Chapter 22

Tasha can't remember Sylvia having any family problems, she must have lied, Tasha saw the concern on his face and somehow felt that Zain likes her, "what did you guys talk about in the cafeteria?" "what has that got to do with what am asking you?" Zain asked her "just answer me, maybe you said or did something that upset her, I don't know of any family problems, am sure she lied" Tasha replied him "she did, but why would she?" Zain asked, he was utterly confused right now, he didn't know what was going on anymore "just answer me, I have things to do you know, you are delaying me out here, just tell me what you said to her, and I mean everything" Tasha said crossing her hands on her chest

"uhhmmm okay, we didn't really say anything important, but I told her about the reason why I went to see the vice president this morning" Zain was explaining "you went to see the vice president this morning, did you get fired?" Tasha asked with horror written all over her face, maybe Zain got fired and that was why she was sad

"no I didn't get fired, as I was saying" Zain continued "then why did you go to see the vice president?" Tasha cut him off again "are we not supposed to be talking about Sylvia here, why are you being so nosy" Zain said, and he can't seem to hide the irritation on his face or in his voice "what me? nosy, I just wanted to know what happened, am only looking out for my friend" she defended ' what a sly, how can he talk to a lady like that ' she thought in her head "you can continue" she added

Zain cleared his throat and continued, "well then I told her and she just dashed out of the cafeteria and she didn't come back until now" Zain said "that's all?" Tasha asked, she was really confused right now "of course that's all, what else?" "look here am really trying to help you here and am also worried for, have never seen her like that, you really need to tell me what you said to her, the exact words" Tasha asked again

Zain really doesn't understand why what he said has anything to do with why Sylvia was sad, but he really wanted to get to the bottom of this, he didn't have any choice but to answer this annoying and nosy girl "okay I merely explained the reason why I went to see the vice president" Zain said "which is?" Tasha asked, she was really getting impatient, Zain looked at with his brow twitched up, he wishes he could just strangle this girl right now, she really won't back down, will she? he thought, now everyone's going to know why he went to see the vice president, he cleared this throat again before answering her "I went to see the vice president to help a friend to get a job here in the company" Tasha wanted to ask him why he didn't go through the normal process instead of going to see the vice president but she didn't have time for gossip right now, she would ask another day

"okay this friend of yours, is it a girl or a boy?"

"she's a girl" Zain answered " a girl, you mean your girlfriend?" Tasha asked "no she's just a girl I love but nothing is going on yet" Zain replied her, he really didn't mean to say that last part, but he honestly wanted to shout to the world and tell them how much he loved her

"wait, what, a girl you love?" Tasha asked she was almost panicking, that must be why Sylvia was so sad "wait a minute, did you tell her that?" she added "tell her what?" he had answered all her foolish questions, what was she still asking him again, he really doesn't understand this girl, who employed her in the first place, the people in charge must have their brains upside down the day she came for an interview

"did you tell her you love the girl?" Tasha asked "yes I told her, she asked" Zain replied

"oh no you dummy, why would you tell her such" Tasha asked she was already furious, this guy is such an idiot, "and what's wrong with that?" "you are so foolish and blind, you really can't tell me that you haven't noticed that Sylvia likes you" Tasha interjected

"wait what, Sylvia likes me?" Zain asked "yes you dummy, she really has feelings for you, how can you go on and tell her, you are in love with someone else, how did you expect her to react? Sylvia replied him and stormed back into the office

she really needs to close from work early today to see Sylvia and make sure her friend was okay, she got back to work and got busy again

Zain was dumbfounded, he didn't know what to say or how to react this piece of news he just heard, ' Sylvia likes me? ' he kept repeating the same question in his head, he honestly didn't know what to think or do, that must be why she was really sad and disoriented, he felt so bad, he hadn't mean to hurt her feeling that way, he would speak to her tomorrow and probably apologize

Zain got back to work, even though he wasn't really concentrating, he tried his best to finish as much report has he could, he needed to submit them today but he couldn't, he hopes he wouldn't get queried, it's time to go home and cat still hasn't gotten back to him, his face suddenly fell, a lot of bad things were happening to him today, he packed his things and headed downstairs

Zain got to the parking lot and opened his car, but before he could get in, cat voice called out to him, "hey Zain wait up" Zain turned back and saw that it was cat, he really hopes she has good news for him cause he really needs a dose of it right now
