I Think You're Forgetting Something

The two of them sat there on the rock for another ten minutes or so like that until Eden reluctantly conceded they should get moving if they wanted to finish this hike before dinnertime. She packed up the remainder of the food in her backpack and took a long swig of water before hopping off the rock. 

Jonah joined her a moment later and seemed confused when she looked at him expectantly. "What?"

She held out her hand and decided to tease him. "You haven't even been my boyfriend for fifteen minutes and you already don't want to hold my hand?"

"Oh. Sorry, I didn't realize you wanted me to. I've never done this before so if you want something, you might have to tell me rather than wait for me to take the hint."

Eden laughed at how serious he was being. "Relax, I was messing with you. But it's fairly reasonable to assume that if we're walking together, I'll want you to hold my hand. I do enjoy having my hand held."
