Simon felt the sting from the dart of the Honta. He had been a bit too careless. Simon even had the thought that he wasn't suited to be this cool in a fight.

Simon immediately threw the dart on the ground before jerking his right hand. He turned around to see the Honta that had attacked him, which soon died on the onslaught of the attacks from 10 invisible puppets.

Simon started to feel a bit dizzy.

His body tumbled a bit. The others who saw this weren't able to react to this properly as the development was too fast.

Simon felt like he would fall any moment but that's when he immediately forced his left arm to get a pen out of his pocket.

Simon wrote 'Poison get expelled' in very questionable handwriting, one that was very different from his usual beautiful handwriting.

Simon's tumbling stopped as a very sharp pain rushed into his mind. He knew well enough how much it would hurt if he used his powers...

But, Simon was ready to bet that there was a less chance of him dying to his own power than to the unknown poison of a Monster.

Slowly, Simon felt some liquid dripping out of the small hole that the dart had made. At the same time, The sharp pain became more intense.

Simon was about to scream his lungs out when the pain suddenly stopped. Not just the pain, but the dizziness and every other weird effect on him went away.

Simon regained his posture and blinked a few times.

He blankly stared at the sky like an idiot while occasionally blinking. If anybody saw his face, they would say that Simon had the most surprised expression they had ever seen.

-Shiny human, You were hit by the dart?!

Suddenly the black dragon spoke in Simon's mind, snapping him back to reality.

If Simon wasn't shocked, he would question what was up with that nickname but it seemed like this moment of accidental acceptance made his nickname permanent for the black dragon.

"What happened?"

Hilsman was the first to speak. Actually, he spoke right after the black dragon spoke in Simon's mind.

Sigh

Simon let out a sigh, a very rare thing. He shook his head a few times at least a few times. Then looked at his hand,

Clean...

the liquid that Simon had felt was not there anymore. The small mark made by the dart was also gone, his hand was back to its usual clean and smooth form.

Simon, who had major wtf feelings sighed again. He felt like he was drunk, despite knowing he couldn't get drunk.

"What happened to you?"

This time Cale was the one to ask and Simon responded very fast, which slightly hurt the heart of our Vice-captain, Hilsman...

"I... I don't know but it could have been the effect of me drinking before entering here."

"..."

Simon wasn't lying as he was drinking while waiting for the others to do their things. Well, It was a pretty long wait so Simon was drinking a lot.

Of course, This was a lie since he himself wanted to know what just happened. After another moment of silence, the black dragon spoke up.

-Wait, why are you lying? Didn't you get hit by the dart?

Simon heard the black dragon's voice inside his head and looked at the black dragon floating beside Cale.

Simon stared at him for a while and shook his head. He wanted to be able to respond but as he was not a mage, Telepathy was impossible.

"It's nothing serious. It's probably all Mik-" (Can anyone guess what the sentence would end at? *points at the most overused meme at the time* )

Before Simon could finish his very very unpredictable sentence, The group noticed more monsters nearby.

This time Simon stayed back and began his favorite job,

Brainstorming.

While Simon was using his brain cells to their fullest capacity, Cale decided to still test his powers out.

The group kept moving while some monsters occasionally disturbed their journey. In the end, all of them were subjected to the attacks from the kittens while their attacks were blocked by Cale's shield.

Cale didn't fight all the time though. He didn't need to push himself much.

Just like this, two days passed, Simon kept brainstorming but couldn't think about a reasonable explanation as to what had happened.

It was a large mystery to him.

"Put this mask on before we go any further."

Cale's sudden voice snapped back Simon who was in a trance while thinking. Seemed like Cale had walked up to him without even him noticing.

"What the hell are you even thinking about?"

"...Nothing much."

Cale had an expression that seemed to say 'You expect me to believe that?'. To which Simon sighed and responded very calmly.

"In that battle yesterday, I am sure you noticed something."

Cale nodded at Simon's words. He didn't know what exactly but he knew something had happened. Nobody believed Simon yesterday...there was a chance that Hilsman did but it wasn't the concern of anybody.

Witira and Paseton didn't intervene as they deemed it was Simon's business and he wanted them out of it.

The kittens didn't do anything after seeing that Cale didn't do anything.

The black dragon was about to do something but was distracted by Cale, who pretty much made sure that nobody asked Simon.

Cale knew that it must be something grave if Simon hid it from everybody. Still, Cale needed to know what Simon was hiding.

Simon, who probably understood Cale the most, knew what Cale was referring to.

"...Sometimes Your behavior makes me jealous."

"Hmm?"

"You know how to make people talk."

"I shall take that as a compliment but tell me what happened."

