Chapter 20 - The Call

---Dinner---

Having completed our checks for family members, all of the elementary school kids we had with us had at least one parent with them now. Since everyone present had the opportunity to look for their loved ones, it was now time to leave.

"Alright people, we are going to head out tomorrow morning for Okinawa. All of us will need to be up by 8am tomorrow morning, and I want us on the road no later than 10am.", I told everyone, "Yoko, I am going to have you transport the children and one of their parents each in the personnel carrier. It's safer for all of us if they are secure in that vehicle. In addition you will carry some of the officers here as well for security if the need arises. The majority of us will be riding in the city bus, and will be manning the spear stations on the bus. You don't need to worry about training, it is literally point, shove, pull back. Being pulled out of the bus will be impossible...the bus would rollover before that happens. In the event you can't pull the spear back, just let it go and grab another. Don't injure yourselves doing it. My group will be at the head of the convoy, and in charge of removing obstacles."

"There is a port a few miles from here. Are we going to check for ships there to get to Okinawa faster?", Kikyo asked me.

"Yes, however we need be very careful. As many of you have witnessed some of these mutants are incredibly powerful. Some are strong enough to knock over the towers of shipping containers...", I stated with a serious look, "For a boat, we need something with space for all of us to sleep comfortably with lots of horsepower."

Pulling out a map, I plotted our land route to Okinawa along with the ports that were likely to house ships big enough for our needs. Ensuring that everyone had some form of protection on their bodies, I suggested they get washed up and get to bed early which they did so in a hurry. By 9pm everyone was in bed and sound asleep. Since I needed everyone awake tomorrow, I had decided to pull an all nighter for everyone's sake.

Once I was one hundred percent sure everyone was asleep, I slipped out of the building and headed out to do some much needed looting. Since it was clear that no one knew about the stockpile under the Takagi Mansion, I decided I would take all of the ammo and explosives down there. As I drew near, I noticed many red dots on the mini map so I hid for a bit to survey the situation. There were no drones in the area, but there was a large number of red dots in a single area. Zooming in I did see several white dots among them.

Getting closer to the group, I realized that it wasn't a group of zombies. Occupying the Takagi Mansion now were deserters from both the military and police. Looking at them, it was clear they made the decision that their government had abandoned them and had taken things into their own hands. Among them were survivors I had seen camped on the hill when Souichiro was here. Beaten and bruised, the survivors were now basically these drunkards bitches.

Listening to them boss them around, and force them to do sexual things for them I was disgusted by how far they had fallen. I got that they had been forced into this ridiculous shit, and had killed many people they considered friends and family...but this was disgusting. If they had any honor they would have just given up protecting others, and gone somewhere safe. The fact they resorted to this made them less than dirt in my eyes.

"You going to save them, or are you going to leave them?", Midna inquired eating an apple, "Those brigands are worth some good points. They have combat training and experience so they will offer you more points than normal people."

Rolling my eyes at how she said it, having more points did sound appealing. Having more hands would be nice, but there was a lot of negatives for bringing them with us. They would need counseling, and time to recover...that would be difficult with us leaving tomorrow. That said...I didn't feel right leaving people here to serve as slaves to these dickwads.

"Go!! Go!! Fight!! Fight!!", Midna cheered with a giggle, "Kick some ass with your OP self!!"

"Seriously...", I sighed.

"Such a kill joy.", she laughed before diving into my shadow.

Cracking my neck, I donned my all black outfit and Oni mask. Pulling two supposed cursed Katana blades out of storage, I silently leapt down closer to the men. With a nearly maxed out Stealth perk they didn't even didn't even notice me staring down at them. When one of the cops went to reach for a senior student that I had a passing meeting with on several occasions at school, he watched his arm spiral away as his arm sprayed blood everywhere.

Screaming bloody murder, they first looked at the girl and judged she hadn't been the cause of the injury. Looking around for the source of the cut, all they saw was the world going sideways as witnessed their headless bodies fall to the ground. Acknowledging that there was something near them now, the remaining deserters formed a circle with weapons drawn. Using their hostages as shields in case it was someone here for them, they started shouting into the dark.

"Show yourself!!", the defacto leader barked, "We will kill them if you don't-"

Feeling the sensation of cold steel on his neck, the leader froze in shock and fear. Having not even heard a sound, he instinctively knew whomever was attacking them was a pro among pros. Their movements had been so precise and calculated that no one had realized he had gotten this close to them. Up till now he thought it was a sniper, but that was clearly not the case.

"Let them go, or you are zombie chow.", I said masking my voice.

"System Message: <Voice Morphing - Rank 1> Added.", a message informed me.

"Let...let them go!", the leader shouted.

"What!?", a few of the men snapped.

"He's right behind me!!", the leader shrieked.

