Small update (not chapter)
I just wanted to talk about a few things related to this story and reply to things people are saying.
1) Peter is really weak.
Yes, he is, I mean, the story did kind of just start, and I didn't like the idea of him starting out with being able to lift like 25 tons, even if that would be the logical thing.
Though a lot of people were complaining about this, so as a small compensation, I will give him passive skills later from the spiderman class that makes it, so each point of strength and dexterity will be worth more than normal. He won't instantly be able to lift 25 tons but still be a lot stronger.
I am personally fine with this as well since he didn't get strong from the start but actually has to level up his class a bit before getting it. I would prefer his strength to come from the system, not things like the spider bite.
Also, once he gets access to dungeons, he will really start leveling up quickly and getting stronger. I mean, he is basically in the comic universe where hulk is theoretically strong enough to destroy entire planets, and Thor can obliterate entire galaxies, so Peter has to be at least that strong, right?
2) Peters intelligence
MC didn't get Peter's intelligence. Sure he will be smart once he levels up some skills, but I wanted him to rely on the system more.
Also, it's not always that Peter is dumb. Like 80% of the time, it's me, the author, that doesn't think about things, and that's what makes him dumb.
Sometimes it feels like the readers are putting way more thought into each chapter than I am.
3) Harem members
So by now, I have pretty much decided on the members being Gwen, Felicia, Rogue, Susan, Wanda, and Silvija.
My goal was to use people that, in my opinion, are criminally underused in stories, with the exception here being Gwen and Felicia, who are used quite a lot, mostly in smut stories over at other fanfiction sites.
Some are saying Rogue, Susan, and Wanda are used all the time, but all I've got to say to that is. "what the fuck?"
Before I started writing, I spent a good five years or more reading stories and fanfiction on average, like 4+ hours a day at least, and I have come across literally one story that used Susan and, at best, three that used Rogue and Wanda. Granted, I usually ignore any story that has less than 200k+ words.
4) Quest failure penalties / Slave to the system.
After getting the quest to save Jack Murdock, people were saying that the penalties are way too harsh and he is a slave to the system.
One of my main goals was explicitly not to make him a slave to the system. The quest penalties aren't all that bad, in my opinion. Stats can be regained quickly, and losing the hand-to-hand combat skill wouldn't be disastrous as he can easily just get it back.
Plus, he, of course, had the option to just decline the quest and get no penalties for that. Most systems would have the penalty just be "Death," with no option to refuse the quest, and that's what I call being a slave to the system. Anything less than that is usually fine by me.
5) Unmasking himself
Why do I want Peter not to wear a mask? I don't know I just don't like the secret identity thing.
This is the one thing that keeps me from reading any DC comics and watching most of their movies. The whole secret identity thing is so lame to me, even if it is useful to the actual hero.
"But what about aunt May?"
I'm not sure. I don't really have big plans for her. There are several options like sending her to live in secret like hawkeye's family (only if Peter joins shield) or killing her off or something.
6) Social Links
I decided not to add the Social Link system from Persona into this story cause I feel like it would be half-assed.
Instead, I'm saving that for a RWBY fanfic where I will plan most of the story around that system.
I just think it's too cool not to be utilized.
7) Last message
IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE, AT LEAST READ THIS PART.
I'm just writing for fun whenever I have some free time, and it's not like I am any good at writing.
The story is made to be something that I, myself, would be happy to read without dropping it, so maybe my taste in books is just weird, lol.
What I say next may come as a surprise to many people, but I am not holding any of you hostage and forcing you to read.
I don't want to be mean or toxic but really, if you don't like it, then feel free to drop whenever.
