{Ottar POV}

I saw the kid on all fours looking helpless, I felt nothing for him, if he can't do this, he does not deserve the goddesses love.

As Goliath was bout to deliver the decisive blow, a column of bright yellow flames assaulted the Goliath and even from afar I felt the temperature rising, Goliath was melted beyond recognition. It looked more like a Minotaur than the Goliath.

The surprise was evident on my comrades faces as Goliath disappeared into black dust leaving behind a well-sized magic stone, I alerted my group that the missions was a success with a signal that I whistled.

Hogni and Heldin rushed to the 18th floor to tell the other team the mission was a success, I approached Cain the target, I suspected he encountered a Mind Zero from the Mind usage during the battle.

I seem to be correct as he was breathing rhythmically on his back, I spot the blade he stuck into Goliath not far from him.

I picked it up and inspected it, I noticed the craftsmanship, it was really second to none, the runes inscribed along the blade as well looked to be done by a master. Such a fascinating kid, I placed the sword back into his scabbard and waited for the rest of the team to come back.

{Cain POV}

I woke up in a bed that did not feel familiar, I leaned forward and found an elf and a goddess sleeping by each of my sides, Lefiya and Loki were asleep using their arms as a pillow.

My gaze shifted to the window where I saw the blue sky of the morning. Good it's still morning, or maybe its morning again?

I inspected myself, I seem to have gone through a Mind Zero, but this time was different, my Mind reserves increased way more than what I would have expected.

My mind wanders to my sword, Yin which was stuck inside of Goliath last I remember, I panic a bit, but I see it leaning against the wall of my room

I decide to nudge Lefiya awake and try to wake up Loki. It didn't surprise me that Loki didn't wake up from my attempts as Lefiya slowly stirred awake. She yawned and rubbed her eye with her hand.

When she eventually noticed me awake she pulled me into a hug. I let her hug me for as long as she needed, I don't know how long I've been gone, but it has probably been a bit. When she stopped I figured it was the best time to get some answers.

"I have some questions." I said, Lefiya readied herself to answer them.

Apparently, I've been out for about 5 days, and I was in one of the rooms that the adventurers guild has for recovery. They had only learned about my admission in here for a couple of days through a random messenger, that I believe Freya planted but its impossible to tell for sure for now.

I was happy with the information I got, so I relented from asking Lefiya anything. Lefiya took it as a sign to ask a burning question she had been holding onto.

"What happened down there?" Lefiya asked, I sighed in response

"I'll tell you, but I would like to also tell the lazy goddess here" I said, I then tried to wake Loki up.

It took a while but eventually, she was up and awake, like Lefiya she also pulled me into a hug, I decided to let her have her fun as well.

"Cain, what happened in the dungeon?" Loki asked

"That's what I was going to explain, and couldn't since you were asleep." I said reprimanding her a bit but still getting to the point. Lefiya and Loki silently waited for my explanation.

"I was going down to the 18th floor, when suddenly on the 17th floor the Freya familia blocked off my exits," I was going to continue, but they had a look of recognition of those events happening.

"They just wanted to make sure I couldn't escape from Goliath, at that time Goliath spawned, I only had 1 option, to defeat it."

Lefiya looked stunned beyond words by my statement, meanwhile, Loki looked like she was excited, and a stupid grin adjourned her face.

"You're just level 1, how can you beat Goliath?!" Lefiya asked.

"No, Lefiya with his skills, its possible" Loki answered her for me

"Defeating it was the last thing I remember before being here, I probably just experienced a Mind Zero" I clarified, trying to make them more optimistic. They nod, they probably already knew.

I stretch and get out of bed, much to the dismay of Loki and Lefiya.

"Shouldn't you be resting" Loki said.

"I did rest, for 5 days, I can rest at the Twilight Manor." I say. They couldn't refute what I said so after I gathered the little things I had brought with me we left.

On the way there my mind wanders to what Hestia is doing, she probably doesn't know what happened to me, is she worried, is she looking for me herself? I laugh at myself since thats something she did in the series for Bell.

Maybe she was looking for me, but she wasn't at the Jagamarukun stand, there is only a couple of other places she could be. Putting that into the back of my mind, we continue on the way to the Manor.

As we arrive Loki whisks me away to my room.

"I need to check your status!" Loki said almost yelling.

"Do you think I levelled up?" I asked her.

"I know it." Loki responded I got ready for the event.

I was lying down on my stomach with Loki on top checking my status anticipating the good news.

"Congratulations on the level up Cain, as far as Developmental Abilities go, you have the choice between, Mage, Strong Body, Luck, Abnormal Resistance, and Hunter. Good choices to start out with!" Loki said and I couldn't agree more. I began thinking about what Developmental Ability I would take.

Mage is the obvious one, along with Strong Body, which will make my fighting style harder to come up against, Luck is a solid option as well. Abnormal Resistance is out of the question because I already have that with my skills. Hunter is less useful than the first three but still an okay pick.

"Hmm, Mage, I believe that's best for me." I tell Loki, I hear her confirmation.

"What?" Loki asks herself.

"What?" I ask Loki.

"It's letting me pick another Developmental Ability" Loki says.

"Well then Strong Body as well." I'm sorry Luck, next time for sure. You might say, Luck was unlucky.

"Okay, well it's done" Loki said and started preparing the parchment that I could look at.

I was a bit shocked, is this another one of my cheats, it's probably coming from, my skill weirdly leveling up, I don't that that's normal.

I checked my status through the Board but saw nothing change, I turned to Loki who was trying to gauge my reaction.

"Loki, I want you to update it again…" I said a bit more menacing than I wanted to.

Loki listened and we got back into position and she started updating my status for the second time.

"..." Loki was too stunned to speak.

"Cain? Did you know this was going to happen."

"I hoped." I responded.