Turning to catch a glimpse, the rest of the men heard those men's heads hit the ground. No one dared turn their head as they would be next. Releasing the hostages, they also dropped their weapons which I stealthily stowed in my storage. Executing the men in short ordered, I wanted to leave nothing to chance. In addition to the points I would earn, I didn't want to run into people I left alive as they would be out for vengeance and would pose a threat to my group as whole. Grabbing what I needed from the bunker, I lead the survivors close to where our base was. Telling them to knock on the door and ask for shelter, I slipped into the darkness and quickly returned inside.

Hearing the knocking on the door, Saya woke up and noticed I was gone. Getting up to check on it, I came in to view from the kitchen with a cup of tea in hand. Putting things together she gave me an apologetic smile, and left it to me. Letting the people in, I woke up Yuriko so she could help get them sorted. The commotion woke others up who got up to help them get cleaned up and settled.

Listening to the story of what happened after she left, Yuriko felt bad for the people that had managed to survive. When they got to the point about a man dressed in all black with an Oni mask, I noticed Yuriko and Kiriko glance at me with an interested smile. They knew who had done it, but kept quiet since I they figured I had a reason for sneaking off.

---Next Morning---

Getting up early, everyone started getting ready to move out. Loading up bedding and other supplies, we had a hearty breakfast before loading up everything. Pulling out a 12v Deep Freeze for the medicine from the storage room, I received a big smooch from Shizuka...a very good reward in my book. Organizing everyone into their proper vehicles, we did a quick head count to make sure everyone was accounted for.

"We are all good in the personnel carrier.", Yoko radioed.

"Same on the bus.", Yuriko signaled.

Getting the barricades moved around so we could depart, Yuko got a call while we did that. Coming from the shelter in Tokyo, the commander at the shelter was requesting assistance from Black Label. Telling us that Layer 1 of their defenses were breached, they quickly stated that their was a large mutant leading the group. He was different from the rest, wearing a straightjacket and massive steel boots.

"Our munitions are just bouncing off this thing!", the commander informed us, "We have called in backup from the airport and from the Emperor, but even with them we aren't going to hold-"

Hearing a loud banging sound in the background, it sounded like the Tyrant was using its body to try to knock the door down. Yelling at his men to brace the door, we could hear them scramble to hold it up.

"What do you think?", Arashi asked hoping off the bus, "We are needed there to help protect the Shelter."

"We could also use this opportunity to flee. The zombies are mostly likely going to go there.", Kyoko remarked, "It could help us put distance between us and them."

"They are our countrymen...innocent people that can't defend themselves though.", Yuko argued, "If they breach the steel storm door they only have the inner doors separating them from the survivors."

"Victor, what do you think?", Saeko inquired looking at me.

Both points were valid, but I had already agreed to go help the shelter if they requested it. We were twenty minutes away by car so I had no reason to say no.

"Looks like we aren't leaving today.", I stated turning to Takashi who was getting off the bus, "Takashi, you and Kohta get everyone back inside. We are going to the Government Shelter to help them out. I am taking my team plus a few more to the shelter to assist."

Telling Astrid, Rei, Saya, Saeko, Yuko, Yoko, Sayo, Mikoto, Oriha, Kiriko, Yuriko, and the club members to board the bus we used to escape from school with, I floored it in the direction of the Shelter.

---Tokyo Government Shelter---

Having contacted all available troops in the area, including the Imperial Guard, Command Hasegawa had made the last call he could for aid. Admittedly he thought they died in the hospital collapse so it was a relief that they answered the call. Hoping that they had the firepower necessary to take that monster, he said a silent pray hoping most of his men would see the sunrise tomorrow.

"Commander, the door isn't going to hold much longer.", his second in command Lieutenant Chikako told him, "We need to fall back!"

"I have called in the last group of reinforcements we have. We hold here, or dying trying!", he retorted firmly, "We have thousands of people relying on us to hold them back."

Seeing cracks start to form around the doorframe, his men were started falter. Telling them to hold on for the sake of their loved ones, he reminded them that they would be torn apart if they lost this place. Redoubling their efforts, they immediately pushed steel beams into place to hold the wall up.

---Streets of Tokyo---

Using her machine gun to clear a path, I had to hold her waist and drive as she was leaned out of the driver window. I had suggested using the emergency exit on the roof, but she swore it was too far back and didn't give her a good angle. Giving me a wry smile, Yuko said that I probably enjoyed having a woman's butt in my face.

"Yeah, but not when I am driving through a horde of zombies!", I retorted.

"You know you like it big boy, don't lie about it!", Sayo rebuttaled blowing the head off a Tank with a smile.

"Seriously!", I sighed, "Just keep shooting!"

Watching the points pour in as she killed zombies and I ran others over, I smiled with delight. Once I killed the Tyrant I planned on testing out how the editing skill worked on Saya first. My theory was I could either give her any skill I wanted or I could only give skills that were in her area of expertise. Either way I would be upping her base stats first as she was the weakest of my lovers, and being able to defend herself was very important to me.

