In a daze, Su Pan'er slowly opened her eyes.

It was dark all around, except for a tiny bean-sized light that twinkled faintly.

Blurry from drink, her eyes struggled to focus on the tiny light, causing her to become dizzy. Alongside that feeling, her entire body began to float, swaying with the breeze. It felt as light as a single, weightless feather.

"It seems I'm really drunk, and not just a little."

She couldn't help but laugh, instinctively reaching for the dot of light, but grabbed nothing. Leaning forward, she tumbled towards it.

"Be careful!"

A deep, masculine voice echoed in her ears.

Su Pan'er squinted, trying to make out her surroundings, only to be dazzled by a blinding bright red.

Her feet gave out, and she fell into a warm embrace.

A hot breath grazed the nape of her neck, causing her body to shudder instinctively. She shrank back, twisting her neck in resistance.

"Tickles..."

She tried to push back the source of the warmth, but her hands felt unusually weak. She couldn't muster any strength.

"Behave, don't move!"

The voice echoed again, carrying an indescribable hint of ambiguity.

It seemed like her clothes were also being peeled away by those large hands, and as her skin came into contact with the air, a chill ran through her body.

Before her foggy brain could comprehend what was happening, the stranger pressed closer.

"Feels so good..."

Her body boiled with a comforting warmth. Unconsciously, she writhed, trying to draw closer to the comforting figure.

The figure was slim, with wheat-colored skin and a long scar etched on a bare chest, yet carried an air of nobility. This figure presented an alluring beauty that was even more attractive than the models in magazines.

It felt like her face was on fire, her eyes fixed and unblinking on the attractive sight.

"So beautiful. What a pity..."

Su Pan'er heaved a content sigh. She always had an affinity for beautiful things.

When she was a child, she was famously headstrong, the difficult child in elders' mouths. She was always involved in arguments, fights, and brawls. As an adult, she would roam around with a group of brothers in her free time, earning her a great number of close male friends. They all treated her as a good friend, completely forgetting that she was also a woman, in need of gentleness and care.

This attractive man before her was treating her so gently, a kindness she could only dream of.

He seemed to say something, but before she could make sense of it, a sharp pain erupted from a secret spot within her.

"Ah! That hurts..."

How could a spring dream feel so painfully real?

Cold sweat poured out in an instant, she didn't care whether this was all a dream and struggled with all her might.

But he was quicker, grabbing hold of her foot and pulling it in one swift pull.

"Good girl! Stay still! It will be over in a second."

Su Pan'er blinked furiously, then again. Gradually, her surroundings came into focus.

Bastard!

How dare he take advantage of her! What audacity!

She lifted her foot and kicked at the figure!

Taken by surprise, he tumbled straight off the bed.

She hastily tugged at the cover, wrapping it around her naked body. She examined her surroundings with a shocked expression.

An old, crumbling, and dark adobe house. On the low window lattice hung a large red "Joy" character. A table nested beside the window with a pair of large red wedding candles lit atop it.

And she lay on a wedding quilt embroidered with mandarin ducks; a naked man on the floor.

She was momentarily taken aback.

Wasn't she going to the wedding of the man she was secretly in love with for years, helping herself to a few drinks to drown her sorrows?

Su Pan'er swept the room quickly with her eyes. Where was this place? How did she end up here, and...

The more she thought, the angrier she became, her eyes glaring venomously at the man on the ground.

The man she had knocked to the ground was gaping in surprise, but eventually came to his senses after her fierce stare.

"What's wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell? You...cough cough..."

It seemed like he wanted to say something, but ended up in a violent coughing fit before he could speak.

"Stop pretending. Get lost! If you dare take advantage of me again, believe me, I'll kill you right here and now!"

Su Pan'er threatened in a high pitched voice!

The man was left speechless, seeing the defensive posture of Su Pan'er like a prickly hedgehog, he moved his lips a few times but said nothing in the end, propping up his frail body, he picked up his trousers from the floor to put them on.

Su Pan'er sighed in relief, watching the clothing in his hands, her vigilant expression didn't relax in the slightest.

Her guard made the man hesitate a moment, and then he gave a small smile.

"Don't be scared, this is our home now. You can live here in peace from now on, just speak up if you need something."

Home?

She didn't have a home anymore!

The word 'home' seemed to stimulate her, causing a bit of confusion in Su Pan'er's eyes.

"Who are you?"

The man's face stiffened a bit, he hesitated before looking at her, "What is it? Don't you remember?"

Remember what? Was she supposed to remember something?

A look of sadness crossed the man's eyes, and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly, "You're my wife."

His words were like the key to Pandora's box, unlocking pieces of a past that wasn't hers, appearing like scenes from a film in Su Pan'er's mind.

Turns out this original body was also named Su Pan'er. She was simple-minded, dark-skinned and strong, and could eat a lot. While being honest and hardworking, she had not had an easy life at all. She only remembered that this marriage was originally supposed to be her cousin's, but for some reason, it ended up being hers.

Su Pan'er frowned. The fragments of memory left by the original body were too hard to piece together. It seemed that after the ceremonial exchange of marriage cups, she fell into a fuzzy sleep, and when she woke up she had become who she was now.

Su Pan'er lamented inwardly. She had traveled through time! This was so cliché!

Above that, as soon as she crossed over, she was in the middle of her wedding night. How intense!

"Hey, bridegroom, wait a minute, I'm not your wife!"

Su Pan'er hurriedly corrected him.

What a joke! How could she be forced to marry against her will like this? What was happening?

"Don't call me bridegroom, it feels weird. Just call me Qin Yi or Yi."

Yi?

Was she that familiar with him?

Su Pan'er slanted her mouth, "You're dreaming! I don't care about who you are. If you try anything funny tonight, don't blame me for not having precise aim." While speaking, she gifted him by sending a couple of 'almonds' his way.

You said not to cause trouble? Well, should he or shouldn't he?

The man raised his eyebrows and coughed lightly, moved closer and teased intentionally, "Wife, did you get the wrong idea? Tonight is our wedding night."

Sensing the satisfaction in the man's gaze, Su Pan'er struggled to break free.

"Let me go! Release me now, or I'm going to start screaming!"

"No one will come even if you scream your throat out."

The man turned into a wolf and smirked cheekily, "You're in the wolf's den now, where do you think you can run to? Stop messing around, wife!"

Lights out, and she's pinned!
