Chapter 22

Mr. Lathan's eyes widened with shock. This can not be something she would do. Mr. Lathans followed the men out of the building when he saw all the reporters. All started to ask him questions. But his only response was: "I do not have a daughter anymore, she has put this family at a risk and is a disgrace to the family name." He addressed the media "From this day forward there is no daughter of the Lathan's. Riya looks back at her father and tears start to form in her eyes. He doesn't even look at her as the police put her in the back of the car.

Days later Emma is sitting in a hospital bed awake with Lia by her side. Lia calls Kylen as soon as she opens them after calling for the doctor to check on Emma. Emma's hands slowly reach for her stomach.

"My baby?" she asks in a hoarse voice with pleading eyes for her baby to be ok.

"Your baby is fine." Says the doctor

"Thank you," She gives a weak smile and shuts her eyes again. She is woken up by familiar voices.

"Doctor is she ok?" She hears Kylen asks

"Yes she just needs more rest, she is out of danger."

Hearing the doctor what the doctor says she decides to play a prank on Kylen. She slowly starts to open her eyes. Kylen sees her as she is doing this. He rushes to her side asking her if she is ok.

"Who are you?" She asks him, he turns around to look at the doctor. The doctor looks over at Emma. Emma gives her a wink and the doctor realizes she is messing with him. Maybe they have that kind of relationship. The doctor doesn't want to be a part of any medical jokes.

"I will go have more tests ordered to see what is wrong with her." She walks out of the room.

Emma pulls on Kylen's sleeve. "Excuse me, I asked you who you are?" He sits on the edge of the bed holding her hand.

"I am your fiance and the father of your kid." He says with a frown

"My kid? Where is my kid? I want to see them." She says excitedly.

"The kid is not born yet."

"Then why did you say you were the father? I don't know you."

He sighs and puts his head down to hide the smirk on his face, when he realizes that she is pranking him. She starts to laugh "I am just messing with you baby." He looks up in her eyes and bursts out laughing.

"I knew you were pranking me Emma."

"Wait, how did you know?" She pouts

"Because when I said I was the father of your kid you hand went to your belly" He chuckles.

"Stupid reflexes." crossing her arms across her chest she lays back down.

"Oh, Honey you are just bad at pranks." He smirks and kisses her. "But I'm happy you are ok.

" What happened to Ledger and Riya?"

"They both have been arrested. Riya ran to her father to help her leave the country again, but I sent the media and the police to his company.
