75 Chapter 75 - Mutant Gang

Lily spent an hour walking around the room, simply listening— hearing what everyone had to say. They were rather rowdy— sitting around the room, they engaged in a conversation with each other, some soft, some loud, and some even aggressive.

It was clear right away that these people were not usually used to being together— some of them got along just fine, but others, not so much.

It kept the hour interesting, at least— from listening to everybody's conversations for over an hour, Lily had an idea about what this group was about and why they were there.

It was some sort of underground revolutionary group, so to speak— to be honest, calling it a revolutionary group would be generous, but that is what they would want to be called.

In reality, Lily believed it was more like a gang from what she was listening to, the things they had done and planned to do, but they believed themselves to be a revolutionary group.

What they were trying to revolutionize was one of the key factors of their conversations— it often led to arguments amongst the group, but from what she could pick out, they wanted to revolutionize everything.

What Lily could piece together from listening to the people speak in the group was that she learned that this group was primarily made out of mutants and people who sympathized with mutants— family members, friends, and the like.

Some Inhumans were also in the group but blended in without being seen, pretending to be mutants as well. The only reason she could tell was because she could read their surface thoughts and emotions, some of them feeling guilty from their act.

The purpose of the group was simple; it was much like any other mutant revolutionary group that believed that mutants deserved to live alongside humans just as freely as humans do

The only difference between this group and other normal revolutionary mutant groups such as the X-Men or Underground would be that this group believed in more aggressive means of getting that freedom, much like The Brotherhood.

They believed that you were owed freedom, and they would take it through force if they were not giving it.

This is why most of them were armed and why they also openly robbed people— at least, they robbed people they believed deserved to be robbed. People that showed dislike or hate towards mutants.

Apparently, the woman before was one of such people— but Lily didn't know if that was true— nor cared.

While Lily could understand the reasoning behind their group and actions— she can even sympathize with them to an extent— overall, they had to do what they needed to do in order to survive.

But that did not make them right, it didn't make them wrong, it didn't make them righteous— nor did it make their cause grand.

They did not want a revolution— they wanted a conquest; they— wanted to rule.

It just gave Lily all the more reason to eat them.

And how could she overlook such a large collection of mutants and Inhumans— she did not blame them for their actions— so they can't blame her for hers.

Regardless, after about an hour or half of waiting and listening to the conversation they had— she came to a few conclusions that would be useful for her to remember.

Firstly, this was not their only base of operation. The group seemed to be much bigger than she first thought it was— these few dozen people here were simply one branch of the group. They had branches throughout Saudi Arabia and other branches here in Bahrain.

She couldn't learn how many branches they had here or in general because not even the people here seemed to know it— but she did order her scouts to search throughout Bahrain for them.

Secondly, this group had two main leaders. She did not learn their names, but she did learn what they were called; one was referred to as something that roughly translated to 'Night Demon' while the other was referred to as 'The Guardian.'

From what she could tell, 'Night Demon' was the most active leader of the group; he— yes, she found out that they were a male— often led the group in planning and executing attacks and deals.

'The Guardian' was much more reclusive, and none of the people here had ever seen them before— in fact, they didn't even know the gender of the person. Many just assumed they were a male.

Aside from these people, there were a few others mentioned that could prove to be interesting to Lily, but she couldn't get more information from them— and the conversations were getting boring.

She decided she no longer had any need to hide and listen to their conversations— she would ask them outright.

She revealed herself from her camouflage— but she didn't simply return to the form she had been using before; no, she reverted to her original form.

Her long snow-white hair flowed behind her, stretching down to her waist with its unkept length. Her face reverted back to how it had originally been when she had awakened, only this time, it was somewhat more mature and refined.

Her jawline was sharper, perfectly complementing her mature look and adding a more aggressive and dangerous feeling, while her small nose delicately decorated her face.

Her crimson eyes revealed themselves as she peered into the crowd of people— red eyes surrounded by pure darkness— giving her gaze a bone-chilling feeling behind it.

Her height was taller than it was before; she was now roughly 5'9 in height— may be slightly shorter, but there was no harm in rounding something so minimal up.

This allowed her to look closer to her actual age— and definitely aided her in being taken more seriously.

One thing that changed about her true form that she didn't have the chance to see before due to having taken on an altered form to hide— her ears and head.

Her ears had grown slightly pointer, longer even. It was similar to that of how elves had them in games, but shorter, and rather than pointing up, it simply pointed back.

She attributed this to her Vampire DNA— it was something some Vampires tend to have, and it was natural that her body would adopt some features that she didn't mind keeping.

As for her head— small stumps could be seen forming at the right and left side of her frontal lobe. Horns, most likely from the Demonic DNA she acquired, were only stumps for now due to how little it was.

While impressed and pleased with the changes her body had undergone— she didn't have time to appreciate that just yet, as she was currently in the middle of a group of armed mutants and people.

"Let's have a little conversation, shall we?"

As she spoke, she gave the group a friendly smile— but they just grabbed their weapons and panicked into an alert position.
