Chapter 15

Rune was aware that Dabi would want to leave as soon as he could move about.

The two grew closer as Rune tended to Dabi's wounds and his old scars from his childhood.

"Why does your power burn you?" Rune asked looking at Dabi.

"My body is that of an ice user and so the high temperature of my flames hurts me. " Dabi replied as he watched Rune to see her reaction.

"What if you turn your flames cold and see how your body responds?" Rune said looking at Dabi calmly.

Dabi just stared at Rune before trying to do it and after a few tries he managed to make cold flame. The fire was dark and cold and when dabi stopped using it his hand was not burned. Rune smiled and she moved to stand so she could make a treat in celebration. However she was barely out of her seat when Dabi grabbed her hand and pulled her into a hug as he sheded tears of joy.

'Thank you.' he whispered in her ear as he held her in his arms.

Rune was startled but soon relaxed into the hug as it felt nice as she felt safe in his arms.
