In Love With The Billionaire

A figure dashed out from the study the very next moment. ~ Ajay had no time to think about women as he was busy building an empire after his father's death. Chapter 10

Ajay nodded. He didn't find it appropriate to ask about her family problems when it was only the second time they have met. "Cheer up," he said; smiling at her.

Diya was got off guard by that smile, again. 'How could this man look this handsome when smiling? How annoying.'. She turned around at lightning speed when Ajay waved his hands in front of her. By that time, her cheeks have turned red with embarrassment.

Diya cupped her cheeks and said in a low voice, "Th-thank you.".

Both of them remained silent after that. Strangely, Diya felt very comfortable at that moment despite the embarrassment. Even if it was for only a few minutes, she forgot about everything and enjoyed the peaceful night.

"*Sigh* I'd like to spend more time with you but it's getting late," Diya said getting up. "It was nice to meet you again Mr. Ajay.". Ajay stood up and shook her extended hand. He felt like jumping up and down when he heard her say that.

"The feeling's mutual miss...". "Diya." Diya finished.

"Diya." It was the first time Ajay felt happy to know a woman's name. "Look at your silly smile. I might throw up." Karl said to the man beside him who had been staring in the direction the woman went; imitating a vomiting gesture. Ajay glared at him and started walking toward his car.

Karl smiled; looking at his retreating back. Although Karl was his subordinate, he was also his friend since they were 15. Karl glued himself to Ajay after the day he saved him from their school bullies. When everyone treated him badly just because he was an orphan, Ajay didn't care about his background.

Karl knew that being cold is just Ajay's facade to prevent himself from hurting himself. Ajay was one of the warmest people he knew. Ajay used to smile and joke around. But after his father killed himself because of his gambling debts and left him and his brother to fend for themself, Ajay couldn't be that carefree child anymore.

But seeing these current changes in him made Karl happy. If everything works out nicely, he should thank that woman.

"Boss, wait. See this photo I took of you both just now. Haha. Look at you! You look like a fool." Karl laughed; showing the photo to Ajay.

Ajay stopped walking and focused on the photo. Karl was expecting him to demand to delete the photo but the reply he received shocked him. "Send me.". Karl couldn't believe his ears. "Wh-what?". "Faster," saying that Ajay started walking again.

Karl let out a bewildered laugh and hurried after him. 'My boy's in love.'

Diya had finished her night routine and was lying on the bed when Ravi's call came through. They added Kaia and started talking about their day.

"My boss treated us to a 'team dinner' just now. He didn't let us pay a single penny." Kaia was complimenting her boss for the whole conversation. Ravi shared about his date with his girlfriend. But Diya couldn't keep up with the peacefulness when it was her turn to share about her day.
