7 Chapter 7

I was currently hugged from behind by a lion man who had just declared himself to be gay.

I remembered him as the gym bro whose vibe I clicked with but never knew his name. All of those times were fake. And now, he was hugging me from behind?

Outrageous!

Something had flipped the switch inside me as a red aura enveloped me.

"Hey, stop," the lion man said.

"Get away from me, you traitor," I said, full of rage.

"Stop being homophobic," replied the lion man.

"Stop being sensitive," I retorted, causing the lion to press his claws on my neck.

The nail that scratched my neck didn't make contact as my aura reacted to it, forcing the lion's hand to move away. He opened his eyes widely.

The barrier that surrounded me, rendering me unable to move, was pushed away. I moved my hand, and I realized that I could move. But my action didn't come without a price.

The man with lightning surrounding his hand aimed at me and released a lightning ball, which hit me. The lightning, instead of reflecting, was absorbed by my body like I usually do to Mana stones.

As a user of the Yang Breathing method, lightning and fire were my thing.

I focused my energy on my fist, wrapping it in a red-like thing, turning and punching the lion man in the chest, sending him flying to hit a shelf.

I then took a large leap backward, reaching the side of the heroes. I was thankful that I escaped, and I wouldn't try to make a fight. I wasn't stupid enough to continue fighting and take blame for the public damage. That's the hero's thing.

"Ara. Ara. We have a naughty boy who used his quirk," the heroine's eyes met mine as she held her whip. She licked her lips and looked forward, "Don't worry. I'll protect you."

'I'll protect you.' Although it was a lame sentence, I felt something rising within me, and it wasn't the shield hero.

Walking to the side of the villain, the heroine tore a part of her skin-tight suit. From her skin, a pink fog was released and wrapped the villains, who fell unconscious on the ground.

Behind me were a bunch of other heroes whom I thought were her sidekicks.

'If I'm not wrong, this woman is Midnight. I mean, she has the shape.'

I watched her back as she did whatever she did next.

What did she do? Don't ask me. My eyes missed that part. Even if you brought the footage and asked me what color the potato chips bag was next to her black heels, I wouldn't get the correct answer.

I kept watching her back until a red aura came into my vision. I shook my head and looked at my hands. The Mana was getting out of my body, forming the aura. The energy around my heart was getting depleted. I needed to stop it, or else my heart would get tired, and in the worst case, stop. I tried to control the energy, trying to push it back to my heart, and it did.

'I've awakened my aura,' I thought with a smile. 'And it reflected even a sharp nail from my neck.' Those were good news. I wanted to feel safe after all. And having a defense-offensive power was better than offensive in my view.

"Ara. Ara. Naughty boy. You know it's illegal for you to use your quirk." The blue-eyed woman came to me and held my chin, looking down into my eyes.

I smiled. "I didn't know I had a quirk." Her face was close. Damn. She was close, and those lips of hers. If she took another step, those melons of hers would almost be on my chest.

What the hell!? I'm sharing a lot with Mineta. Damn.

I'm scared-aroused.

Smirking, she said, "Relax, I'm joking with you. You did a good job by giving us room to interfere and leave the rest to us. I'm just here to warn you not to use your quirk when it's not your only and last option."

She then took her face back.

'Where were you going? Come back here,' I thought.

As she was walking back, she stopped and turned her face to me. "Say that again."

Did I say my thoughts out loud? Embarrassed, my cheeks turned a bit red.

"What?" I asked, pretending not to hear her well.

"The thing about you just said about awakening your quirk now?" she asked.

I almost sighed in relief.

"It's true." The cashier appeared from nowhere. "Kenshiro was quirkless his whole life. And this red energy of his, It's the first time I saw it."

The cashier was a true bro. He saved me from explaining things.

"A quirk with an awakening condition," she said, "I'm a teacher at UA. Midnight. I know these things."

"Oh. I guess you're right." I replied, glad that people are making excuses for me.

"I guess when you heard that lion male was gay, you experienced something to awaken your power." Midnight said. "So, what do you call that quirk?"

Well, she wasn't totally wrong. To awaken my aura, I either needed to meditate for a long time or a trigger.

"Aura. Guess there is some energy in me that I can control." I said, focusing on my mana to my hand. Unlike the rest of my body, the red aura wrapped my hand, glowing slightly. I brought it in front of me and looked at it.

I then retracted it.

"After getting it, you're controlling it perfectly?" She said, eyebrows lifted and eyes opened more slightly. Well. I couldn't blame her for her reaction. After all, I was like a toddler who had just awakened his quirk. To control it I'd need more time and experience. And she wasn't wrong. Because currently, I was at a rank where I couldn't control my aura, just release it. Once I reached the first rank, I would be able to send air blades in the air if I held a word. Epic Rank, Legendary rank? What do they hold? I didn't know. But I'll ask the guys in the chat later.

"It feels like moving an extra limb." I replied, "Though, it feels a bit difficult. But I guess it's like riding a bike. I'll get the hang of it in no time."

