I imagined the core's beautiful green hue becoming brighter as I concentrated, a burst of strength erupting from its heart. I forced the mana according to a soft thought, twisting it into tendrils of energy that reached from my center to the tips of my fingers.

I could feel the mana responding with a subtle motion, creating a protective barrier around me, ready to shield against any threat. My instructions to my mana acted as the connection between defense and offense.

As I formed the shield around me, I opened my eyes to look at the shimmering barrier. However, the shield just vanished in an instant.
