Diya postponed deciding on that topic as long as she could. Knowing Ajay's decision didn't help her at all. If anything it only pressured her. He helped her whenever she was in the low. He saved her multiple times. If she listens to her fears wouldn't it hurt him?
But if she accepts the proposal just because of him then what if something goes wrong because of her in the future? Diya felt like pulling her hair. She didn't want to go through this torture anymore. Moreover, she was having a hard time dealing with her job because of the stress. But being with her kids helps her forget everything temporarily.
It was 7 in the evening. Diya desperately wanted to divert her focus so she decided to cook something. She had been turning to cooking each time she need to escape from the thoughts that she felt like she'll be a professional cook in no time.
She was in the middle of cooking when she heard her phone ringing. She turned off the stove and run to the dining table. The phone screen showed Veer's name.
"Yes, Veer?". "Sister-in-law, please come faster. Brother was in an accident. The doctors are saying that it's hard fo.....". Veer's scared voice slowly faded in Diya's ears. She couldn't hear anything properly after the word 'accident'.
Diya didn't know how she even got in the car. She passed the phone to the chauffeur so he can ask for the hospital's name. She had her eyes closed for the whole ride; tapping her feet anxiously. At that moment, Diya's mind was clear. The answer she'd been searching for flashed through her mind.
'Please be fine, Ajay. So I can give you the answer you wanted.'. Diya ran to the reception. "Ajay," she said panting. "Tenth floor, first room on your right ma'am.". Veer and Karl were on their way out of the general store when they saw Diya running past them to the elevator.
They almost screamed when Diya was almost crushed by the closing elevator. "You know that boss will kill you if he comes to know about this, right?".
Veer waved his hand at Karl. "I just want them to reconcile. I don't mind risking my head for it. You know how they've been ignoring each other since their beach date, right?". Karl nodded his head hesitantly. He wanted the same thing as Veer too but he wasn't so sure about risking his head.
Diya was not at all shaken by the gasps she heard when she entered the almost closing elevator. She pressed the button for the tenth floor as if nothing happened. The only thought she had in her mind was Ajay. The elevator opened on the VIP floor.
Diya dashed out and opened the first room's door without thinking. She looked at the bed before her and was confused.
Ajay looked at Diya heavily panting and was worried. He climbed down from the bed and limped towards her. "Diya, are you okay? What happe-". He was interrupted when Diya launched at him. He managed to stand after stumbling back; hugging her back.
"Careful. You'll get hurt.". "Silly. It's you who's hurt." Diya chuckled. "I love you, Ajay.". Ajay was taken aback to hear that. 'Is it some kind of side effect of the accident?', he thought. "Wh... what?". Diya broke the hug and looked at him. "I love you, Ajay. I'm still hesitant when it comes to love. But I'm going to risk everything for you.".
