, once I saw it, I was pretty excited as well.

"Oh! I almost forgot Cain," Loki started. I raised my eyebrow in curiosity.

"You are now officially part of the Loki familia, this morning I went to the guild myself and did all the paperwork!" Loki announced. I jokingly started clapping.

"Well have a good night goddess!" I say as I get underneath my covers and drift off into the deep ocean of unconsciousness.

When I woke up I was surprised by the person lying in front of me, it was Loki, I thought she would have left to go to her own room, but here she was, sleeping peacefully in front of me. I got out of bed as carefully as I could to not awaken her.
