2 Chapter 2

"So that's how it is..."

I muttered lowly as I drenched myself in the light of the sun. I feel it energizing me, giving me strength.

Not only that, but I also felt the burning feeling in my chest grow as I continue basking in the sun.

I focus on it with my eyes closed, trying to use it in some way.

After just a few seconds, I succeeded. The burning feeling slowly spread out of my chest and into my torso, then to my neck and head, and onto my limbs.

I opened my eyes and saw the veins in my hands and legs glowing. A quick look under my shirt was all I needed to know that its probably all over my whole body.

The burning sensation in myself made me feel like I was invincible. I feel like I wouldn't get tired no matter what I do. The feeling started to weaken, as well as the light in my veins but it was still there. It was weaker but it felt like it was getting replenished as I empower my body.

A quick look at the sun told me where I got the replenishment from.

'Okay... let's take stock.' I thought as I sat down on the ground of the playgroynd across from the orphanage. The other kids playing at the swings or the other contraptions around while being watch by the adults.

'So, after my anime moment yesterday, I manifested my Quirk. It seems to be the a combination of Emitter/Operative type and the sub-category of Accumulation.'

As the name suggests, Accumulation are Quirks that need something to be accumulated to function. Like mass, energy, stamina, or some other particular resource like fat.

'By absorbing sunlight, I can strengthen my self passively...'

As the sun slowly inched its way higher and higher into the sky, I felt my self becoming more powerful.

'And depending on the amount of, I'm guessing radation from the sun, I'm exposed to, the more the passive effect increase.'

Instead of strengthening myself, I focus on the burning feeling across my body back into my chest and I felt it responding quickly.

After a few seconds, the dim glow that started to shine brighter slowly faded like it wasn't there before. The burning feeling in my chest returned and started to become hotter by a tiny bit.

'Right... Now, instead of using the sunlight, I am now storing it...'

I tried to spread the burning feeling again around my body which happened faster this time around. My veins lit up again before dimming.

'Okay... Quick use of my stored sunlight equates to a quick boost. I'm guessing it doesn't last long is because I don't have much stored. So, technically if I store a lot then...'

I spent the next few minutes storing sunlight in my chest before I used it around my body.

This time, the boost lasted a bit longer and my veins dimmed again signaling that my stored sunlight is spent and I'm back to using what I'm accumulating.

However, instead of dimming down to a less noticeable glow, the fire in my veins retain some of their light.

'So I'm correct... My Quirk is a hybrid between Emitter and Accumulation based on sunlight. The stronger the sunlight, the stronger my accumulation. I can quickly use what I'm accumulating into a passive effect of strengthening without touching my stored energy so that's good... What else...'

I looked up at the sun in thought. What is the sun?

A middle schooler will tell you that its a giant ball of gas, just like every other star.

A high schooler will tell you that its made of the fourth state of matter. Plasma.

A quick search using the internet will tell you that its a perfect ball of hot plasma heated to the extreme by nuclear fusion reactions in its core.

So three levels. Gas, Plasma, then Nuclear Fusion that makes a shit load of energy that the Sun radiates as Light.

Gas...

'Ahhh... How could I forget about Sir Arthur Boyle, the Knight King...'

Arthur's power allows him to generate plasma by superheating his flames. 'But since I'm starting small, the sun is just a superheated ball of fire, isn't it?'

I streched my hand out, palms foward. I guided the burning feeling that constantly grew within myself into my shoulder and into my outstretched arm.

I didn't know if what I'm doing was possible but as soon as the burning feeling reached my palms, I felt something click in my mind.

My eyes burned with irridescient flames.

Small gouts of flames flowed out of my hands and into the air in front of me.

My eyes widen in excitement and shock, that turned into a short grimace as I heard gasps of shock, awe, and wonder of kids behind me, as well as the adult's just right behind them.

"Wow!!"

"Ohhhh- He just blasted out fire from his hands!!!"

"That's so cool-"

"Ahhhhh... I wish I had that Quirk so I can be like Endeavor!"

The children exclaimed as I turned towards them. I was originally irritated, if just a tiny bit, by getting caught and fawned over by kids but seeing the joy in their eyes calmed me down...

But the feeling came back stronger.

'Ugh... Just because I have a "cool" Quirk when previously they make fun of my lion ears and tail. Well, kids will be kids I guess.'

What fully brought my irritation back though was the slight jealousy and envy I see on some of the brats.

'This is going to be a hassle...'

"I heard you manifested your Quirk, my boy. It seems your previous doctor was wrong about your assessment." Said the slightly chubby female doctor in front of me. I responded with a small nod and her nodding back with a smile.

"Let's see here... Pyrokinesis, huh? A pretty good Quirk... Let's do some tests first so I can properly-"

So we did just that. She led me into a decently sized room and made me do some exercises, not the physical ones but related to my Quirk. I showed her my ability to generate flames and during the tests, I learned that with enough concentration, I could control fire. Not only the ones I generate, but flames in general.

I didn't show or give any hints, at least I hope so, of the real powers of my Quirk though. My Quirk was assigned into the Emitter/Accumulation categories, with me storing my body heat or just extra heat in my vicinity to produce and control flames.
