"Whatever I have done~"

"I did it for love~"

"I did it for fun~"

I was singing my heart out as if Christmas had arrived or Santa had visited me.

I was in my lab continuing with my research but it seems the music got the better part of me.

After a few minutes of singing the lyrics from my mind, the music ended.

I then blankly looked at my hands.

"What have I done?"

"I have just totally destroyed a whole city but here I am, singing like nobody's business."

I then chuckled at myself for trying to look for any ounce of guilt in my being.

There wasn't any.

I felt normal.

No sympathy.

In my mind, my actions had been noble and unselfish.

Truly heroic.

I was humanity's heroic spirit but there was no Chaldea.

"Sacramento, Oakland... At least, California survived this time round without necessarily being turned into ashes." I commented while looking at the cryo-stasis chambers that held chunks of blue fleshy tissues.

I then touched my chin in contemplation.

"I don't think I have affected much but only created a mystery. I will not bother myself with other Kaiju attacks that will occur."

"Humanity has to join hands themselves to counterattack against the unknown extraterrestrial enemies."

"They need to feel the fear of the unknown to accelerate their development."

After all, I wasn't humanity's promised messiah but a crazy otherworldly soul just minding his own business with experiments.

"On second thought, I think it will prove better for them to kill the Kaijus for me... and I will be here waiting... just to harvest the Kaiju organs." I smiled cheekily while pacing around the lab.

"That's brilliant," I said blandly.

I then returned to my research on Kaiju DNA.

Kaiju genes and human genes weren't compatible.

But how was 'Boy' created in the events of Pacific Rim: The Black?

How was a Kaiju-human hybrid made possible?

What scientific process was followed to bypass the genetic incompatibility between a human and a Kaiju?

How could I isolate the most suitable genes of a Kaiju to augment the human body?

All sorts of questions whirled like a tsunami in my ever vivid mind.

I was essentially in a world of my own - The Zone.

Or it was better to call it the Knowledge Zone, accessible to only the elite and insane geniuses.

But even with so many ideas and thoughts running amok in my head, I couldn't arrive at the possible solution.

"Maybe I am wasting my time thinking about Kaiju biotechnology..." I stopped pacing around.

Then an idea popped in my head.

"I shouldn't be worried about the Kaiju genes for the time being. The breach wouldn't go anywhere for now."

"The day I squeeze all the alien knowledge from the Precursors will be the day... I will have all my questions answered."

I then looked at the centrifuge where I proceeded to remove a test tube containing a blood sample. Of course, I had my surgical gloves on.

I have never forgotten the standard laboratory procedures, right?

Through my glasses, I carefully investigated the contents in the test tube.

It was a blood sample from a T-Virus infected host that had sadly... shuffled off the mortal coil.

"The supernatant serum in this one will do." Taking the resultant serum from the tube, I smeared a drop on a slide before comfortably sitting myself before a microscope.

Without further ado, I placed the slide carefully on the stage and proceeded to observe the cellular response happening inside the serum.

The world under a microscope was beautiful and fascinating.

This was a world of molecular biology.

The micro-universe of all living things.

"The T-Virus seems very hyperactive, casually hijacking the cell functions." I smiled while observing through the optic lenses.

"These little guys are the ones that have made zombies throughout the many Zombie movies that I have seen."

Even if it wasn't the T-Virus, many zombification were as a result of a deadly viral infection.

In my previous life, there was one time that a certain country tried to reproduce a bioweapon named COVID but things didn't go as planned.

The virus had leaked further causing a global pandemic.

But humans will always be humans...

A vaccine came after that.

The virus didn't even have the courage to enter my system, hehe.

I had soldiers of my own -named nanites- defending my immunity system and boosting my white blood cells lethality.

COVID was a simple matter even if it claimed the lives of many but the T-Virus...

The T-Virus was on a whole 'nother level.

A superior virus. A deadly bio-weapon, if left unchecked, could potentially halve the world's population in a matter of days!

But honestly, the zombie virus that brought chills in me was the one in World War Z, code named: Solanum.

The inhuman aggression of the affected hosts was horrific.

They were ridiculously faster than the zombies of Resident Evil.

They were the perfect definition of Zombies in god mode or even an overdose of steroids!

Just remembering how the seemingly unlimited hordes of zombies were trying to climb over the walls of Jerusalem... damnit, that was a complete horror show.

And what made Solanum deadly was its lack of a cure unlike T-Virus which had been on various occasions easily cured by the efforts of some brilliant individuals.

"Constantly replicating itself from the parent cell and spreading its tyranny to the neighboring cells," I said in amazement.

"What I have to do is contain this tyranny and merge it with human characteristics for a perfect genetic harmony. Isn't that how Alice got her telekinetic powers?"

But she had to undergo constant experimentation from the Umbrella Corporation for her telekinetic abilities to manifest.

I wasn't Umbrella Aca-... Umbrella Corporation... so I was going to get the perfect version of T-Virus in my own way.

If it would prove very difficult then I would casually create my own type chemical X out of my ass to bring out the perfect solution.

I chuckled after thinking about the long lists of scientists that achieved their revolutionizing scientific discoveries after a teeny tiny bit of luck shone over them and then... WAA... a breakthrough.

A breakthrough result that they will then find hard to replicate. Just take Proto-adamantium as an example or the chemical solution that created the Powerpuff girls.

I leaned away from the microscope while absentmindedly biting my lower lip.

My eyes were shining with cognizance.

"Yay~"

I had been enlightened.

"My Eureka moment has arrived."

Lady Luck was finally simping over my sexiness!
