178 Ego, The Living Planet

I walked into my office and sank into my plush floating chair as a holoscreen popped up, a notification flashing on the screen.

"Ego, The Living Planet located."

I smiled.

There we go.

I had left my A.I. to go through all of Kang's records of the universe, all of his admin logs and today, after nearly a month and a half, the A.I. had finally finished it all.

I clicked on the notification and checked out the coordinates.

Alright.

Let's do this.

Time to kick some Celestial ass.

Originally, I had intended on visiting DXD and geabbing the sacred gear True Longinus to use against them but.....nah. I can handle a puny celestials or two.

Besides, I have a new module to test out.

"Computer. Port over my Anu Mk. I, will you?"

The Hand Of Anu Project.

A new project I set up based on the IVO tech I got from Amazo, and a little elbow grease from my tinker supercluster.

The result, was a swarm of self configuring nanobots that could be used to create gadgets on the fly, as and when I wanted.

They could also absorb energies and convert them to their own power source.

The only thing they couldn't do was copy powers. For obvious reasons.

Because if Amazo is anything to go by, having a powercopying, self replicating nano swarm loose in the galaxy, develping it's own sentience, and then chasing me down like a twisted hive mind of reality warping, mini Frankenstein's monsters is a scenario I do not want on my hands.

But an Amazo androids on the other hand.....

I smiled as the door behind me opened up, and a two feet tall girl walked in.

I turned to face her and looked her over head to toe, my power washing over her like a summer breeze.

Small and cute, dressed in a red shirt and blue denim skirt was a little girl with shimmering skin of flowing gold, her eyes a piercing blue-gold, with a head of platinum hair bobbing gently with every step she took.

And all her systems were functional.

I smiled warmly as she jumped up and spun in place.

"Papa! How do I look?" She twirled happily, as I picked her up and gave her a hug, kissing her forehead.

"Very cute, Saraswati. You look like an absolute muffin."

"Ehehehehe!" She giggled, and nuzzled into my chest, even as I struggled under her weight.

She was goddamn heavy, made with the toughest and most durable alloys I had, including some Uru I had bargained from Odin and a new batch of Vibranium Klause had stolen for me.

Who was she? Why who else ...

It was Saraswati. My youngest and newest daughter, who also happened to be my moon sized research ship.

Yup.

I had made her a new body; a younger, cuter copy of Amazo's with all the powers that came with it.

Originally, I had intended for her to be a giant mecha girl, with Kaiju flesh enhancements and eyes that fired sick disintegration beams and a nuclear fire breath and a ridged tail.

Basically a giant Godzilla Zord.

But she didn't want that.

Oh no.

She wanted to be cute and little and she wanted hugs and kisses from Papa. Just like my other kids.

And she was very stubborn about that part.

So here we are....

I sighed and obliged her.

Even if I dont get a giant Kaiju Zord daughter.

It was only right after giving her life with the All Spark.

And also because it helped me further my research on splitting and transferring consciousness between bodies.

But she doesn't need to know that!

The past month I had spent researching the psychosphere and the psychic tech I had gotten from Code Geass and I had made some huge breakthroughs. The kind that allowed me to split and transfer Saraswati's conciousness between her new body and the ship and also unbeknownst to her, a giant mecha Godzilla.

But that last part will remain a secret for now, for the same reasons I couldn't name Galen Starkiller.

Offee will kill me if she finds out I made my daughter into a mecha for my own amusement.

At least Onget to test her out on a celestial.

So silver linings?

"Alright, Saraswati. Are you ready for your first mission with Papa?"

"Yup!" She nodded.

"Good. Because we're killing a celestial today. Do you know what a celestial is?" I asked.

"Yes! A celestial is a member of a species of giant reality warping creatures native to the Marvel line of universes." She said, as data flashed across her irises.

"You just read that off your internal database didn't you?" I said, pinching her cheeks.

"Yes...." She said, downcast.

"Good. You should cheat. Cheaters get ahead in life and get what they want while the goody two sheos are left behind in the dust. I'm glad you're learning that early." I praised, patting her head and her eyes lit up like fireworks.

Cute!

But unusual.

I scanned her thoughts with a glance with my technokinesis and frowned.

Hmm...was she expecting me to be biased against her because she wasn't a biological creature?

Silly girl. I would never discriminate against my children for their differences.

But I guess waiting for more than two weeks to give her a body gave aher a bit of a complex about that huh?

We will have to remedy that later.

But for now, it's time for the mission.

"Now Saraswati, I will drop you on the surface of Ego and give you ten minutes. You know your powers well. And I have trained you under Amazo, so you should be able to copy Ego's powers with some exposure to them.

