My mom is right

Students are already asleep but the cook has been wondering on what she read from Nice's messages with her mom. She can't seem to find rest. Are they true? All these are confirming what she read about Elmont in Wikipedia; the ghost is Emma.

She is so troubled, knowing Mrs. Jana is not who everyone thinks she is. And more to that; Nice's mom was warning for them to leave this place. With everything that has happened, she completely agrees to go back. However she won't just go out of here, but BHSC.

She turns to leave when she finds her room open. She gently walks in and the door closes by itself. Locking her inside.

She screams immediately, not waiting for something bad to happen before she does. The entire dorm wakes up and people run to her room. At once, the door opens heavily and a strong wind leaves.

Everyone feels it at the same time. They stare at one another knowingly.

"The ghost. Emma. She-she locked me in here." The cook has concluded that it is no other spirit but the hunting ghost of Emma,

Everybody is looking at her like crazy. Except Nice, Abi, Johns and Evan

"How did she know about Emma?" Nice questions and her friends are looking at her with the same questioning glare.

"Maybe her ghost introduced herself" Johns suspects

Nice's countenance is recognition "Or maybe-maybe she saw it."

"She wouldn't be saying she ghost if she didn't see it" Abi corrects her

Nice faces her friend "Not that. The messages. I didn't log out in her phone"

The boys are confused while the girls are disturbed.

"What are you gals talking about?" Evan inquires and Nice brings her gaze to him, remembering what her mom mentioned.

She blinks her eyes away, moving towards the cook who has been held by Mr. Michael.

"Did you read my messages?" Nice asks and the lady just nods.

Mr. Michael is blank about what is happening "What messages?"

"It's time I tell everyone"

Students look at her with a frown while whispering amongst themselves.

She gazes over at Evan and he shakes his head, disapprovingly "Emma, a formal student in BHSC was murdered here in Elmont; I don't know what exactly but, my mom seems to know a lot about that. Because all these happened when my mom was still a college kid."

She looks back at Evan who is giving her a disappointed profile as she continues "And, Mrs. Jana is behind her dead. Mrs. Jana is a bad woman. She has sold children into her sect. Brings jealousy and hatred amongst us so that we could hate each other and harm ourselves. And she's trying so hard silence everyone who knows about this secret. We can't let her hurt more lives. And even if my mom is truly involved, she has to pay. They all have to"

Everyone is silent.

Mr. Michael walks towards her and whispers, his lips quivering "Are you certain about what you're saying?"

She nods, following her words "I've never been so sure"

Suddenly the weather becomes dense; extreme thunder striking, wind blowing heavily into the house. Everyone is frightened.

"Is she the one?" Aisha asks, standing close to Jon

Nice doesn't know. She studied her environment. A notification sounds from the cook's phone.

She throws the phone out of fright. Nice picks it and sees the notification. It is a message from someone unknown.

"Watch out!" Nice repeats the words on the screen, her heart pounding over her chest.

Mr. Michael ceases the phone from her hand "That's enough. Tomorrow, we'd leave. We don't know what has happened to the two individuals missing but once we arrive school, we'd call the police to search for them"

Everyone is a little bit satisfied. They'd be returning home, hoping this night ends well.

"You should all return to bed" the educator orders but no one moves.

Who wants to sleep after hearing all these? He sighs "Ok. We'd just wait for dawn"

They settle in groups in the living room. Evan walks over to Nice "We need to talk"

She stops her pace "This is not the time Evan-"

His hand tightens on her arm "Come with me" he orders, looking annoyed.

She follows his hand on her and he releases it "I'm sorry. But you need to come with me"

She brings her gaze to him and nods. They leave unto the balcony.

"You've been avoiding me. And now you just let out a huge secret to them."

Nice quite. She's not ready to have her first fight with him.

He stoops down to look into her eyes "What's wrong with you Nice?"

She lies "Nothing" her eyes, trying to look ok. But he can still see that.

"Stop it!" he exclaims and she twitches

"I will ask you one more time. What is wrong with you?"

He's being so dominion now and she naturally gets intimidated by that. However, right now she decides be stubborn.

"There is nothing wrong with me Evan. I'm just being realistic."

His jaws tighten and she blinks, looking noticeably frightened. She stutters, "I-My mom told me to stay away from you"

His muscles relax "What did you tell her?"

She explains all their discussions briefly.

"I told you not to tell anyone about this yet. I knew what I was talking about when I said that. Why did you do it?"

"For how long are you expecting us to keep all these secrets to ourselves? It was time they knew. I wouldn't let anyone being hurt out of ignorance"

"Fuck! You're so stubborn. Don't you know that same ignorance is better sometimes?"

"Not all times at least. And in this case, it was necessary"

He get closer "Are you even listening to yourself. Just look around you. Abi was attacked because you told her about Emma's ghost. Didn't you ask yourself why it attacked just her? The cook just found out and she got attacked too."

"What about the other kids? Did they know about it too?" Nice crosses her arms

"I don't know about them. Let's focus first on the people who got hurt because of your negligence. And now you have no idea what's going to happen to all those who are in there. Did you understand the message she sent a while ago? I'm not sure you did. The more people know this, the more lives at risk. I want to confess this. The only reason Emma's ghost has been showing herself to you is because she's trying to tell you something. Not everyone in there is you. You got away with the truth about her dead but not everyone will. Because she doesn't want them to know"

Nice questions herself. What does she want to tell me and why?

"I don't know why your mom wants you away from me but if you think it's best then I won't stop you. But I want you to know that I don't mean any harm to you."

Evan is not pleased by her reactions towards him. He's hurt and needs space too. However, that's if she gives him that gap.

Nice doesn't want it either but her guts doesn't keep want to make her mom feel bad. She knows that since the moment Evan stepped into her life, she has not been the same. She doesn't want this type of life.

She wants to leave normally like in her formal school. She didn't have friends there but it was better. She could return home and meet her parents with her kid brother. She misses the moment they had dinner.

Her eyes glitter with tears "My mom is right. It's better we keep our distances; because all these is driving me crazy. I want to return home."

Evan is nods staring at the night sky "Ok"

He doesn't say anything else. He can't face her anymore. He leaves her there and walks back in while she let the tears stain her cheeks. She has never felt so much hurt in her life. But it was better she did it for her good. Maybe with time, the pain will burn to arches.

She doesn't leave instantly. She let's the tears flow for long before wiping her cheeks, joining her mates. But once she steps in, the room goes dark.

To be continued...
