2 Chapter 1 (part 2)

The next day, when Tsuyu arrived, team 7 was already waiting for him. Kakashi included. They all glared at him waiting for an explanation.

"Ah! I helped this granny to her home and she asked me to stay for lunch. I couldn't say no.... Gomen."

"Are you really telling the truth?" Naruto eyed him.

"Yup! Here, I even brought some for you." Tsuyu handed some stew to Naruto.

Naruto belly was already growling from the fragrance. Embarrassed, he rub his head and laughed.

"Hnn." Sasuke snorted and turned away.

The ignored Kakashi coughed and finally got their attention.

He searched his pockets and fished out a pair of bells.

"You have till noon to get these bells. If you don't, I'll send you back to the academy."

"You can't do that!" Refuted Naruto.

"I can and I will. Now come at me!"

In a split second, Sasuke rushed over. He was already upset for getting "pigs" teammates and now he'll be send back? No chance!

He threw a punch that Kakashi easily blocked, but Sasuke wasn't to be underestimated, with a twist he raised his leg to kick down on Kakashi's head but it got blocked as well. He had to retreat, a Jonin was still above his league.

"Not bad." said Kakashi. The boy wasn't number one without any reason.

During the exchange, Naruto had sneaked from their behind and he popped a shadow clone to attack, however he was also neutralised and had to retreat as well.

Kakashi stood in the middle of the field, provoking them without a word.

With a new understanding of their opponent's strength, the boys did a strategic retreat.

Still, Kakashi was unperturbed. He took out a porn book and sat down on a rock laying nearby.

In a bush not far away, the three hid.

"How are we supposed to get the bells when we can't even get near!"

Among them, Naruto was the most frustrated. Afterall, he passed the academy after 4 tries and he might be repeating another time.

"Why don't we team up? I mean, we're only a genin so how are we supposed to beat a Jonin. I bet that sensei is only testing our teamwork."

"Yeah! That makes sense!"

"Hn." Sasuke snorted a recognition.

"First, let's share our abilities so that we can work better. I'm good in support, I can heal, restore your stamina and chakra."

"I can use a firestyle jutsu." Said Sasuke.

"Oh! I know shadow clone!" Naruto chimed in.

Tsuyu didn't tell them that he could use nature's chakra giving him access to unlimited chakra and the other abilities that he can't control yet.

"Alright so here's my plan, Naruto's shadow clone will charge head on and Sasuke will sneak up from the back with his jutsu."

"That simple?" Asked Naruto.

"Yes and no, next I'll do a feint attack transformed as naruto and the real Naruto will try to steal the bells."

"I'm fine with it. Atleast it's better than nothing." Sasuke said taking out his kunai.

"I hope this works! I really don't want to repeat again!"

Are they done yet?

Kakashi yawned. It was almost noon and he was out of books to read.

From a distance he could see Narutos running straight at him.

Bored, he decided to play for a bit.

Instantly he arrive behind Naruto.

"Secret technique: Thousand years of death!"

With a mischievous grin, Kakashi crouched and poked his fingers at that part. The damage was too much that 'Naruto turned into smoke.'

Naruto hidden in the bush felt a chill creep up his spine.

"Shadow clone?" Kakashi nodded impressed. They finally decided to work together.

Fooooo~

Kakashi turned around to see a huge ball of fire rolling towards him.

However, this much was too easy.

He flickered out of it's linear path.

"Tsuyu now!"

Just then, other 'Naruto' cancelled his transformation and latched onto him.

Sasuke smirked, victory was right around the corner. Now, all he have to do is trust his teammates.

Wait... where's Naruto. That idiot!

"Times up!"

Kakashi appeared from a bush, Naruto in his control, the latter was bound with a rope.

"Sorry guys, I got caught."

"Eh!" The Kakashi that Tsuyu caught turn into a wood.

Kakashi eyes narrowed to a smile. He didn't expect a fresher genin to work perfectly together. All he wanted to see was their willingness to work together.

"Well you all passed."

'Rin... Obito... Sensei... I'll try this time.'

"Yayyy~" Tsuyu pulled Naruto and Sasuke into a group hug.

"Damn! This is the best stew ever!"

"Don't talk with food in your mouth Naruto. But I agree this stew is good."

"Let's thank the granny later then~"

Tsuyu brought out a picnic set and the team had no choice but to enjoy the rest of their day because Naruto was protesting they do.

'This is not that bad...' thought Kakashi, for some reason this team resonated with his sentiments and he was reminded of his olden days.

He took a deep breath, fully enjoying the relaxing atmosphere.

It was not just him, even Sasuke, after a long time his heart felt really empty.

The blue sly.... the drifting clouds...

Yawn~ I guess it's ok to nap. Everyone had the same thought.

When they woke up, the sun had already set.

Kakashi stood up and said.

"Boys, I guess we wind up our activity here. We'll start our D-rank mission from tomorrow, so come at the mission hall after lunch."

"Sensei, I say we camp tonight."

Saying so, Tsuyu brought out a couple of mattresses, pillows, blankets and a bag of high quality beef.

"Where did you keep all that!?"

Naruto asked what everyone had thought. They were all surprised by Tsuyu audacity...

Tsuyu has been two words...

Too extravagant!

"My parents left me enough money to spend till nine generations. So I commissioned a few storage seals."

Shrugged Tsuyu, but this explanation seemed more plausible then saying he had inventory where the items in it never exhaust.

"Sigh~ I can't be helped then."

And so the team spend their nights talking, opening up to each others, and laughing. With a blissful smile, they all went to sleep at midnight.
