Chapter 8 : Old Friends

After the performance, Li Yue Ying insisted to play with Ye Xiao. Since he was still not officially working, he brought the little girl to his condo to have some quality time.

"Uncle K, your cooking is always the best", praised Li Yue Ying as she was eating the food that had been prepared personally by Ye Xiao.

Ye Xiao who was praised by his own niece smiled sweetly "You sure have the ability".

Li Yue Ying looked at her uncle with her confused look, and it made her cuter.

"Brownosing"

"I don't", she pouted

"Eat a lot little pig"

"I AM NOT PIG !"

"Bunny?"

"Much better"

They laughed together with their non sensical bickering. Hence a silent room soon appeared when the little girl gave him such a remarkable question.

"Uncle K, when will Yue er have Auntie K?"

How should Ye Xiao react? If she was anyone, then he would just give an indifferent  answer or a cold stare yet this was his beloved niece.

"Soon", he smiled.

Not feeling happy upon hearing the answer, the little girl felt disappointed which was shown clearly on her face. Of course, this made Ye Xiao confused as well and couldn't help but asked the reason.

"Do you have someone in your mind?", the cute voice asked.

"..."

"Then, Ms C won't have the chance to be Auntie K."

Ye Xiao was flabbergasted with Li Yue Ying's statement. Ms C ? Could she be , Chen Li Xue?

In a Japanese restaurant, there were bunch of young adults, talking and laughing all their might. Chen Li Xue walked to where they were.

"Hey! Our busy friend has arrived", Yu Sheng Chen said.

"Don't say so, she is a manager. Who are you, Big Bear ?", Shen Yu said. "So, how is it our dear manager?"

Chen Li Xue frowned by their reactions upon seeing her. They were their highschool friends from her hometown. Unexpectedly most of them were working in big companies in other cities. Though, they didn't hold on position like her as manager, yet they didn't earn less than her as well. The difference between them was only Chen Li Xue got more privillege facilities like apartment and car provided by the company.

For the example, Yu Sheng Chen, they called him beig Bear because he was a fatty guy who loved to eat. Though, he was only in his 27, he had opened several restaurants in their hometown. As for Shen Yue, her ex-best friend's ex, he became the representative of gaming company.

The uncomfortable feeling was not only because of their silly reactions, yet between their lines would always be mocks.

"So, have you been in relationship?", asked Min Sheng .

This question would always be asked by Min Sheng. After all, he was one of the pusuers of Chen Li Xue. They ended up being friends were unexpected.

"Do you have to ask that right from the start?", Qi Yu tried to defend her.

"Huh.. let her order first,okay?", said Su Zhen Ting.

Chen Li Xue got to breathe for a moment and ordered food. She had actually wished not to come. However, not coming would be claimed as "busy or arrogant", coming would be mocked. Such a dilemma. After all, she eventually came because she would like to meet Su Zhen Ting after one and half year.

This friend of her was not categorized as best friend, but she was a fun and easy going person. She was a team leader in a bank under Alpha Corporation. They were supposed to meet frequently, but this lady was mutated to H city for awhile. This gathering was actually to welcome her back.

"Woah.. you are getting fairer and fairer. Are you staying indoor all the time?", asked Shen Yu.

"Hmm..you are really getting fairer",Su Zhen Ting said.

"But, your skin tone doesn't look healthy one", Shen Yu attacked.

Chen Li Xue didn't comment anything, she only smiled or frowned the entire time.

"So.. back to the main topic, have you got boyfriend?",asked Min Sheng again.

"Oh gosh Min Sheng, are you trying to hit on her?", Qi Yu joked.

"Not yet", Chen Li Xue answered calmly as she had answered the same thing all the time.

"See.. who asked you to reject us", Min Sheng stated.

Yeah. All of them had ever tried to pursue her, yet she rejected them. All of them. Without any regret.

Yu Sheng Chen was rejected when they were in junior high school. Min Sheng, she didn't know how manya times she had rejected him. Shen Yu had never been rejected because he had never confessed. As for Qi Yu, it ended without any beginning.

"Hmm .. I think she will definitely be with one of us", said Shen Yu confidently.

Chen Li Xue really wanted to puke blood upon hearing Shen Yu's statement, but she decided to retort.

"How come with one of you guys ? Yu Sheng Chen had got girlfriend. Min Sheng will get married soon. Qi Yu and Su Zhen Ting are a pair. While you, are you going to break up ?"

Shen Yu laughed "This girl has never changed. Her tongue has always been sharp."

"Only toward you", Chen Li Xue shot.

She of course wished to find a man who could be in love with, yet she just couldn't trust any men. Trauma ? She didn't feel so, or did she just want to deny it? She also didn't know the answer.

After the uncomfortable meeting with her old friends, she got back to her own apartment. After washing up, she directly climbed the bed. Sleeping? Of course not. She took out her notebook and immersed in it. Not until 12 that she turned it off and slept soundly.

The next morning, like usual. She would changed into her sport attire, tied her hair to ponytail and went to the park nearby her apartment.

She was living in the apartment provided by the company. This apartment was one of the Alpha Corporation's projects. The apartment was part of the elite complex. So, there were several parks in the complex.

Chen Li Xue who didn't like crowd had always gone to the calmer park so she could meet barely anyone there. She jogged for three rounds before going back to her room.