Your mission today is going to be simple. Hold Ego off in a fight for at least 5 of those ten minutes and I'll consider it a pass. Got it?"

She nodded vigorously, and jumped off my lap, aking a super sentai pose.

"Don't worry Papa! Super Saraswati won't disappoint you! No evil can stand my laser sight!"

"Where did you learn that? Have you been watching the old power rangers series?" I chuckled.

"Uhun! I know Papa wanted me to be a Mechazord. But I don't want to be one. So I will try to be power ranger! Super Saraswati!" She pumped her fists.

"I see." I nodded, "And will Super Saraswati do well on today's mission?"

"You better believe it, Papa!" She smiled brightly.

"Good girl. Now go." I said and snapped my fingers opening a portal behind her.

"Make Papa proud!" I added, patting her head.

"Ehehehehe!" She giggled cutely, and nodded before jumping through.

Immediately, I switched to the surveillance screen view and released a host of micro-cameras into Ego's environment.

Saraswati was strong. Very strong. But she was chump change compared to a Celestial like Ego.

Sure, he was a failure of a celestial but still, it was in a league of it's own.

I had no doubts Sarawati was going to get stomped into the ground. Hard.

No doubt about it.

Which is why I am glad I made her put of Uru. At least she'll survive.

Though, I wasn't just about to leave it to her own durability.

No. She was just a distraction.

"Computer, prep the Godslayer Mk. III. With the Ripper rounds. I want to see some flesh. Rip Ego's heart right out from under him."

"Understood sir." It replied, teleporting the rounds into the cannon, before replying.

"Godslayer Mk. III loaded and ready to fire, sir."

"Good. Target Ego. On my count." I said, as I activated the Anu Mk. I nano swarm and sent it through the portal to the surface of Ego.

I turned to the screen, and saw a glowing Ego appear in front of Saraswati.

.

Such an odd little girl. Ego thought.

That golden skin.....

Was she sent by the Sovereign as a tribute?

He wouldn't be surprised.

Surely they must have felt like prostrating themselves after witnessing his glory.

Though the untraceable portal they sent her through was rather worrying.

Still, it would be easily dispatched on he came into contact with them.

He scanned the young girl before him, her gleaming golden skin reflecting silver in his light.

She looked perfect for a child her age.

A but too perfect, almost unnaturally so.

Almost as if she had been artificially created. But the Sovereign did excel in that particular science, so it wasn't particularly unusual.

What shocked Ego was the sheer power he felt brew within her.

She was nothing short of a miniature sun. Almost as powerful as some of his weaker avatars.

Interesting.....

A fine specimen of the species. If a mere child is this strong, perhaps this new generation of Sovereigns would be worth mating with.

Maybe they would finally yield him a heir powerful enough to propgate the gift of his being across the universe.

Yes.

He knelt down on one knee before her and smiled gently.

"Hello, child of Sovereign, are you here to meet me?" He asked.

"Are you Ego, The Living Planet?" She asked.

Ego frowned.

How did they know his true form?

Was it....were they so advanced already that they could see through his deceptions?

No, that cannot be. He had visited them not a century earlier.

They hadn't had that much power back then.

But that portal....it was worrying.

He returned his attention to the little girl before him.

"Yes." He said, putting on a warm smile, "I am indeed Ego. Are you here to visit me?"

At that the girl smiled, and her power began to bubble up from within her, bursting out in a golden halo of light, ripping apart the ground beneath her feet and stripping off the topmost layer of his avatar's skin with the sheer intensity of it.

"No!" The girl posed, "I am Super Saraswati, defender of good and vanquisher of evil! And I am here to kick your butt!"

"What-"

Suddenly the girl disappeared, as the ground where she had been standing seconds before caved in, turning into a pit of lava.

He casually raised his hand by his ears and caught her oncoming kick before it reached his head, sending a thundering sonic boom rippling across the forest floor, trees shaking as the floor beneath him feet cracked and burst, clouds of dust blanketing the canopy.

He gripped his hand, intending to smash her into the floor ehen he noticed his hand wasn't responding.

He passed a sidelong glance at it to see that it had been charred off the bone, ash in the wind, by the girl's powerful solar aura.

And the girl was nowhere to be seen.

He focused his power and found her instantly, up above him, flying higher and higher into the atmosphere, building up momentum.

Yet somehow, he felt she wasn't trying to run away.

No.

He realised.

She was trying to hit him with a truly meteoric blow.

And he found himself smiling at the prospect.

Hmm....it had been a while since he had had any excercise. Maybe this girl would stay his boredom for a while longer than he had anticipated.

From within his core body, deep under the planet's he drew on more and more of his power cosmic, gather it into his avatar till it was almost thrice as powerful as before. This was his strongest avatar. The strongest one he could muster without showing his real body.

