2 Chapter two

True to kamara's vow of leaving Salem,she found a herb that makes demons to fall asleep for twenty four hours when inhaled. She just couldn't wait to get her hands on the seal that'll enable them passage across the northern border.

In the middle of the night,she took the herb,squeezed its juice and applied it all over her body,and went to the kings court room. The guards at the door fell asleep immediately they inhaled the herb. She entered immediately,took the seal and disappeared to her house. Once she was in her room,she took her bathe immediately in order to wash the herbs off. After drying her body, she changed into something comfortable. She went into her mothers room and found her sleeping. She woke her up.

Laura:(yawns) what is it kamara?

Kamara:remember what I told you about getting the seal,eh?

Laura:yeah. So?.

Laura was still feeling very sleepy.

Kamara: I've gotten it.

That seemed to do the magic,cause it wiped the sleep off Laura's face.

Laura:you've what?

Kamara: you heard me clearly.

Laura:what? How on earth were you able to get it? Don't tell me you stole it.

Kamara:(rolled her eyes) how else would I have gotten if I didn't steal it?

Laura:Wait a minute. How come no guards saw you?

Kamara: even if they saw me,they won't be able to do anything, cause I used...

Her mother cut her off.

Laura: don't tell me that you used the zeus name?

Kamara:that was the only way out momma.

Laura:geez kamara. What if you were caught?

Kamara simply rolled her eyes at her mothers question.

Kamara:but I wasn't caught. That's all that matters. Stop least you should be grateful for that. So if you don't mind, can we start moving?

Unknown to Laura and Kamara, the kings human spy saw them heading towards the northern border. 'That'll only mean that they're leaving Salem.

Immediately,he alerted the guards.

King Riverdale was taking sexual pleasures from one of his mistress,when he heard a knock on the door of his chambers.

King Riverdale: who's there?

The way he spoke,he sounded annoyed. Because he was interrupted. He didn't stop taking pleasures from her body though.

Greg:sorry to interrupt you my lord. The human spy, Donata is here to see you.

King Riverdale: dismiss him if he don't have any important thing to say.

Greg:No my lord,he has something very important to say. He informed us that the Chad's are heading towards the northern border.

Greg must have sensed that the king was really 'busy',due to the continuous moaning and grunting he was hearing from the king's room.

Greg: if you insist my lord,I'll come back later when you're less busy.

The king still didn't reply him. He waited and waited and waited. He sighed in disappointment. Just when he was about leaving,the king spoke up.

King Riverdale: I'll be there soon.

Greg: yes my lord.

He bowed and left.

Minutes later, the king dressed up and went into the consultation room. There he met Donata waiting patiently for him. As soon as he saw the king, he bowed in obeisance.

Donata:greetings my lord.

The king nodded his head in acknowledgment.

King Riverdale: I was informed that you have something very important to say.

Donata: yes my lord. I saw the Chad's heading towards the northern border,that'll only mean they're trying to esca.....

King Riverdale:that's lame. They can't leave without the sea.....

The door opening interrupted the king. He cussed at the intruder. It was one of his guards, Zarine.

Zarine:(bows his head) sorry to interrupt you my lord, the seal is missing.

King Riverdale: (yells) what? How's that possible? Guards?

Two guards rushed into the consultation room and bowed before the king.

" yes my lord" they said at the same time.

King Riverdale:send your men to block the northern border. Laura and her child mustn't leave Salem. No one of them must escape. No one can leave Salem as long as I am king.

"Yes my lord" they answered, bowed and left the room.

King Riverdale: you( points at Zarine) check the guards that were on duty in the court room.

Zarine: yes my lord.

Zarine left too. He went to the court room and found the guards sleeping. He shook them in and attempt to wake them up,but they didn't budge. He inhaled the herb. Not wanting it to affect him,he used his hand to cover his nose. He left to inform the king of the guards on duty.

Zarine: My lord. The guards on duty were Draco and Dargak.

King Riverdale:bring them here.

Zarine swallowed. He didn't know how he'll tell the king of his findings. He maned up.

Zarine: they're asleep.

King Riverdale:asleep?

Zarine: yes my lord. The intruder must have used zeus bane on them.

King Riverdale: Zeus bane? (Scoffed) Laura is definitely biting more than she can chew. Tell Angie I summon him. Tell him to attend to Draco and Dargak.

Zarine: yes my lord.

Laura and Kamara kept on running. They didn't know that the king was already aware of their departure. Laura being a sensitive demon knew that the king's guards were coming after them.

Laura:Run faster Kamara. The guards are coming after us.

Kamara: we're almost there mom.

The two of them had successfully crossed the third to the last barricade. When Riverdale was made king of Salem, he built some barricade in the northern border that'll make demons leaving Salem difficult. The demons in Salem were really afraid of leaving Salem,especially because of the barricade. It usually makes them weak and powerless.

Just as there about crossing the second to last barricade,the guards shot and arrow.

Kamara: oh mom! The guards are really getting close. I really hate that we can't use our powers in this shitty barricade.

Laura:shut up and run you girl.

The mother and daughter continued running. This time around,the guards shot and arrow and they didn't miss. They were almost at the last barricade.

The arrow hit Laura on her back and she fell down on the floor. She shrieked in pain. She was feeling very weak in the spot where she was shot. She needed no soothsayer to tell her that the arrow she was shot with was poisoned.

Kamara heard her mother's scream and stopped running. She turned back and went closer to her mother.

Kamara: no mother. Don't give up. You can't give up. We're almost there.

She took her mothers hand and helped her on her feet.

Tamara: we both can't give up. Our punishment will be deadly.

Laura leaned on kamara and they walked for a while. As time goes on, Laura was getting more tired and weak.

Laura: i can't do this Kamara. Am in pains.

Kamara: I know you can. The king will definitely kill us once the guards catches up with us. Let's get going.

Kamara looked back and saw that the guards were almost getting closer. Her heart thumped in her chest. She looks scared. She just can't imagine what the king will do to them. She shrugged the thought of her mind. The guards won't catch them. Not now. Not ever. Not when her escape was in her hands.

Laura: I can't Kamara. I can die for you, but I won't forgive myself if anything happens to you. Go. Kamara go. The guards are almost here. Don't ever come back to Salem. Run.

Kamara:what about you?

Laura:shut up and run you idiot. Don't worry about me. Now go.

Kamara didn't want to leave her mother,but glancing back,she saw that the guards weren't so far away again. She turned and looked at her mother. She hugged her mother and pulled away. Her mother nodded her head towards her in encouragement. Without wanting to waste more time, she took to her heels. Once she was near the main border,she touched the seal,and changed something and immediately the invisible road opened and she passed through it. It was really a painful experience,as it drained her of all her strength,but she made it.

Laura sighed in relief as she saw that her daughter had successfully left Salem. She used her hands and removed the arrow from her back. She tried using her powers to heal herself,but it wasn't making any difference. She sat on the floor feeling really tired. The guards finally reached where she was.

Zarine: where is your daughter?

Laura: I don't know.

Zarine: maybe you'll know when we get to the king.

Two guards seized her and chained her. They chained her hands to the horse that they came with and the person on the horse began to ride on it,dragging her at the process. They went back to the kings palace.
