The Mystical sect

The kids are divided into two groups: Ten each for a house. Nice has been selected to stay with Jessica, Koryn, Evan and Lexi. The rest are common school kids. Abigael is presently in a different shelter with Jon (Her ex), John (Her crush), Syrah and her third roommate whom she hates, as well as other kids.

The rain has started and they are taking space in their rooms. Boys room are separated from girls' but Jessica still chooses to be stubborn. She goes there as she likes.

No girl can snitch on her because of her personality in school and all the boys love her doing that except Evan whom she respects a lot.

Koryn has been known to be a quit girl. However, she hates Nice. Since they stepped into their settlement, she can't stop staring at the clinch between Nice and Evan.

She wants Evan back. She knows she messed up and that's the more reason why she'd do everything to get him back.

Evan is sitting next to Nice on the dinning as they eat meat pile and drink milk.

Their niche is build of woods. The interior is vast with candle-like bulbs everywhere and a staircase, which leads to all the rooms.

The down part is made up of the dining, kitchen, and the living room. On their walls are animal skulls, and their skin.

There is a burning section for warming oneself when there is cold just like this present night.

After dinner, everyone settles on the couches, or against the carpet on the floor. Their teacher excuses himself to make a call. He just remembered he promised to telephone Mrs. Jana as soon as they arrived.

He does and her number doesn't go through. He re-tries for over whole number of times and to no avail.

Nice is listening to Evan speak "Mrs. Jana is not who you thought she is"

"What do you mean?", she asks

"Mrs. Jana didn't and doesn't care about the kid who died years ago because she was given for a ritual. That's why her ghost doesn't stop hunting us"

Nice tries to understand this sentence. Her eyes doesn't miss the gazes Koryn gives her as well as Jessica. But she ignores them.

"The girl on the walls was the girl involved in the contract. I dug in further and found out that Mrs. Jana possessed some kids to kill her out of their will. Her name was Emma"

Nice's face lit up instantly "I know that name. I've heard of it before" she tries to wonder where she heard of it, her mouth twisting in the process.

"I can't recall but I'd keep thinking. I can't believe my mom has a hand to this." She mentions and he nods

"Maybe she does and maybe not. Because what I know is that those girls were initiated and they also belonged to Mrs. Jana's sect"

She looks at him in fear and he holds her hand "We're going to get through this. And when we do, we'd make sure Mrs. Jana pays"

"But-how? How did you know about all these?"

"I eavesdropped on her conversation with the proprietress about their sect. That's why she can't leave her post yet, no matter how old she becomes. She tried to initiate me to it after she discovered I knew their darkest truth. I didn't show lost of interest if not she could've killed me. I played along. Even in the office when she was talking to me. Everything was a game."

"I was right about everything. You knew the truth all along"

"Yes, I did. I knew what happened in the room where you were frozen. She could only send me to décor the party hall that day because I was the only who knew what was behind those blinds. But she already suspected me after you leached out the contract your mom had with her. That was something she never told me. That's why I had to leave with you"

Nice renders to him a tired gaze and he gives her a reassured smile.

"Common, Let's join the others in the game" Evan pulls her towards teens chattering about a puzzle game.

...

Victoria is done explaining to her husband why she didn't want her daughter stepping a leg in that school. She has told him all her secrets. And now Mr. Daigle is silent.

He doesn't know what to say about this situation.

"Why didn't you tell me before?" he speaks after a long moment of tranquility

"I-I was ashamed of my past; the things I did and why I did them. It was so stupid of me and I didn't want anyone knowing about it. Yes, I didn't kill the girl but it still hunts me that I couldn't safe her life."

He sighs exhaustively robing the brim of his nose.

"I'm so sorry Nice. I didn't mean to drag you into this. I didn't know this was going to follow me at the end"

Her husband looks at her with knitted brows. Maybe his wife is running mad.

He shifts towards her and rubs her back, trying to make her calm down. This can give her serious depression and he doesn't want that. He's not sure how his daughter is fairing now and hearing her mom is talking to herself is not good.

"I should call Mrs. Jana and ask if they are back" she puts her phone to her ear nervously after pressing on call history.

Her husband nods

"Mrs. Jana, Are they back?"

"Everything is ok. They are fine" she states a fat lie

Mrs. Daigle's face lit up "Can I talk to my daughter?"

"I'm sorry you can't. They are asleep"

"Oh! OK. Tomorrow then"

Mrs. Jana nods "Sure. Goodnight"

Mrs. Daigle frowns at her firmness "Goodnight," and the call is disconnected.

She looks at the phone in her hand, still not settled with the woman's assurance.

Her husband heard everything through the phone "Don't think a lot. You'd talk to her tomorrow as she explained. So common, let's go upstairs"

He holds her hand and they leave the dinning room.

...

On this side, Abigale is already asleep with her roommates, since she has no one to talk to. Her best friend Nice is in another mansion. Everywhere is silent and she dart her eyes open upon the dark.

She needs to head to the bathroom. She wakes up from her bed and matches out of their room and into a dark corridor. She's not the type to be scared about just anything.

She walks meters away and meets the door to the girls' restroom. There are just three restrooms in their settlement: One for boys, one for girls and the other for their disciplinary.

She encloses her small hand over the knop of the door and pushes it open. She switches on the light and it appears red instead of white. She hates the color red. It scares her.

Why must they put this bulb of all the bulbs on this planet earth?!

She doesn't know if she should go on and pee or just leave. But as soon as she decides to pee, the door locks from outside. She hears the sound and frowns.

She turns and tries to open the door but it doesn't open. Her heart starts rising. This is just her first night here and she is already feeling something strange about this place.

"Who's there?" she calls thinking that maybe one of the girls are teasing her.

She looks around her. The light is becoming dim, showing that it will off soon.

Anxiety accumulates and due to that she pees on herself. Her BP has risen as well.

She banks on the door while screaming "Hello! Please, get me out of here!"

A voice speaks. It sounds like a witch's and inaudible. Her eyes expanse "Who are you?"

This voice laughs causing her ears to bleed. It sounds like a microphone that has not been plugged properly. Her knee becomes weak and she fall down against the floor, tears flowing down her cheeks.

"Help me!" she cries in a muffled tone.

The light becomes dimmer. Her lips quiver as she tries to formulate words. But this time, it doesn't come out. Her throat is tight. She can't find her voice anymore.

Her eyes are now blurry from the tears gathering in it, but she sees something. She sees a shadow in front of her; someone is staring at her back.
