Chapter Eight

" mom?"

"Sarah you're not suppose to be here " mom said feigning calmness when her face shows her anger , I shivered and stared at her intensely as she stared back at me. Not knowing if it was real or just my imagination her eyes turned black as her voice echoed "There will be danger soon Sarah watch out"

My mom staggered as soon as the voice died down and her eyes turned normal. I held her arm strongly keeping her from falling .

"mom are you okay?"

she looked up at me tiredly and shook her head "I'm fine I thought your friend was here why did you leave him there"

"he's with those two talkative" she chuckled at my comment and tapped my head lightly

"Silly those talkative are your adorable sisters"

"hmm I bet they are " I said in sarcasm

I took her into her room and lay her gently , covering her with the quilt I whispered slowly and gently caressing her hair.

"Rest well ma"

I and the twins with Jake walked along the roadside my sisters were at the front while jake was walking beside me. He kept fiddling with his fingers.

"why are you doing that?" I asked teasingly

"doing what?" he asked

" that" I said pointing to his fingers he drew back his hands as smiled sheepishly.

'argh I feel like the boy here'

"So will you guys come back?" I asked breaking the awkward silence.

"Ermm I don't think so mom said she got a new job there so...."

"yea I understand it's impossible except she ermm.." I couldn't get to finish my word before she gave me a hard glare indicating the word 'don't complete that statement' I gulped down my saliva and smiled.

"I didn't complete it tho" I shrugged and he shook his head .

" will you be there to see me off?" he asked suddenly.

"I'll see if I can try" he nodded curtly and stared to an imaginary direction.

" won't you tell me about that door we saw at school I mean you just told me it's mysterious "

"yea that's all I know"

"how long have you been in that school anyways" he looked at me and stared up, maybe he's contemplating about it or he just wanted to look up. He opened his mouth trying to say something but then he closed it back as if he's thinking on the word he wanted to say or the words got stucked in his throat .

" Sarah we're here already c'mon add steps to those thin legs of yours we're going to be late!" Danielle shouted .

"Tch" I scoffed while Jake chuckled repeating the words she said.

"Such a foul mouth" I walked faster while murmuring.
