1 In the Stars?
Hello there. I am Terry Smith a hardcore Sci-fi fan. I am in the top 3 leaderboard of the American Game In The Stars. In the Stars is a game that came out 3 years ago and quickly became the most popular game. You see, In the Stars is a MMORPG using the new console Nerve Gear.
In the game you can do anything. The economy is player driven, The NPC's have emotions and the planets are nearly infinite. Of course with this power, people must be in complete anarchy right? Correct. A Smart group of people took over an organization and called [Lindon]. They started conquering certain planets making them rulers of Half the galaxy.
And the stupid bunch took over an Empire of complete chaos and Called the [Basquis] . And Chaos and 'Order' don't mix well right? Well the [Basquis] attempted to take a planet which was a planet declared neutral by the devs and was the starting world to expand their manpower. Due to this [Lindon] defended the neutral planet and this ended up sparking a war which caused the destruction of multiple planets. Many of which were neutral.
And you must be wondering where am I? Well I am currently at my secret bunker celebrating. The reason why? It's because I just orchestrated an entire war without anyone noticing I even thought about the war. This seems like a little accomplishment right? But it's not. I bid my time for 2 years slowly creating tension between these 2 great powers.
And my goal? Well it was Vuoladium. The rarest resource, and the most important piece of the puzzle. Vuoladium is made up of the souls of 1,000,000 players or NPCs. And to get that many souls of intelligent imaginative beings must be impossible right? Well who said I had to fight? I can just get them to kill each other and have the souls form Vuoladium.
Why is Vuoladium so important? Well to make the most powerful weapon in the game, The Spiact, a pole like object which can erase what it's pointing at from existence.
Anyways, enough of my goal, You must be wondering how could someone amass an army of players and not have a lot of chaos? Well about 95% of everyone's army is NPC's. The NPC's in the Armies of players are loyal to their leader and people above their current rank. Of course larger armies had to be careful with possible betrayal's.
Of course with any sci-fi world there must be that one power source like the force right? Again, Correct. Its called Nexus. Humans have a higher talent with it, But they don't have a lot of reserves unlike the Nugh. The Nugh are a species of Green Humanoid creatures that have low talent in Nexus but they have massive reserves. With enough of them they could take out a fleet, But with humanity being jealous they have been hunted/Slaved to near extinction.
Of course with hunting a powerful species this must have been a great war? No. It was a massacre. The humans developed Anti-Nexus weapons and wiped out their home world. With 1 'battle' the humans won. Of course, No players were there. This was pre-game lore. Anyways, Back to the present.
I celebrated for a few more hours before logging out and checking the website about any news. Surprisingly it seems that a new event is happening. Its called The Apocalypse. After reading the update article it seems a Hive Mind like species is gonna appear and attack the galaxy resulting in a 3 way war because of the things I did.
'Damn I'm stupid. I should have known something like this would happen. Every Sci-fi world Has something like this, With Halo having the Flood, Star Trek having The Borg (idk never watch it) and Star Wars which have the Yuuzhan Vong. I should have waited, I'm a fucking idiot.' I thought as I face palmed feeling angry at the thought of everything I have worked for being ruined.
-TIME SKIP 2 YEARS-
(Still on Earth)
It seems I should have waited. We have lost. Every faction has been wiped out. But none of them were as bad as Evut. That place was absolutely destroyed. Any player or NPC there must have witnessed something horrible. I'm glad I didn't even think about going to Evut. How do I know this? Well, 2,495 In the Stars Players were sent to a Mental Institution made specifically because of that, because of developing PTSD of that moment. Lets say In the Stars got a lot of lawsuits.

'It seems that even People with Nexus still can't even defend themselves.' I thought as I scrolled down the In the Stars Reddit page surprised.
Anyway, In the Stars Publicly Apologized for the Incident and Paid for all the bills.

I sighed as I sat in my chair bored out of my mind. In the Stars was taken down in all countries after the event because after 2 years the amount of people raised from 2,495 to 1 Million. I sighed again before deciding to Jerk off. As I reached for my tissue box I heard a bang and I quickly turned around to see someone aiming a gun at me.
"Oh Shi-" I didn't get to finish as Everything went dark and I was shot.
