Chapter 175
Ben took her home.
“Please I need hot tea” she told him, and Ben was all over the kitchen searching for where he could get the tea.
Within a minute he brought it to Sharon, she drank it and felt ok.
Sharon sat up and look at him, her eyes are all faint.
“ Sharon you are not feeling fine, should I take you back to the hospital?”
“No.. no.. no, don't worry it's just something that happened after… whenever I.. I.. operate on someone, I… I… I… normally smoke and drink but because I didn't want you to see me like this, I took that soft drink.”
“What!, that is so terrible”
“Yes”
“So what are you going to do?”
“ I don't know, I don't know if I can be able to stop smoking and drinking”
“Of course, you can but you don't need to just stop almost immediately” Ben said looking at her.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I'm sure but you just have to make sure that you're working on stopping”
“Yeah, thank you. So can I smoke a stick?” Sharon ask Ben.
“Sure where is it?, let me get it for you”. She pointed at her cupboard and Ben got the cigarette for her, she smoke one stick and drop it. Normally she smoke up to five to ten sticks but because of Ben she managed to smoke just one.
“Are you okay now?”. she nods, placing her head on Ben’s laps.
Ben keep wondering if the smoking and drinking is not responsible for Sharon's childlessness but he didn’t want to conclude he still have some slight hope that maybe, just maybe she can still give birth and he promised to stay by her side no matter what.
“Sharon can I ask you question?”
“Yes you can ask me anything” she said as she place her head on Ben’s legs while he stroke her hair.
“Do you use to smoke when you were with Patrick?”
“Sometimes”
“Did he know?”
“No, because I always hide to smoke.”
“I see, so what if he has caught you smoking what do you think he would have done to you?”
“I don't know but I always smoke when he’s not around.”
“So who is the other guy that I saw you with”
“You mean Paul?”
“Yes, that one look reasonable”
“Yeah, he’s a good guy, he is my friend before Patrick, in fact he was my first husband”
“What!, Ben keep wondering why she has to be going in circles.
“You mean the other guy was your first husband and then his friend is your second husband?”
“Yeah it was complicated though we started when we were young , so I guess Patrick married me out of pity because Paul rejected me but I don't blame him. He was in love with someone else but my mum… she's the one that pushes me to get married to Paul not because Paul wanted to marry me so we end up getting a divorce while he end up with the woman he loves”.
