Chapter 26 : Meeting (2)

Having attended the grand opening, Chen Li Xue went back home to go to another event. She was putting on some light make-up when she received a text-message.

[ I'm heading there]

She halted to reply an "ok" before continuing her current activity. She then changed into a grey T-shirt dress. Her curly black hair was laid down. She took her clutch, put on her black heels and headed to the lobby.

A black sedan car stopped right in front of her. She immediately got on the car to meet the confused eyes of the owner.

"What?"

"They will feel disappointed"

Chen Li Xue glared at the man. She remembered the embarrassing moment in the previous event. She who had always maintained a classy and simple outfit was overdressed in his company's party. Actually, she only put on eye-liner and red lip gloss with her floral dress, but of course she would stand out very much in a party where everyone wore grey or black.

Having experienced the low-profile company's party, she decided to wear something that would fit the company's image as well.

Zhang Wei who saw her grief expression couldn't help but chuckled. He patted her head softly and drove to the venue.

During the drive, Zhang Wei occasionally looked at her. Looking her haggard face, he said "Take a nap, I'll wake you up later."

" It's okay, I just feel a little tired"

"Ah, didn't you say that there is another new investor?", she asked when she suddenly remembered that Zhang Wei had informed her about the new invetor.

"Yes, thanks to this investor that our new product will be launched in M Country as well."

"Really?"

"En, he is really a talented one. He is only 34, but he is a respected figure in M country's business world."

Listening to Zhang Wei's explanation about this new investor who succeeded in his young age, she couldn't help but thought of a certain someone who also succeeded in a very young age.

"He will come as well, I'll introduce him to you", Zhang Wei smiled as he said so.

They chatted along the drive and soon they arrived in the venue. Both of them got off and walked to the hall where the party was held.

When they stepped into the hall, Chen Li Xue sighed inward. 'Thankfully that I didn't overdress this time.' The whole room was filled with black or grey figures. People said that IT people didn't care about appearance, Chen Li Xue could testify this as well. After all, the owner of the company who was standing beside her, also wore a grey T-shirt and black trousers. 'Who would believe that he was the owner of a company?'

The managers of each department walked toward them and greeted them friendly. Though, Zhang Wei was the owner but he had always had good relation with his subordinates, especially these managers who had been working together since their day one.

"It's an honor for these gentlemen to have the chance to see this beautiful ms", said Derrick.

"Cut that crap, Derrick", Chen Li Xue scolded.

Chen Li Xue was familiar with them as she would occasionally drop to the company and bought some food for them.

The employees presumed her as the madam of the CZ company so they had always been respectful toward her. After all, they had never seen any woman came to their company to meet their boss. She would also be the first to try their new products and she would also attend the important events of their company. However, of course, Chen Li Xue never knew about these.

The reason she had the VIP access was because she somehow contributed in establishing CZ company. Though she was not working there, Zhang Wei would always consult with her.

Zhang Wei was her high-school classmate. Their relationship somehow was more than friends, but they always had the gap.

She knew that Zhang Wei didn't think her as friend. He had confessed several times, but Chen Li Xue would only brush it off. She maintained their relationship professionally friendly.

Their conversation then was stopped when Zhang Wei's assistant came and whispered something to him. He nodded and said "Okay"

"The investor has come, let's go"

"En"

They walked to the entrance and saw a man in his casual white T-shirt walked to their side.

"Hello, Mr Ye. Thank you for attending our company's party"

"It's my pleasure"

The whole situation froze Chen Li Xue and she couldn't move at all, especially when those eyes looked at her the whole time.

"Xiao Xue, this is the new investor that I told you", Zhang Wei introduced her to Ye Xiao

"Mr. Ye, this is Chen Li Xue, our advisor", then he introduced Chen Li Xue to Ye Xiao

Zhang Wei introduced them, not knowing that they had known each other.

Chen Li Xue was brought back to the reality with Zhang Wei's introduction.

"Nice to meet you", she said vaguely.

Ye Xiao who saw her acted like they didn't know each other felt a strange feeling in his heart. He didn't know what it was as he never felt it before, but he knew well that it seemed sour.