"By the way, what academic year are you at?" She asked, placing her hand on her hip.

"After the summer, I'll get into high school." I replied.

"You're between fourteen and fifteen?" She asked.

I nodded. She examined my body, then took a deep breath and shook her head.

Because of my muscles and the layer of fats, I may appear older than I was.

"Mmm… Can we have a walk?" she said as she turned. I took another peek at her rear, and I thought I might try my luck asking her out.

"Sure." I replied.

I walked behind Midnight, enjoying the view before the media could get here. The last thing I wanted was to get caught staring and then being attacked by everyone in the comments on the Internet by people who originally got click-baited by the assets I was staring at.

"So, you said you're going to high school?" she asked.

"Yes," I replied.

"Look at my face instead," she said as she turned to me and put her hands on her hips.

"Do you tell people that while giving them your back?" I replied, shrugging my shoulders. "It's not like my quirk allows me to see people's faces from behind."

She sadistically smirked, then her lips became normal again, and she said, "You have a very promising quirk. Have you ever considered becoming a hero?"

Have I considered becoming a hero who could own a whole building and tons of money?

Hell yeah, I did consider it.

"It came to my mind," I shrugged. "But why do you ask?"

"I thought that I could recommend you to UA directly," she said, "If you passed the recommendation test, which is before the entrance exam for the others, you'd get into the hero course easily and before everyone."

"Really? You'd recommend me?" I asked, opening my eyes widely.

"You have potentials. You can protect yourself from sharp objects and punch hard, and your quirk is easy to control. It's enough to be recommended," she replied.

I felt so happy that I almost cried. Then I remembered the boy who cried on Nicki Minaj's chest in my previous life.

Opening my arms widely, I hugged her, pretending to be so happy, her breasts resting on my neck. Her body was really soft.

With a beauty and body like that, I think she could be my wife. I should ask her out. The worst thing she could say is no.

"It's okay. It's not like you passed or something," Midnight said, giving me a few pats on the back. "Now, let me or I'll knock you out."

I pulled back. "Sorry, it felt like a dream. I thought of taking advantage before I wake up."

"Fufufu. You're funny," she replied. "But jokes won't get you out of every situation."

"Anyway," I looked at her, "would you like to hang out some time else, maybe getting to know each other."

She placed her finger on my lip. "Listen, I'm flattered. But I'm old enough to be your mother."

Old enough to be your mother? I'm never going to forget this for the rest of my life.

"What about mommy?" I replied. Somehow, my social anxiety inhibitors were on.

Midnight chuckled. "I'd be your teacher. But you could look for girls your age."

Look for girls your age?

And here I thought that the worst was her saying no. It's okay. It's a man's life. Rejection wasn't personal, and it would make my personality stronger. I should do this until I wouldn't feel anything.

Seeing that I was getting silent, Midnight put her hands on my shoulder and asked, "Sorry if it did hurt you. I'd consider dating you when you get older."

"It's okay. I'm already over it," I shrugged my shoulder, smiling. "No need to overthink it."

"This fast?" Midnight raised an eyebrow, seeming offended.

"I mean, I was a hostage a moment ago, and I'm already over that. Anyway. You said the test is next month." I said. That was way before the entrance exam.

She nodded, extending her phone to me. "Leave me your full name, address, and parents' phone."

"Thanks." I said as I typed the details she asked for.

After exchanging contact details, she asked me to wait for the recommendation letter to arrive at my address. That's when I bid farewell before I went to continue my jog. Although I usually would take a break when I have a bad day, I had to do something to forget the emotional damage.

'I think I owe Mineta an apology for making fun of him for being rejected. It hurts as fuck.' I thought.

When I got home, I saw Mineta. I stared at him for some time.

"What are you looking at, prick?" he asked. There's no way I'd apologize to someone like him.

"You look like a chicken," I said as I headed to my room.

"By the way, do you want to buy my balls?" Mineta asked.

I turned to him, "You've already spent your money?"

Mineta nodded. "My girlfriends have expensive taste."

Did he just say a couple of girlfriends? You know, that's a very rude thing to say to someone who just got his first rejection.

I shook my head and said, "I'm broke for now. But I'll get you a deal."

"Do you sell them?" Mineta asked.

"Yeah. Of course, I do. Do you think money grows on trees?" I replied. "The people I'm dealing with use these for pranks. For now, they didn't request any."

"Once they do, please, don't waste time," Mineta said.

I didn't know how to break the news to him since Orochimaru was making me a passive income that I no longer needed Mineta. But I could use him as a cow for extra cash. For now, let's see if he could keep his 'girlfriends.'

"Why are you smiling like that?" Mineta asked, taking a step back while looking at my face.

"Is something wrong with smiling randomly?" I asked.

"Yes, especially if you look like you have vicious thoughts," he replied.

"The winter is coming."

"Huh?"

Ignoring him for now, I headed to my room. I have got more important things to spend time on.
