To a mage, the souls always remained a mystery. Some delved into it so much that nothing remained of them.

To some it's what differentiates the living from the non-living.

While to others, it was nothing more than a collection of thoughts given form.

Few even considered it to be a lie or man made by-product after death.

And then there were the things that surrounded the soul and the precedent it set up.

It was the reason that various cultures ended up creating their own version of heaven and hell, the reincarnation, the nirvana and the afterlife. It was the very reason some didn't fear death while some feared it to no end.

Even Lakyus believed in the existence of the afterlife. For a mage of his level, he had delved into soul magic and learned some of its secrets.

Through his own research and the notes from those that came before him, a living thing exists in two dimensions at any given time.