He looked up into the sky and spotted a golden streak of light descending from the sky, burning bright and white, coming straight at him.

He smiled.

And then he he laughed, gathering his power in his legs, a glowing blue aura cloaking him like a blanket, as he pushed off the ground.

Sonic booms rang out and the whole surface of the forest collapsed beneath him as he flew into the sky.

They met, fist for fist, blow for blow in the sky above the forest, and collided into each other.

A blue gold ring of energy crackled away as a flash of light burst forth from the impact, followed by a sudden and absolute silence for a microsecond as the air itself burned off instantly from their power, allowing for no medium for the transmission of sound.

Then, like a vacuum filled the clouds around them imploded, collapsing into each other, before splitting apart once more as an equilibrium was reached, blasting outward in a ring of flash vaporized steam, clearing the skies instantly.

Another second passed and a golden figure fell from the sky like a kite with it's strings cut, crashing hard into the hollowed out remains of the forest, raising another cloud of dust high into the sky.

Ego slowly descended upon the prone figure of the girl lying amidst the trees, her skin ever immaculate yet now cracked and blistered, ozzing a grey, grainy fluid.

He smiled and knelt down, grabbing the girl by the throat, lifting her unconcious body into the air.

"Hehehahahaha! You're the most fun I have had in a while girl. It's a shame you rebelled against my might and glory.

I quite enjoyed our time together. Take pride in that. And di-"

Suddenly, something flashed. Then the world arpund him shook.

He shook.

Him. The real him.

The core of his very being.

Something tore at him as he let go of the girl who disappeared into a green portal, as he fell to the floor clutching at his chest.

What.....what happened?

He thought as his avatar began to dissipate.

Then he saw it.

A straight, supernaturally smooth trail of destruction, tearing across his planet, in one side and out another.

A weapon. A faster than light weapon.

A powerful one too, enchanted by some power to bypass even his mighty defenses.

The girl was a distraction.

He realised too late, as another portal appeared in the hollow crust of his planet, right before his core. His true body.

And dread filled him for the first time in his long, long life as he transformed his brain into a new body, in a compressed form, ready to escape once his new body finished forming.

He wasn't about to die now. Not before he had achieved his goals.

Especially not to a mortal's trap!

.

I emerged from within a portal before Ego's true body, slow clapping as my new nano swarm buzzed around me forming a Reality Anchor.

"Ego, The Living Failure. How pathetic.

I thought you'd last at least three shots. But one pump into your deep, deep core and you just give way.

You're a slutty little planet aren't you boy!" I slapped his butt, as he flared with indignation.

"You dare mortal!" He growled, shifting as his body began to heal.

"I am a celestial! Who do you think you are to-"

Slap!

I slapped his butt again, grinning at him unashamedly.

"You!" He swiped at me with his half formed arms but failed, flailing helplessly.

"Your pimp bitch! Now get on your knees and show daddy how you work a shaft!" I said, grabbing his throat as another nano swarm coiled around my arms, forming exo-musculature.

"No! No! Nowahhhh!" He screamed as I ripped his throat right off of his neck, depositing it into the reality anchor as it began to hum.

"No? Not a fan of choking? But you seemed to be having so much fun choking my daughter to death? Curious, isn't it?" I tilted my head and asked, staring him dead in the eyes.

He looked up at me with rage as his power gathered within him, and my sensors warned me to evacuate immediately.

But it was too late as a beam of cosmic energy ripped through the air, shattering my forcefield and pinned me to the cavern wall, a hole burned through me, as my chest and stach disappeared, sublimated upon contact.

"Gwalh!" I spat out blood, as he slowly stood up, staggering at first as his throat and hip finished healing, and laughed.

"You sent your daughter to distract me, a Celestial? You're not a very good father are you?" He bellowed, taking slow, teasing steps towards me.

"Kettle, meet pot." I snarked back, gurgling with blood, "As if you're daddy of the year anyway. Do you even know where your son is right now? Actually..." I said, as my lungs regenerated in full, "....don't answer that. I already know you don't."

"I have been looking for him for a long, long time. But it seems you know where he is. I'll have to extract that information from you before I kill yo-."

"It's Jay." I interrupted.

"What?" He raised an eyebrow.

"My name. I'm not mortal. I have a name. It's Jay Walker." I spat out the remaining blood from my lungs, as he scoffed at my words.

"And what does that have to do with anything?" He asked amused.

"Oh nothing really. Just wanted you to know whose hands you were going to die to." I said with a cheeky grin.

"I have heard that humans tend to get delusional in their final moments but I had never witnessed that. Truly, you creatures never stop to amaze me with your casette tapes and your baguettes and those little toys of that orange cat, Gafled." He mused.

