In the mind of an NPC

After reincarnating into the past as an NPC, Girisia was faced with two options, either fall into despair and continue to barely survive in the lowest drenches of the society or make a stand and find out who played this ugly game with his life. Now, if destiny is to be challenged, there should be nothing wrong in using the immortal resources that come in the form of Players. After all, "A hunter cannot be blamed for hunting a prey that willingly served itself." ***** Read my other work called "Jealous Nerd vs The Immortal Army". The story of an unlikely manipulative hero without shame or care for the world. Born with a vulgar mouth and equally cursed ability, the immortals will regret meeting him. If I have to say, he is polar opposite of the MC in ItmNPC.

Answer: Depends, I usually delete older stuff, and don't keep it, but the changes in this chapter after a certain chapter were so massive, it could have entirely change the way the story would have gone.

Answer: Yes I am... BTW read the below chapter on your own risk, it has no affect on future story.

<Adapting to current circumstances… Two wills are found in the body.>

<Temp Mutation: Two-Headed Hydra>

[Cost: 250 Biomass]

*Boom...

With the explosion, a cloud of gray dust ate away part of Girisia's body. It wriggled and twisted in pain, its survival instincts tried to find more mutations to survive, but it was the limit. Girisia's body was running low on biomass and the gain at which he obtained it from his mutated roots was not enough.

So his body struggled to stay alive, after finding that it couldn't go through a full-body mutation. The body mutated only around the area where the nanoscopic nanites were eating away at his body.

They changed their forms each millisecond, countless cells died off and were sacrificed, Girisia's vitality was rapidly declining. But his body kept pumping up different mutated cells that may be immune to the degeneration brought by the nanite dust.

Slowly, but surely, it showed the effects pretty fast.

Now running on fumes, a piece of bark infected with nanite fell off the mutant tree that Girisia had become. And following it, more barks fell from his body.

His roots also spread all around the area, searching for nutrients, the concrete floor under his feet didn't contain many nutrients and the bestial instinct inside Girisia has noticed the fallen body of Wilkis.

The sweet smell of flesh and iron attracted him instinctively.

His body couldn't move from the bed he was laying in. But it didn't stop his vine-like roots to inch toward Wilkis's fallen body bit by bit.

And as it moved closer to it, the vines slowly fattened up and formed up a face, a face Girisia was very familiar with. It was not the face of Korus Fedorov, but his original face from before the accident, when he still used to have a family.

But for the current him, who had lost his sense of self in madness. Girisia completely ignored it as the metallic flesh was all he desired.

And this desire was reflected on the fake head made out of Girisia's root as it opened its jagged jaw and bit toward the head of Wilkis whose body had completely gone gray.

But before it could close its mouth, the whole wooden head burned to ash in an instant. Whose pain caused the bestial Girisia to screech in pain as all the wooden vines on his body wriggled under the stimulus.

The beast tried once again to approach the old man's body, but it failed again. The pain and lack of biomass were making it harder to grow new vines, in order to fill its desire to consume flesh. The body of Girisia slowly uprooted itself from the concrete floor and dragged its body slowly toward Wilkis.

The beast felt weak, it had neither eyes to see nor ears to hear. The only reason it could locate Wilkis was through its instincts alone, a stat that Girisia invested before he lost control.

But what this stat along with his passive of danger discernment couldn't perceive was the high amount of radiation leaking out of Wilkis's body that was increasing the temperature of the room bit by bit.

<Adapting to current circumstances… High radiation.>

<Error: Failed to obtain a temp trait due to lack of biomass>

<Error: Lack of elements and nutrients to secrete radiation immune enzymes.>

<Volatile Mutation: Survival mode activated.>

<Abandoning form and using the base body as fuel>

As the beast stepped closer to Wilkis's body, more mutated it became in a struggle to adapt to this new environment.

The beast was completely lost in its hunger to notice the changes its body took. All of Girisia's stats fell to the bottom, his health remained only a fraction of what it used to be, his wooden body slowly decreased in size, his organs shrank, his remaining head hidden inside his wooden chest hid deeper.

By the time he reached the body of Wilkis. The only thing left of Girisia was a contorted body with wooden skin that released yellowish enzymes to fight off the radiation that was released from Wilkis's body.

But even this didn't stop the radiation from eating away at Girisia's body. The inert energy leaked by a grade-four entity is too harsh for a normal body to handle. If a grade four or higher entity didn't put some constraints on themselves, every life form around them usually dies or gets assimilated.

The same was happening to Girisia, being an entity that had just entered Grade two. He couldn't handle the impact this accidental discharge had on him

And seeing that the vessel of her daughter might die. The entity once again hurled her tentacle toward Wilkis.

But this time, something different happened

The body of Wilkis that seemed to be dead all this time suddenly opened its eyes. There was no humanity in it, it had fallen to sleep by the entity observing the room. All that remained was a cold calculating machine after the biological cells were forced suicide by the entity.

