As Joyrel kept on walking ahead of Timmy, he did not loosen his grip on her wrist. His actions managed to stop her and he moved closer to her, leaving her to bump on the wall on her back.

Her face showed anger.

"Why are you insisting? You are a lawyer for crying out loud?" Timmy asked Joyrel

He was gripping her wrist too tight; she had a hard time keeping her straight face. She looked at him for sometime and the anger in her face vanished.

Before he could open his mouth and speak again, she spoke, "I know that I am a lawyer. And I also know that it's hard for you to believe me. But, what I insist on is true. Mirabel isn't our daughter, but your daughter with someone else. I just don't know her,"

"Then why did you keep her?"

"Because I love her, Kim. I love Mirabel more than you know it and just like I would mine. I can't have any reason to keep her too except from knowing that she was yours."

Seconds ticked and he looked at her with a million questions in his eyes. He looked disappointed and loosen his grip from her wrist, his hand falling limply to his side. He could tell that she was speaking of the truth and the love for his daughter could be seen by how the girl loved her.

His heart sank when he remembered that dreadful morning to the fateful night. The messages, the lack of ransom. So it turned out, something more had happened that night. He felt so drained and his body couldn't manage the weight of his head.

"Okay, I am sorry. I only have one question. Why bring her now?" He asked weakly.

When Joyrel saw his weary look, she felt a tag on her heart and frowned. She did not expect the truth to have this much effect on him.

"She needed a father. Also as an influencer it would be bad for you to be involved in yet another scandal. She is also climbing up the wall of fame and this would have happened if not sooner but later," she said.

Timmy was surprised to see that she could think of him and his reputation. But he asked, "Don't you think, she needs a whole family? Since the mother is unknown, and we are the parents she knows now, why not help me take care of our daughter?"
