Carrissa thinks.

Carrissa paced up and down, she constantly stared at the large doors which led to the castle and the terrace which had extended itself beyond her view.

Even though the cusses had been stopped temporarily, she was still exasperated.

Her heart felt heavy with anger.

What did she do? Is it bad to speak with your husband?

At this juncture, she had completely forgotten that she aimed at frustrating the man she called a husband but it was well since she had been thrown out.

She fidgeted and stared at the large expanse of the palace.

After throwing her eyes here and there, the only thing that came into view was the large castle which stood elegantly in the middle of this expansive land. The servant quarters were quite a distance from the castle and she couldn't just exit the palace since that would lead to a whole new problem.

She cussed again and stared hatefully at the doors.

She walked over and sat on the staircase which was leading to the doors.

Even though it was cold and uncomfortable, Carrissa bore the brunt of it.

After much tossing, turning and cussing, dawn arrived soon.

With sunken eyes and a pale face which looked sleep-deprived, she stared at the sky.

Her thoughts wandered here and there.

Her life had been full of...indescribable things. That's the right word, indescribable things and emotions.

During her early years, when every child was been pampered by their parents, she only had a parent, the motherly love she felt during her infancy slowly faded from her mind but that didn't mean that she did not miss the woman who broughther into this world.

She loved her father and that was what caused her to fight herself.

She had a path she had carved for herself, a path which didn't hold her im shackles and enabled her to free herself from the constant abuse of women in their time.

Women were meant to endure whatever was passed to them, whether it was sweet or sour, they had no option...well they had one but they never considered it in fear of being an outcast but Carrissa never thought that way, she didn't care about being an outcast or maybe she knew that her father would never abandon her and that made her choose herself over other people.

She chose not to endure but to speak out, she choose not to use flattery words by sharp words which poked the ears of the listener till they bled.

She has never regretted making that decision and she would never regret it. She didn't want to now her head to someone who didn't deserve and she never did.

One could say that based on her status as the daughter of the Xolten Duke she didn't need to do it...

The maids marched over with the butler leading them, the butler intended to use the backdoor till he saw the girl whom his master had married.

He had heard that she was able to relive him of his punishment a little and for that he was grateful but he couldn't acknowledgement as the mistress of the palace.

Her felt that she did not deserve their master but since he had chosen, they would do their best to serve her and mould her into what they want till she walks to her grave, after all humans had short lives.

His red hair fluttered in the wind and his orange eyes glimmered in the dark. His eyes were a lighter shade to Auric's.

He commanded the maids to use the backdoor and he walked towards the lady.

Carrissa was lost in her thought when she felt footsteps nearing her, in the spur of the moment, her icy blue eyes glimmered with a cold light ans turned into blue slits which stared at the 'visitor'.

A frown settled on Helios' countenance when he saw her face.

Even though it was quite dark he knew what he saw since his eyesight was far better than humans. He squinted his eyes for a moment and soon his expression went back to normal. The cold one.

"My lady, what are you doing here?" Carrissa flinched when she heard his voice and soon her eyes returned to normal irises.

She stared at the face of the butler, he seemed to be a middle aged man but he looked younger than most men at his age and more handsome.

She sighed and wondered why all the men in the castle were so handsome that they were the living definition of the word.

"I-I...was locked out." She muttered in a small voice but loud enough for the butler to hear her.

She raised her head to stare at the butler but he had no reaction and stared blankly at her.

"Ok, my lady." He responded and walked away.

Carrissa blinked in disbelief. Did he just leave her here after she told him that their damned master locked her out?

Wow! Just wow! Is this how the Queens of this nation are treated?

She scoffed and wanted to cuss at him but she stopped in consideration of his age but that didn't stop her from muttering under her breath.

"What insolence!"

She resumed the position she was in and it was not until late in the morning before the doors opened.

The doors usually opened earlier but because Auric didn't want her in he extended it and she knew it.

Odin personally came to open the door and stared at Carrissa apologetically.

He felt guilty for letting a lady sleep outside and thought that Auric didn't know how to treat a woman.

Carrissa offered him a small smile and entered the castle.

Her feet padded all the way to her chamber.

As she stood behind the door, she held the knob and felt the door open on it's own.

She saw Auric standing at the opposite side, looking as dashing as ever.

Both stared at each other for a moment, speaking with their eyes till Carrissa entered the chamber leaving him standing there.

She slumped onto the bed and soon went to dream land.

On the other hand, Auric felt no emotions when he saw her, even though she had been making an attempt to speak to him but he didn't want to.

He felt comfortable with his new way of life and wanted the sun to always be blotted by the clouds making the sky look gloomy.

They were different in every thing so there was no need to keep her hopes up when she would never be loved by him.

He ordered the butler to serve Carrissa food when she wakes up and with that, he left to perform his duties as a King.
