Chapter 15: Documents.

Paxton didn’t sleep at first. Tossing and turning, he finally put aside his kiss with Tennessee and closed his eyes in the early morning light. He assumed that he would never be able to forget what happened between him and Tennessee—it was only that the exhaustion won in the end. That was the only reason he finally rested.

Sleeping fitfully, Paxton woke when the brighter light of the sun filtered through the curtains. Sitting up quickly, Paxton froze. Last night hit him like a ton of bricks. He and Tennessee. He recalled every minute of that make-out session. Damn it, but Paxton hadn’t had the strength to walk away. God, if only he had left the room from the start. Now he was certain everything was ruined between them.

Getting up, Paxton dressed and then hurried down the ladder to land at the bottom of the kitchen area. The dogs greeted him, and after petting them, only then did he realize it was much later than he thought. The clock blinked at him at 10:30.
