Chapter 29

Sylvia mood immediately turned sour, she didn't know what to think anymore

as if reading her thoughts again, Jane immediately interjected, "oh okay I will just have to wait, I really can't wait to get over with the interview" she said aloud making sure Sylvia heard her

upon hearing that, Sylvia felt relieved again and she couldn't help but smile and feel warm inside, this Jane girl is really sweet, she thought to herself, ' am sure she did that for me ' she thought again

Zain felt a little bit puzzled, he felt something was amiss but he couldn't place it, Jane had never acted this way but he decided not to pry any further, "here have this" he handed her some papers "what are these for?" Jane asked "these are likely some questions you will asked at the interview just study them so you will do better" Zain replied her "oh thank you very much" Jane said "it's no big deal, now get going the waiting is by the left side, just walk down a bit, you shouldn't miss it" Zain said, even though he didn't want her to go, he would have really preferred to have by his side every minute, but however he had no choice

Jane took the documents from him and headed for the waiting room, she was able to locate it without any stress, she sat down and began to study the write up, they were mostly questions and answers, probably the questions she would be asked and the answers she is supposed to give she concluded, thank God the orphanage had given them some academic knowledge, she wouldn't have been a able to read this right now, even though some words were complex and she couldn't understand, she still understood most of them

After what seems like forever, it was finally eleven am, Jane had been monitoring the clock for almost thirty minutes, she was done with the paper Zain had given her and she was expecting Zain to come out by now, but he was nowhere to be found

Zain came out fourteen minutes after eleven, she spotted him from afar and she must admit, he does look really handsome, no wonder Mrs Whitney is trying to matchmake them together, and no wonder Sylvia really liked him, she couldn't help but admire his physicue, he looked really handsome like those guys on TV and magazines

Jane quickly snapped out of her fantasy even though she admired his good looks and kind behaviours towards her, no matter how much she really thinks about it, she really doesn't feel anything for Zain, he's nothing but a neighbor to her, and maybe one day, just one day they might become close friends

Zain walked up to Jane and saw that she was lost in thought, he also took the chance to admire her a bit, she was still looking beautiful as she was this morning, even though she was not wearing much make up and the clothes he bought her wasn't as expensive as he would have loved to but for her, she still looked effortlessly classy and beautiful in them, only God knows how beautiful she would look like if she applied more effort

Zain sighed silently as if having enough of her, he tapped her shoulders and brought her back to reality, "hey Jane it's time to go" Zain said, "oh yeah, let's go, thanks"

They both stepped out of the company and headed towards the parking lot, Zain led the way, they got to his car and he opened the door for her, she got in and fastened her seat belt, Zain had shown her how to do it earlier

Zain got into the car and wanted to help her with her seat belt but realized that she had done it but herself "oh you are such a fast learner" he complimented, Jane already know what he meant felt a little bit proud of herself "thank you" she replied. Zain fastened his seat belt and drove off

the drive to the Smith's mansion was a fast one, they got there in less than thirty minutes, Zain stopped in front of the house and looked at Jane, he knows she must feeling so anxious, he felt the same way he was going for his interview at the Smith's corporation

"don't worry you will do just fine, I believe in you" Zain said as he took her hand and squeezed it trying to comfort her, he really didn't mean to do that but he just couldn't stop himself, and without thinking much, he slammed his lips on her, it tasted like heaven, even though she wasn't responding to him, he still couldn't stop himself, he tried to part her lips with his tongue teasingly, but it still wasn't working, she wasn't giving in

Jane froze for a while, what the hell was happening, she couldn't bring herself to believe that Zain was actually kissing her, she suddenly felt anger boiling inside her, ' how dare he take advantage of me like this, is this the reason for always being so kind to me? ' she thought to herself as well

without thinking much too Jane pulled him off her and gave him a slap, "how dare you" she screamed at him, seeing how furious she was Zain quickly came back to his senses, ' what in the world have I done ' Zain thought to himself, here he was trying to get closer to her, but thanks to his dumb brain and hormones he has succeeded in driving her further away

"oh Jane please forgive me, am really sorry, I really didn't mean to do that, I don't know what came over me, please forgive me

as if oblivious to his words, Jane was so angry that she felt head was going to burst open, if not that she really needed this work to provide for her son, she would have just gone home, she doesn't want any favours from him, she opened the car door, got out, and slammed it back

Zain seeing her expression and action quickly stepped out and ran after her "Jane please wait up, am really sorry" he called out after her, after calling her like three times, Jane finally stopped and looked back at him

"thanks for the ride,I really appreciate it but please don't wait for me, I will find my way back home" she said and stormed off angrily
