CHAPTER TEN: Awaking.

Boy fell asleep with the pot in his hands. The ground was wet and the building was a pile of bricks and ashes. When he finally woke he noticed how open it was. He sat up with the pot and looked around. Some of the trees got burnt down but stopped a few inches out. The building had been completely destroyed. He walked over into the ashes and picked up a burnt toy he remembered a little girl playing with.

He thankfully found no bodies in the area he was in. He looked up into the clear sky. Not a single cloud in sight.

He sighed harshly and looked down at the pot.

The pot was overflowing with water.

"Borris!?" He called out to the sagging sprout that was hunched over.

"Huh?" Borris said from behind.

Boy turned around and saw Borris was a little taller than before.

"Borris, you grew?"

Borris shrugged and knelt down. He rested his hand on something and sighed. Boy walked over and saw a body.

He covered his mouth and stepped back,

"Who is that?!" Boy looked at the body then back at Borris.

"It's.." He paused and seemed like he was looking at the body again.

"Tony."

Boy stopped and rested his eyes on Tony, or what was left of him. Then he recognized the shirt he wore before he died. His stomach turned and his throat felt like someone was stabbing it with tiny needles.

He looked at Borris and then turned around to puke.

"Hey, you okay?" Borris yelled, running over to Boy.

"We need to get out of here." Boy said, wiping his mouth.

He tipped the pot over to pour some of the water out of the pot so Borris wouldn't be overflowing with water. He stepped out of the property and walked down the long pathway leading to the road but instead of making it to the road, he stopped in the middle. He looked back at the house then looked at the ground. What was left of the grass, He looked at the burnt grass and watched as it soon faded into green.

He sighed and walked back over to the ashes. He found where Girl's window would have been and scooped up some dirt. He lumped it to look like a grave. He found a rock and picked a flower. He placed the rock behind the dirt and stared at the flower.

The flower he never got to see before because of the perfect lawn.

The one he had a chance to see but couldn't because Malinda ran over it.

Carelessly.

He felt the petals of the flower and smiled. He dropped it on the lump of dirt.

"Do you miss her?" Borris walked over to Boy slowly.

"That's a stupid question, Borris."

"So you don't?"

Boy turned around and stood up high.

"Stop talking about her. Bring her up again and I'm leaving you."

"Out here in the cold?" Borris shook when he imagined the coldness of the night.

"Yes. Now, where do we go now? 'Mr. I can tell the future'." Boy threw his bag over his shoulders and took a quick look at the mini grave then started walking down the driveway again.

"I'm not sure. And I can't predict the future Boy. I get told this, So they tell the future." Borris said following behind Boy.

Boy reached the end of the driveway and looked left then right.

"Left seems to be an ongoing road leading deeper into the forest."

"Right.. Well, I think that's where the cop came from."

"Then we go right!" Borris skipped in front of Boy and continued down the road. Boy shrugged and followed him.

"What do we do when we get there?" Boy asked.

"Find help."

Boy looked back at the disappearing driveway and sighed softly.

"Good night.."
