20 Chapter 20

After that weird conversation with my business partner, Orochimaru, I shook my head and spent the night shopping, looking for something to help me break through the Earth Realm. Cultivation methods were relatively cheap compared to top-tier medicines and resources. That's why I needed money, which won't be a problem now since Orochimaru could sell Stain's saliva and produce it. No, he'd just sell the enzymes since the saliva itself could be cloned. To me, those were good news since I'd be getting a good amount of money out of it and no one else would clone it. He'd work and do deals, I'd lay down and get income.

Before sleeping, I spent my money buying something, taking advantage of a 20% discount, before putting it on sale for the same price again, taking advantage of the free transaction fee. Now I just needed to be patient a bit to get my profit.

'I want to level up though and see what there is in higher worlds.'

With that thought, I took a meditative pose and cultivated until the morning before moving into the school.

I thought that I'd get scolded or something after what I've done yesterday – getting into a conversation with a villain and saving a couple of people. But that didn't happen at all. When I entered, a few of my classmates looked at me before chatting among each other.

Finding that weird, I took my seat next to Tamaki and asked, "What's everyone talking about?"

"You don't know? Are you that oblivious?"

I shook my head. Was there an important event by now?

"The teacher will explain anyway," said Tamaki. Just as he closed his mouth, Midnight entered, and I stopped asking questions, paying attention to the visual details.

I shrugged and put one leg above the other. "Did you guys hear what she said?" I asked, thinking no male student would pay attention to studying.

"You're not interested in sports, are you?" asked Tamaki. "Most of the people look forward to the festivals."

"Festivals," I raised my head, remembering something like that. Many people looked forward to it, to see national heroes using their quirks and competing in sports. But the thing was that I had never been interested in it. Maybe because I had been a quirkless person, I didn't like to see people with quirks showing off. People from my previous life wouldn't understand it. But seeing a superhuman to a quirkless person was like being a cripple watching kids running in a field.

"Never watched them. Are they good?" I asked, quite curious.

"Nothing is more exciting," he replied, "not only that. But many agencies and heroes would watch them to scout us. It's a career boost to get trained under a famous hero."

"Oh, so that's it," I put one leg above the other, thinking it wasn't worthy of my time. Since I had the ability to absorb knowledge, martial arts, from the system, why did I need training under a famous hero?

But still, the career-boosting words got to me. After all, I'm someone who looked to be rich in this world – not really, I want to gain enough strength before Japan becomes lawless. If you think about it, if I made 3 million dollars, then I'd make 10,000 coins. Let's not forget the sponsors who could shower you with more than that. Don't underestimate how much heroes could make. In this world, they could make more money than a famous football player in Saudi Arabia.

"I find it quite weird that someone with a strong quirk like yours is not interested in them," Tamaki said.

"True, I have no interest," I replied, "But I'm curious. Do they fight?"

I'm a trader. My main goods were the DNA of these guys.

If there were fights in the sports festivals, there was a chance to pull a hair out of them and sell it. But on another thought, their quirks may not be that good anyway, and it may be better to spend the day training at home.

"In the last round and before it, sure," he replied. "Some people can get hurt. But the referee, who happens to be Midnight, has means to stop things before it gets dangerous." Tamaki closed his eyes and clenched his fists. "The only bad thing on TV is that they censor the scene."

Thinking of something funny, I whispered to his ear, "but if you're there, nothing can censor it."

"I already thought about it. You'll just lose consciousness," he replied. "The only lucky ones are the audience."

"Class, take your seat," Midnight entered through the door without anyone giving attention, causing everyone to cause havoc as they took their seats. The homeroom teacher stood in front of the board and started writing. I paid attention to that – not the writing, and nodded.

"Tomorrow you guys will be participating in the sports festivals. I don't really need to explain how it's a game-changer for your career and how much it's important to you," Midnight said, then she proceeded to answer the questions from the other students.

Placing my head on the table, I spent the time thinking if I should skip the event. I was weighing the profits I could make versus the progress I could make when training. I could always train another day, but I would be able to collect a lot of good DNA in the festival. Still. If I got stronger, then I could hunt more villains who had better genes than Stain.

"What are you thinking of?" asked a familiar feminine voice.

"If I should skip it or not," I replied. When I raised my head, I saw Midnight's face on mine, and she was giving me a forced smile.

She tapped her ear, she said with an unpleasant tone, "Sorry, didn't hear you well? You don't want to participate?"

Shrugging, I replied, "Can't see the point."

"Did you hear a word of what I was saying? You're wasting a chance to make a good appearance of yourself, and you'd make me look bad as a homeroom teacher," she said, seeming to take it personally.

Ears perking, I wondered if there was some gambling involved in the sports.

"I believe you said something about us making a good appearance, attracting agencies that will train us in the coming vacation, right."

"Right," she nodded, "where's your motivation then?"

Thinking of a funny comment, I replied, "Left it at home."

Her lips landing on my ear, she whispered, "By the way, did you hear the part where I offered a special reward for the one who gets into number one."

I didn't know if her lips grinding against my skin caused my erection, or if it was her gentle whispers.

She even caressed my thigh, giving me the hardest erection ever.

Anyone would be happy, but not me.

I had a principle. Don't trust two people. A rich guy who started as poor flashes money to motivate you to do something for them, and a woman flashing her beauty as well to get you to do something. In the end, you get nothing. That's why I didn't like it.

I knew that she was teasing me and I'd get nothing short of praise if I got the number one spot.

I thought of losing on purpose when I'm close to winning.

But winning or losing didn't matter anyway. I'd be there for DNA collecting.

"Okay," I said, jerking my head away from her lips as my skin got sensational.

Midnight smacked my back, giggled, and said, "That's my boy. You better work hard tomorrow." She then walked back to the board.

I spread my legs and looked at them. 'I have hard already, but no work.'