"How much further?", Yoko asked impatiently.

"We are seven minutes out.", I replied giving her a rough estimate.

Focusing on the road, I managed to dodge the denser groups to avoid the airbags deploying. As we got close to the entrance we were greeted by a terrifying sight. Using themselves as stepping stones, the zombies were quickly towering up the side of the stadium. I really hadn't expected to see this quite soon as it meant they were evolving incredibly quickly.

"What the fuck!", Saya shouted gasping at the sight.

"Things really are bad.", Yuko said as her hair turned white, "Time to get to it."

Grabbing their weapons the women got ready to go. Picking Saya up, I pulled out the grappling gun and other equipment I had brought and rushed towards an area free of zombies. Asking me what I was doing, I told her to be quiet and trust me as I fired the gun. Making sure it got a firm grip, I used it to pull us up to the roof. Shrieking as she watched the ground get away from us, she looked at me and saw the serious look I was wearing.

Once we were on the roof, I hurriedly took us down to the HQ they had setup. Rappelling down the stairwell, we let the Commander know we were here.

"Where is the rest of your team?", he questioned.

"They are outside, we came over the wall. You have zombies towering up and they are close to getting on the roof.", I informed him.

"Shit, Chikako take some men up there and keep them off us!", he barked.

"Saya, you go with them.", I told her.

"I...I am more help here than in-"

Hearing the door creak under the strain, she froze up.

"Saya!", I shouted giving her a firm look, "You have leadership abilities, I need you to be a leader and give them guidance. This is your time to show them that you are your own person, and not your father's daughter! You are a brilliant woman, show me that tactician that you keep hiding behind your self-doubt."

Resolving herself, she nodded her head and followed them upstairs. Once she was gone I turned my attention to the door. The door was only going to hold for a few more minutes, and then it would collapse under the abuse.

"Commander, have your men fall back. When that door gives they will be crushed if they aren't a safe distance away.", I told him.

"Agreed, fall back and take up defensive positions men!", he ordered, "I want those .50 calibers ready to go the moment the door comes down!! Don't you dare stop firing till you run out of ammo!"

Hurriedly getting into position, the troops got prepared to fight for their lives. Piling sand bags up and placing mines down, they all were sweating with nervousness. Pulling the large War Axe on my back off, I gave it a quick once over. This axe was something I had...procured from the Minister of Foreign Affairs office and left a replica in it's place. Legend said it had slain Dragons in the olden days, but more than likely it was a normal Viking War Axe that a powerful Chief used in the past. Having reinforced it to the max with my skills, I felt it was fitting to use an axe given what I was about to do.

"Young man, I didn't expect to see you here. I heard that your father had made it out of the country...", the Commander remarked recognizing me.

"My father left me behind.", I told him, "He's dead to me now."

"I see, it is an honor to fight beside you. My Master told me many things about you.", he stated with a grin, "I was a pupil of Master Hayato's till his retirement. He said you had a promising future as a Mixed Martial Artist. It is unfortunate that none of us will be able to see that."

Watching blood start to seep through the cracks, the troops got settled into their positions. Watching the steel I-beam's bow under the pressure, I gripped my axe tightly waiting for them to come through. A few moments later the wall caved in sending dust and debris everywhere. Once the door hit the ground all of the troops opened fired on the horde pouring into the area. Tearing most of the mutants and normal zombies apart, the Tanks were taking several bullets to take down and the Tyrant wasn't even flinching when the bullets hit.

"Take it down!!", the Commander shouted throwing a grenade into the crowd of undead.

As the dust blew away I got a good look at the Tyrant. Instead of the Mr. X variant I was expecting, this Tyrant looked more like the bruisers from Dead Island. The features Mr. X had weren't present here...it truly was an early production Tyrant, but why had they left it in a straightjacket. Roaring at the men, it charged forward at the defensive line causing several of the men to back away in fear.

Rushing forward, I leapt off the defensive wall they had shouting at the top of my lungs and slammed my axe down on the Tyrants head. Dropping him too the floor, the area all around us spiderwebbed under the blow. Pulling the axe out, I knew he wasn't going to stay down long so I focused on taking as many zombies as I could before he got up.

Sending bodies flying with every swing, the soldiers watched in disbelief as a single High School student stemmed the flow of the horde crashing in on them. Realizing that they had a chance now, Commander Hasegawa ordered his men to pick off the dead that were trying to get around me. Pushing them back till the Tyrant was back on his feet, his focus was solely on me now.

Roaring at me, he took off running like Mack Truck trying to crush me with momentum alone. Gritting my teeth, I caught him and used his own energy against him in a Judo throw. Sending him crashing into his comrades, all anyone could here was the crushing of bones and flesh. Struggling to shake off the impact, the Tyrant look at me with fury.

"You think you are the only that can let out a terrifying battle cry...", I muttered activating Spartan Rage, "RRRAAWWRRR!!"
