Chapter 199

“You can’t leave me here all by myself in the night carrying your babies and you come back here to tell me that we’ve passed that”

“And I said I’m sorry, it will never happen again”

“But where did you spend the night?”. She keep asking and Paul keep refusing to tell her.

“Honey please just forget about it, I'm begging you please let this pass. It will never repeat itself.” he got up and went to her almost kneeling trying to make her happy, trying to make her smile but she refuse.

“Ok tell me, what should I do for you, I will do anything for you to forgive me” Paul keeps begging and begging without results, what Paul don’t know is that Christy needs him, but she didn’t know how to put it.

“I don't need anything from you, all I want is to know where you spend the night and if you don't tell me you're not leaving this house”.

“Why are you being difficult Christy?” he brought out his phone to call his mum.

“Hello Paul how are you and how is Christy?”

“Well mum I'm fine, but I don't know about Christy”

“What happened?”

“She is just being difficult mum, I've tried all my best to make her forgive me. I did a little wrong to her and she refused to forgive me”.

“Where is she?”

“She's here mum, she's listening to me”

“Give her the phone” and Paul hand Christy the phone. She took it and told her mother-in-law that she shouldn’t mind Paul, that they didn't have any problems.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes mum, I'm very sure”.

“Ok give Paul the phone”. She hand the phone back to Paul and his mother told him to go away from where Christy is that she wants to tell him something and Paul move away.

“Paul don't you know she's pregnant?”

“I know mum”

“So you don’t know how to hold a pregnant woman.”

“Mum how?, like I've been trying to please her, I've been trying all my best to make her forgive me but she is just proving stubborn”

“Don't you know that when a woman is pregnant she need her man always with her?”

“ I don't get you mum because I'm always with her”.

“Have you touched her?”

“Mum” Paul called taking away the phone from his ear and looking at the screen as if he is going to see his mum through the screen

“like touch her how?”

 “Paul don’t be stupid, you know what I'm talking about, she needs you and she don't know how to express it”

“Are you sure?” Paul ask because the Christy he is seeing right now don’t look to him as someone who need to be touched.

 “I am very sure so go and do the needful his mother said and hang up.

Paul keeps looking at the phone and wondering if it was his mum talking from the other end.

He walked slowly to Christy and sat down beside her, he try placing his hand on her laps but she didn’t refuse.

“Maybe this is it” Paul thought.