After the small talk, Simon decided to reveal the information a bit.

...

"So, you are saying ...you have been thinking about how your powers work this whole time?"

"Yes"

Simon was already experienced at lying. He showed absolutely no signs of nervousness when lying. It was hard for him to do it in front of Cale but It didn't matter much.

Simon's power had been something that caught his interest. Now that he had gotten a clue on what this would be, He would get the truth no matter what.

It was because, As a great detective once said...

'There is only one truth!'

Simon pushed up his imaginary round glasses and shook his head before wearing the mask with a smile.

The exciting part about this whole journey was about to begin.

"Human, I smell the familiar scent."

"It's probably some dead plants nearby."

Cale brushed the scent off as it wasn't dangerous.

"Young Master Cale, is it our turn now?"

Cale smirked a bit at Witira's question. He gave her the signal to begin.

Witira, as the ruler of the ocean, wasn't a patient one. She walked up while caressing her whip.

Scrreeech

KiEeeeeeeeK

Screeches and Monster noises entered the ears of the group. It was the sound of the monsters belonging to the inner regions.

Flick

Witira flicked her whip and the dangerous sound of the creatures stopped abruptly. Simon could see a large crater where Witira's whip landed.

"Shall we hurry up?"

"Looks like we will have to."

Cale responded with a smile that made him seem like a really mysterious guy which looked pretty cool. Not going to lie.

"We need to return fast."

This time Simon was the one that spoke. He missed his comfy bed and long periods of sleep. The group only slept for 3 hours while being in the forest So Simon didn't like this place much.

Mutant ogres, mutant trolls, spider-like monsters from the Eastern Continent, and even high-level monsters appeared. The number of monsters here was definitely high.

Of course, it didn't stop them for long.

Witira and Paseton stepped forward. With this, you could say that the monsters didn't stand a chance. But you have to commend them on not running away.

Maybe the not running away part was because they were too stupid to do it but It didn't matter much.

The group walked through the forest a bit and then saw a pond-

er, no a swamp.

"This is the beginning of that swamp."

A rotting stench entered the nose of the people present there. But nobody reacted to it as they were currently focused on seeing the swamp.

A massive swamp. Massive might be a slight understatement.

Paseton was surprised as to how they couldn't see this swamp before. This just showed how the trees there were.

Witira let out her admiration. She then gulped looking at the swamp area. Cale understood why she would have such a reaction.

This place was far beyond their imagination.

All of the plants were either black or brown, yet they were not dying, and instead, they were extremely vibrant.

Simon, who had every detail of this pond from the novel wasn't fazed much so he focused more. Seeing this place here was really nice but the smell was a bit beyond his expectation.

"It must be because of the poison."

Cale nodded before tightening the lace in his map. The others also did the same.

(Author: The novel readers know what happens here. Read from chapter 62 if you want to remember it that bad... it sucks that I didn't write the part Cale got the AP but I am too lazy to do it for now. Imagine Simon going simp inside his heart when he saw the moment...also Raon destroying this swamp was awesome)

...

*Four days later*

Simon reached his new room in the Henituse Estate. He wasn't returning to the Smith's. Simon looked around the room.

'Fancy as always.'

The room didn't disappoint Simon. He told the servants to not disturb him too. It had been 4 days since the destruction of the swamp and finding the Dragon bones.

The dragon bones looked a lot more cooler in real life. And, Cale taking that white crown from the Dragon's head was enough to make any fangirl go crazy.

Leaving the news of the past, Finally, after 4 whole days, Simon got near a comfy bed. He first decided to enjoy the bath for a while.

Simon planned to sleep the whole day and enjoy life. He opened his windows to let the sun come in. He would also bask in the sun indoors.

Simon stretched his body a little. Just as he was about to jump on his bed. Simon saw the window close...

It was Zero who closed it.

'What th-'

Simon's thoughts were interrupted by a punch to his face.

Thump

It didn't make that loud of a sound but it hurt.

'What the actual-'

Another punch this time but to his stomach.

'Who the hell is th-?'

Simon's thought was again interrupted by a very strong punch. In his stomach, It was strong enough to make Simon cough up blood.

Cough

"Is that enough for you to learn your lesson?"

Simon wanted to respond to this voice but realized he couldn't. He tried to look around but then found out he couldn't.

Simon immediately ordered Zero to move him away but Zero, who was the only thing in his sight didn't budge at all.

Simon didn't need to think more. He was in a really bad situation. He needed to do something.

"Did your brain stop functioning?"

Simon again heard the voice. Suddenly, Simon felt like he realized something.

'Fu*k'

It had been a long time since Simon swore.