-Core Sentience is damaged.

-Mission: Defend Ursula Entario Riber and Riber City.

-Scanning for danger.

-Dangerous entity detected, energy level… Can't be determined.

-Entering Combat mode.

-Strength inhibitors disabled.

-Tool restraint disabled.

-Void engine activated.

-Geopositioning enabled.

-Collateral damage assessment… insurmountable.

-Finding a better place to initiate combat.

-Place found.

-Primary Target of elimination: Tentacle of ???/ Secondary Target: Corrupted Korus.

"Don't be foolish Ursula… You won't survive this fight." Vanras cursed, he was frustrated while looking at the changes in the room and his heart even gave out after he saw Wilkis fall under the touch of the transparent tentacle. But he knew that there was nothing he could do.

The same for the much weaker Farsight, whose playful and mad scientist look had long turned to dust, and all that remained was a grieving daughter.

"I am not a coward like you Vanras… Let me go. He is still alive, at least I will be able to drag him out of there." Before she could run toward the research building where Girisia was kept, her path was blocked by jagged metallic spikes that grew out of the ground like a tree.

"Don't stop me…" Seeing her way blocked, she shouted at Vanras.

"Sorry… It's my job to stop you." He sighed as he made a grabbing motion with his fist, causing the same metallic spikes to wrap around Farsight and stopping her momentum completely. "I am sorry." That was all he could say.

He never thought the operation would go this bad and now the existence of the whole Riber city was at stake.

"This is why I always hated you." She cried, she couldn't even save her father. But just as tears formed up in her eyes, the old research building exploded and countless rings floated up from the rubble of the building.

"Riber's cage…" Vanras said, a small smile forming upon his face.

*****

"What is that?" A player shouted, looking at the revolving rings that floated up after the explosion.

"How the heck will I know… Are you fucking retarded."

"Look how crazy the NPCs are going. Maybe something big has happened." Another player chimed in.

"WTH… and don't we have like a few more days of public beta?... Why is an event like this happening so early?"

"Shut the hell up and start recording… Let's make those retards on other planets jealous." Another player said, after learning that they were the only planet who still didn't have a grade two-player yet.

*****

"What have you done Korus…" Tarkov said, being the closest to the sealed entity inside the rings, he felt each cell inside his body cry in pain.

"Everyone, move out…" He ordered his men, feeling unreal at the events that have transpired.

'None of the plans of that bastard ever go well.' Tarkov regretted, he should have never fallen for Girisia's words. Everything was getting out of control.

*****

"What is happening?..." Yoshiko's eyes widened at the massive sealing rings that broke out in the air. With his augmented eyesight, Yoshikov could even see the creature sealed inside the rings.

A transparent jellyfish that sometimes looked like a lotus and other times as a knot of hair. But in both of these cases, the creature held a small ball in its tentacles.

"Was Riber hiding something?" There was not much to think, Yoshikov knew that the upcoming fight was not something he could ever hope to take part in. So after checking his options. He flew away and not just from the area, but the city too.

*****

In a small village thousands of kilometers away from Riber city, the little old hermit that was teaching the children of the village under an oak tree suddenly looked up. His eyes suddenly moistened as if recalling the old days.

"Grandpa… What happened? Did someone harm you?" A curious little girl asked politely, she had never seen the old elder cry like a baby before.

"Nothing child, I just recalled the face of my mother." The old man laughed while he patted the head of the little girl.

*****

"This... no no this is not possible… she is gone... How can she be here?" The cries of countless beasts escaped from the mouth of the cave.

A cave with fleshy walls. A cave whose floor were littered with countless heads growing out of the ground like a flower.

And all these heads had one thing in common.

"No… it's in the direction of our child…" The faces cried, looking toward Riber city. She could feel that her child was barely alive at this moment. She can feel her child slowly dying with each passing moment.

"LET US GO… LET… US…..GO." All the faces shouted, but no one was there to listen. The heads kept wriggling up and down, they cried tears of blood but it never caused any changes.

"DON'T YOU DARE HARM WILKIS… OTHERWISE, ENDING YOUR BLOODLINE WILL BE THE LAST THING I WILL DO." The countless heads cried in the direction of Riber city, toward the entity that once scared her.

*****

-Entity 1 and corrupted Korus have been temporarily sealed, proceeding to take them far away.

Wilkis or what remained of him slowly floated up in the air and swiped his hand toward the sky, causing spatial ruptures to form up. From which two gigantic robots floated out along with a much smaller mecha.

The mecha, which was known as the other half of Wilkis, and the robots that were titled Guardians of Riber City.

And with a last look toward the place where his daughter stood crying, Wilkis slowly stepped into his mecha.

Just wanted to explain one thing.

The reason why Wilkis is no longer affected by the effect of tentacle is because there is no organic matter left in his body, so he is complete immune.
