Promise

After listening to a very long lecture from Makino, Luffy then sat beside Shanks and started chatting with him.

Not only Shanks, even the crew also joined in the conversation with Luffy, making the atmosphere at the bar very comfortable.

Unfortunately, that happy moment had to end when a man suddenly kicked Makino's bar door. He walked around arrogantly with his head held up like he owned this place.

To be honest, even while watching the anime I really didn't like this guy, and now when I see him in person, his face makes my blood boil even more.

He seemed to notice my gaze so he turn to me. I turned my head to face the fat man beside me, avoiding his gaze.

Even though I have talent, but I can't do anything yet.

What do you expect from me who has locked myself in my room since I was in 2nd grade of junior high school. I don't even know the basics for fighting.

After I ignored him, the man with the arrogant look started walking towards the counter again.

Arriving at the counter, Makino immediately apologized because the supply of beer at the bar had run out.

The man looked at Shanks and suddenly took out his sword and slashed at a bottle that was beside Shanks. As a result, Shanks, who looked shocked, suddenly fell and became wet from the spilled beer.

Luffy, who saw all that was happening before his eyes, couldn't keep quiet anymore and immediately tried to attack the man but was stopped by Makino.

Makino quickly apologized to the man. However, the man doesn't seem to want to accept Makino's apology and wants to continue with his actions.

At that moment, Shanks immediately stood up and apologized to Makino for the damage done to her bar. He looked at the man with side eyes and whispered something to him.

I noticed that Shanks' crew seemed to be on to something. As the man shifted his gaze to the pirates, he could only retreat for the time being as he was heavily outnumbered. Maybe that was what he thought so he walked out of the bar unhappy, but didn't forget to leave a word of threat that he would return.

After he left, Shanks and his crew burst into laughter. But there is someone who is not happy about that.

"That's not funny! Why would you let him do something like that to you?!" Luffy looks angry at the behavior of Shanks and his crew.

Seeing Luffy who was angry, They laughed again.

After laughing for a while, they finally stopped.

Shanks, who saw Luffy's sullen face, intended to cheer him up.

"Hey, Luffy, in this world there are many people like him. Felt he was the greatest because he had a bounty on his head. He thought that he was the most dangerous person.If you spend your time to argue with people like him, then your intelligence will fall to the same level as his."

Luffy, who didn't understand what Shanks' words meant, still maintained his sullen expression.

Seeing Luffy's behavior, Shanks couldn't take it anymore and started laughing again.

And as for Luffy, when I turned to him, he looked like he was eating something. Shanks beside him, suddenly stopped laughing and started to panic.

"You kid! What are you eating?!"

Luffy looked at Shanks, confused.

Shanks who saw the box next to Luffy was empty, suddenly became more and more panicked. He started to hold Luffy off his feet while shaking him.

"Quickly spit it out!"

Unfortunately he was too late. Luffy's leg that Shanks was holding suddenly extended making his face touch the ground.

"Luffy! Did you know what you just eat?!"

"It's a devil fruit. If you eat a devil fruit you will be hated by the sea and as a result you can't swim anymore."

Hearing Shanks' explanation, Luffy was shocked.

Seeing the behavior of the boy in front of him, Shanks could only sigh heavily.

That afternoon, Luffy suddenly disappeared. Not long after that, the head of the village came running, He quickly informed Makino that Luffy was being held hostage by a group of bandits.

Hearing the news, Shanks and his crew headed straight to the place the village head had mentioned.

When they got there, they saw Luffy who was being held by a group of bandits, each of them had swords and guns, putting on arrogant looks.

Shanks suddenly walked straight towards Luffy. However, a bandit suddenly pointed his gun at Shanks' head.

Shanks stopped, then pointed at his gun.

"If you're holding a dangerous item like this, then you have to put your life on the line."

Suddenly, the fat man who still had a chicken thigh in his mouth appeared beside Shanks and fired his gun at the bandit's head.

The usually arrogant bandit boss fell silent instantly. He immediately ordered his men to attack Shanks' group.

To make matters worse, after ordering his men like that, he fled on his own like a coward while still carrying Luffy.

Shanks who saw that, immediately chased after him.

Meanwhile, the rest of the bandits were taken care of by The Red Hair Pirate's vice-captain, Ben Beckman. He defeated the bandits using only his rifle to beat them and not shoot them.

Even though I didn't follow Shanks to chase Luffy, I already knew what the result would be. So I went back to the bar with Makino.

As I expected, it wasn't long before Shanks returned with one arm missing while holding the crying Luffy.

The ship's doctor from The Red Hair Pirate immediately dealt with Shanks' wound swiftly. Even though he sighs inside. He was probably worried about what would happen if people found out about Shanks' condition.

Despite getting permanently injured, Shanks was as cheerful as ever. That night, Makino treated all the red-haired pirate crew to their heart's content.

The night passed quickly, finally today was the day when Shanks and his crew had to sail again because they already had enough resources.

Before leaving, Shanks spoke to Luffy. As usual, Shanks taunted him that he could never become a pirate. Luffy replied back that he would assemble his own crew, and would become an even greater pirate than Shank's crew.

After hearing Luffy's determined words, Shanks suddenly took off his straw hat and placed it on Luffy's head.

"In that case, I will leave this straw hat to you. This hat is a priceless treasure for me. You can return it if you have become a better pirate than me.

It was then, a promise that would change the destiny of this world was made.

After he finished saying his farewells, Shank and his crew began sailing out of the harbor.

Seeing that Luffy had found his goal, I said to myself.

'Maybe it's time to start my training.'