"Garfield." I corrected.

"It doesn't matter. You will all become part of me eventually. Then if I want it to be Gafled, it will be Gafled."

"Really?" I snorted, "That's the hill you want to die on? Gafled?"

"Oh, so that's where he was. That pirate lied to me!"

He could read my mind even with the earpiece.

Because of course he can. What was I even expecting?

He's a cosmic being.

"Well, Yondu is a pirate so...." I shrugged.

"That pirate... It's a shame too. I would have loved to find my son quicker. And I would have rewarded him. But as you say on Earth, 'Slow and Teddy wins the race'." He said, condescendingly, raising a finger at my head, as a bead of cosmic power gathered at his fingertip.

"Wow you're really butchering it aren't you?" I smiled as my hips finally began regenerating too.

"Or are you doing that on purpose to annoy me?"

He gave me a mischievous look as the power pulsing at the tip of his fingers coalesced into a beam, firing straight left of me as he began to slowly drag it across the rocky wall of the cavern, cutting across to me, vaporizing everything in it's path, taking his time, hoping to see me cower in fear.

"And you....you know a lot about me. From a multiversal viewpoint too. How novel!"

Oh, so he's really into puns too. Just what I'd expect of a villain.

I chuckled.

"Oh yeah. I know a fair bit. Like how you gave a tumor to your beloved son's mum, and how you ghosted them on a milk run. Typical deadbeat dad. Guess even the mighty Celestials can't afford child support nowadays huh?"

"She was a distraction.....that my son didn't need. Once he gets his Celestial power, he'll see it too!"

"He'll see that you murdered his mother yeah. And let me tell you he won't be amused."

Ego scoffed and began to push more power into his offensive, increasing the intensity of the beam.

Oof. That looks like it's gonna hurt.

Not that it would even get to me. I still had my portals after all. I can always just slice him open with a portal or redirect his power beam back at him or a million other things.

But even without them, I came prepared.

I just wanted to see the effect my reality anchor would have on him.

I smiled, and a notification flashed across my contacts.

"Reality Anchor calibrated. Activating."

Just as the beam was out and he coalesced another one, I reached out grabbed his hands and brought his finger right to my temples.

"Enough foreplay. Let's do it already, baby! Unless you plan on going out for a pack of cigarettes and smoke out on me like you did on all your kids?" I said.

"As you wish." He said haughtily, annoyed and pushed.

Nothing happened.

"What?" He looked at his finger, confused.

"Having performance issues? Or is your millimeter defeater too ashamed to show?"

He snapped at me, grabbing me by the throat.

"What did you do?!" He growled.

"Sheesh, you're really into choking aren'tcha?" I teased, grabbing his arms with my own, parting them from my throat as my regeneration finished.

He looked on horrified as my fingers dug into his flesh, and with a twist, I heard two satisfying squelches and cracks, as his arms came off like ripe ribeye off the bone.

"Yaaargh!" He cried out in pain as he fell to the floor, disarmed. Literally.

"And don't blame your .... performance issues on me darling. Get help." I taunted, using his own hands to pat his cheeks before chucking his arms to the side.

I grabbed his hair and lifted him up like a ragdoll, all the while he looked back and forth between me and his torn arms.

"Now where were we? Ah! Yes. You were about to die." I smiled evilly as he began to beg for his life.

"Noooo....please...anything...just let me gohooo. I will become your servant, yes it's a great honor to have a celestial serve you! You could rule the universe.... just please do-"

"Wow. Even on your deathbed you've got some nerve.... honor you say?" I laughed

"Seriously. But I guess it's to be expected. Your Ego is so big your head's grown to the size of a planet!"

I cut him short, as my knife hand dug into his head, and I crushed his brain, scrambling it like a morning breakfast that you were sure was going to be a sunny side up when you started.

Witha twist of my hand his head cracked open and split apart, spilling it's contents onto the floor.

I looked down at the dead core of the celestial at my feet and yawned.

That's the reality anchor problem settled. Now all that's left is to gather up the rest and I'll be done with this world.

I snapped my fingers and pulled out the power extractor, bigger and better from a portal, digging it into his flesh, and pressed the trigger.

Motes and motes of cosmic energy drained out of him and into one of my cosmic batteries, stored for later use in enhancing myself and Wanda for the ritual of apotheosis.

With that done, I kicked Ego's body through a portal and into a hyperbaric tank, preserving it for more reality anchors.

In due time.

For now, let's just go back home and repair Saraswati.

I thought, as my droids exited portal after portal and began planting dimension anchors to begin the containment process for stealing the planet and storing it into the microverse.

All in all, today, was a day well spent.
